This is the worst hotel I've stayed at the room stinks, the bedspread stinks, it is itchy and there's burn holes in it, the floor is warped from water damage the towels and washcloths haven't been washed, nor have the pillow cases, the pillows stink, the hot water doesn't get hot in the shower, there's water leaking in the tiny fridge.onto the dresser, the door doesn't open all the way because of the dresser is blocking it, the drawers in the dresser and night stand all won't open and they smell horrible. There's no breakfast served here, no ice machine. No pool, the vending machines don't work I saw trash behind the dresser and night stand I dropped my phone next to the bed and when I looked under the bed 2 find my phone there was a nasty washcloth under it with a used condom. Disgusting. Room 27. And the icing on the cake is there's a bunch of drunks partying all night outside yelling and laughing and fighting and when we ask for clean towels and washcloths the guy brought us the same washcloths back like I couldn't tell one had the same dirt on it and the other someone had blown their nose on it. There were buggers on it. Nasty Disgusting man. I can't believe this place is like this. I'm not a Karen I just can't stand filth. Never rent a room here. I give zero stars.
Welcome to Nashville, Tennessee! For many locals and visitors alike, navigating the diverse landscape of accommodations in Music City often comes down to finding the right balance between location, amenities, and, crucially, price. While Nashville boasts numerous high-end and boutique hotels, there's always a demand for budget-friendly options that cater to travelers seeking simply a place to rest. Today, we're providing a candid overview of a particular establishment, the Relax Inn, located on Dickerson Pike, to help you set realistic expectations for a stay here.
The Relax Inn positions itself as a basic, no-frills motel-style accommodation, typically appealing to guests looking for the absolute lowest price point for an overnight stay. Unlike larger hotel chains that offer extensive services and modern facilities, budget motels like the Relax Inn usually provide fundamental necessities. It's important to understand that properties in this category prioritize affordability above all else, which often means sacrificing certain comforts, maintenance standards, and amenities that might be expected from higher-tier hotels. For Tennesseans, this type of lodging might come into consideration for very short, functional stays, or as a last resort when other options are unavailable or outside a strict budget.
The Relax Inn is situated at 1801 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207, USA. Dickerson Pike is a major thoroughfare in Nashville, known for being a bustling commercial corridor with a mix of businesses, residential areas, and other budget-friendly motels. This location is in North Nashville, an area that provides relatively direct access to downtown Nashville and other key parts of the city.
In terms of accessibility, the hotel's position on a main road means it's generally easy to reach by car. While specific distances to attractions are not provided in the given reviews, Dickerson Pike connects to various parts of Nashville, including downtown, which is typically a short drive away. However, guests relying on public transportation may find options more limited compared to areas closer to the city center.
A significant aspect of the location, as indicated by guest reviews, is the surrounding environment. One review explicitly mentions "a bunch of drunks partying all night outside yelling and laughing and fighting." This suggests that the immediate area outside the hotel can be prone to noise and disturbances, potentially impacting the peace and quiet of a guest's stay. This kind of environment is a critical factor for those sensitive to noise or seeking a tranquil resting place. Potential guests should be aware that while the location offers road access, the immediate vicinity might present challenges in terms of ambient noise and social environment.
Based on the direct feedback from customer reviews, the services offered at the Relax Inn appear to be extremely limited, focusing solely on providing the most basic form of shelter. It is clear that guests should not expect a comprehensive range of amenities typically found even in many budget hotels.
Room Accommodation: The primary service is providing a room for overnight stays. Rooms are described as having a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, and a tiny fridge.
Hot Water (with issues): While hot water is presumably available, a review noted that "the hot water doesn't get hot in the shower," indicating inconsistency or lack of proper heating.
Refrigerator (with issues): A small refrigerator is provided in the room, but one guest reported "water leaking in the tiny fridge onto the dresser," suggesting a maintenance issue.
Limited Towel/Washcloth Service: Guests reportedly had to ask for clean towels and washcloths, and even then, received items that appeared to be unwashed or previously used, with visible dirt and stains. This indicates a severe lack of proper laundry and replenishment services.
No Breakfast Served: The hotel explicitly states that "there's no breakfast served here," meaning guests must arrange their own meals.
No Ice Machine: There is no ice machine available for guests.
No Pool: The property does not feature a swimming pool.
Non-functional Vending Machines: Vending machines are present but reportedly "don't work," making it impossible to purchase snacks or drinks on-site.
Refund Policy Issues: One review indicated significant difficulties in obtaining a refund, even in cases of serious issues like bed bugs, and mentioned being denied a deposit refund for leaving shortly after checkout.
Staff Attitude Issues: A review mentioned a "poor attitude" from staff when confronted with issues like bed bugs, suggesting a lack of customer service. However, it's possible this was an isolated incident.
It is evident from these points that the Relax Inn provides minimal services, and even the basic amenities offered may suffer from significant functionality or hygiene issues.
Based on the customer feedback, it is challenging to identify positive "features" or "highlights" for the Relax Inn, as the reviews primarily detail significant deficiencies. However, in an attempt to present any factual information, here are points from the reviews, categorized by their nature:
Presence of Basic Room Furniture: Rooms are equipped with a bed, dresser, and nightstand. However, the functionality and condition of these items are severely compromised (e.g., warped floors, drawers not opening, dresser blocking the door).
In-Room Refrigerator: A small refrigerator is provided, though noted to be leaking.
Hot Water Availability (with issues): Hot water is seemingly present, but its temperature is inconsistent.
