I really wish I could leave a better review but I’ll start with the positives. The rooms were cleaned to the best of their ability. Rooms do have a full kitchen. Sheets and towels were clean. That’s the only positives I had to say. We stayed for two nights. Our first night on the 3rd floor guests were smoking heavily even though it’s a non smoking hotel. It was disgusting. People staying here look to be experiencing the worst parts of their lives and drug usage in the area is apparent. The tv also had no signal. There’s hardly ever anyone at the front desk because the place is being ran by one person seems like. I was able to talk with Tim and he was the only person keeping this place together. Tim is a good man there and he made sure that we got a new room and he caught the person smoking. I would never stay here again. It wasn’t worth the money and was the absolute worst hospital stay I ever had. Tim good luck in the future. You’re a hero there.

The hotel offers free self-parking on-site, which is a significant advantage for guests who have their own vehicles, eliminating additional parking fees that can add up during extended stays.
In summary, while you'll likely need a car to fully explore the surrounding area, the Extended Stay America - Phoenix - Chandler's location provides practical access to major highways, shopping, dining, and local attractions, making it a functional base for various extended-stay needs for Arizona locals.

For Arizona residents, the Extended Stay America - Phoenix - Chandler can be a viable option when specific, practical needs for an extended stay arise. While recent customer reviews highlight significant concerns that potential guests must seriously consider, the fundamental value proposition of an Extended Stay America property still caters to a particular niche in the local market.
The primary reason this hotel could be suitable for locals is its core offering: suites with full kitchens. If you're undertaking a major home renovation and need a temporary living space, hosting out-of-state family for a prolonged visit, or even if you're a local professional on a temporary work assignment in the area, the ability to cook your own meals, store groceries, and have a dedicated living space far outweighs the limitations of a standard hotel room. This feature alone can lead to significant cost savings on food and provide a greater sense of normalcy during a transitional period. The on-site guest laundry facilities further enhance this self-sufficient living experience, which is crucial for longer stays.
The hotel's location, with easy access to I-10 and proximity to major shopping centers like Arizona Mills and Chandler Fashion Center, means that while you'll likely need a car, essential amenities and entertainment are within a reasonable driving distance. The free on-site parking is also a practical benefit for locals who will have their vehicles with them.
However, it is absolutely critical for any local considering this Extended Stay America to carefully weigh the recent negative customer feedback. Reports of pervasive smoking despite non-smoking policies, concerns about the immediate surrounding environment, issues with non-functional TVs, and particularly concerning descriptions of front desk staffing and professionalism (with the exception of one staff member, Tim) point to potential challenges in the guest experience. It is highly advisable to call the hotel directly, inquire about current conditions, and possibly even visit the property beforehand if possible, to assess the situation for yourself, especially if a long-term stay is planned.
In conclusion, if your primary need is an affordable extended stay with a full kitchen in the Phoenix/Chandler area, and you are prepared to manage potential operational inconsistencies, the Extended Stay America - Phoenix - Chandler could fulfill that basic requirement. Its suitability for locals hinges on prioritizing the self-catering aspect and being proactive in addressing any potential concerns directly with the property.

Jun 17, 2025 · Kristin higginbothamI’ll start with the positive comments. The rooms were clean and good sized. The property itself was overall good and it is close to food and shopping. The positives, however do not outweigh the negatives. When I was checking in the entire time I was waiting the front desk staff were very short and almost rude to guests, as if we were the problem because we were interrupting their gossip session. They were gossiping amongst each other and with other guests about other staff members and guests. The manager was screaming on his phone the entire time which made it hard to hear anything while checking in. Then later that night I went to the front because my key wasn’t working and it took him (I believe his name was Tim) over 10 minutes to come out from the dark back room and treated me like I was in the wrong for disturbing his nap. The entire time I could tell he was struggling to stay awake. His appearance and demeanor was completely unprofessional. If the front desk staff had the slightest bit of customer service skills it would be a 5 star but they are what holds this place back.
May 30, 2025 · EmilyWe stayed here several times in winter 2025. Room was always clean and quiet. There was a full kitchen. Great location. When the manager found out we were there because a family member was in hospice, he gave us the lowest price he could. We so appreciate that! When it looked like a reservation was lost -- could be because I reserved at the wrong hotel