It is imperative to immediately and clearly state the critical issues that have been highlighted by multiple guests, as these fundamentally define the experience at this establishment:
Overwhelming Odors: Pervasive foul smells ("stinks," "smell horrible") were reported in the room, bedspread, pillows, and even from the dresser and nightstand drawers.
Severe Cleanliness & Hygiene Issues: This is the most critical and frequently cited problem. Guests reported unwashed towels, washcloths (with "dirt" and "buggers"), pillowcases, and bedspreads (with "burn holes" and causing itchiness). One particularly disturbing report mentioned a "nasty washcloth with a used condom" found under the bed.
Bed Bugs: Multiple rooms were explicitly reported to have bed bugs, a serious health and comfort concern.
Poor Room Maintenance & Functionality: Issues include warped floors from water damage, a dresser blocking the door's full opening, non-functional dresser and nightstand drawers, and trash found behind furniture.
Non-functional Amenities: Vending machines were reported as not working, and there is no ice machine or pool, contrary to common motel expectations.
External Noise and Disturbances: Guests experienced significant noise pollution from "drunks partying all night outside yelling and laughing and fighting," severely disrupting sleep and peace.
Customer Service Issues: Staff exhibited "poor attitude" when confronted with complaints and reportedly refused refunds even for severe issues like bed bugs and also for minor checkout delays.
Based on the overwhelming negative feedback concerning fundamental aspects of accommodation, such as cleanliness, safety, and basic functionality, it is difficult to identify any positive "highlights" that would genuinely benefit a guest.
Given the nature of the Relax Inn as a very basic, budget-oriented motel, it is highly unlikely to have formal, publicly advertised "promotions" or "special offers" in the way that larger hotel chains do. Its pricing is likely already at the very lowest end of the market for the area.
Any "deals" would typically be reflected in its standard nightly rate, which is intended to be competitive for its category. Therefore, potential guests should simply inquire about the standard room rates directly when contacting the hotel.
It's important to note that the primary "offer" of this establishment is likely its potentially very low price point. However, as the reviews indicate, this comes with significant compromises in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and basic service.
For direct inquiries regarding availability and rates at the Relax Inn, you can use the following contact details:
Address: 1801 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207, USA
Phone: (615) 258-3135
Mobile Phone: +1 615-258-3135
Please be aware that contact via phone is likely the most direct method to inquire about rates and any immediate availability, as online booking platforms may not extensively feature such budget properties or may not accurately reflect real-time conditions.
For residents of Tennessee, especially those in the Nashville area, considering the Relax Inn for any purpose requires a very specific set of circumstances and extremely low expectations. Based on the overwhelming and severe negative feedback from multiple customer reviews, it is challenging to recommend this establishment for most typical lodging needs, even for budget-conscious locals.
However, if one were to consider situations where this place might be "suitable" for a local, it would likely be in extremely rare and limited scenarios where no other viable options are available, or where the absolute lowest possible price is the sole determinant, regardless of comfort, hygiene, or safety concerns. For example:
Extreme Last-Resort Overnight: In an emergency situation where all other affordable options are fully booked, financially inaccessible, or geographically impossible to reach, and a local simply needs a roof over their head for a few hours, with no expectation of comfort or cleanliness.
Temporary, Unforeseen Circumstances: Perhaps a local experiences an unexpected car breakdown very late at night on Dickerson Pike and needs an immediate, minimal-cost shelter, with no personal belongings of value to leave unattended and a plan to depart at the earliest possible moment.
It is crucial to stress that the provided reviews detail significant issues including unhygienic conditions (bed bugs, unwashed linens, used condoms), security concerns (faulty locks), non-functional amenities, and disruptive noise from outside the property. These issues strongly indicate that the Relax Inn falls far below acceptable standards for most guests seeking a comfortable, safe, or even basically clean stay. Therefore, for the vast majority of local users in Tennessee, even those on a tight budget, it would be prudent to explore other budget hotel options in Nashville that offer a more reliable and sanitary experience, even if at a slightly higher price point. This establishment, as described by its previous guests, appears to be suitable only under the most dire and unavoidable circumstances for a brief, functional stay where health and safety risks are unfortunately present.

Aug 06, 2023 · Mary SimpsonThe first 2 rooms had beg bugs. Room 405 and 213. Finally got one without bedbugs but it was nasty. The ONLY reason we stayed was because she wouldn't give us a refund. Had a poor attitude like it was my fault they had bed bugs. Would not recommend. Also would not give us our deposit back because we left less than 5 minutes after checkout.
Feb 18, 2022 · Bigbrandon BernardIf I could give it a zero star I would. A friend and I rented a room for a week they charged me $380.00 only gave us one bed and one towel. The chair has all kinds of stains the comforter has black mold no toilet paper no soap the remote for the tv don't work. You are not allowed to have friends come visit you while your here. The owner is looking for any reason to kick you out so he can pocket your money. I do not recommend no one to stay here awful mistake on my part....

Mar 18, 2024 · Lisa Woods (Brandons wife#1)DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I normally don't write reviews but I felt like this hotel needed one. Yeah the rooms are big but what hotel doesn't have maids that comes to your room everyday or every other day asking do you need your room clean or clean linen?! This one! I currently here until next week when I move to Clarksville. I've been here for a minute & I wanted to pay weekly but every time I ask I get different prices. One minute it's 375 then the next it's 410 then they even went up to 500 dollars! These rooms are not worth what they are trying to make you pay for! They complained because I asked for clean linen smh! You literally have to wash your own sheets, comforter, & towels. You have to buy your own tissue & clean up your room. DO NOT COME HERE!!!
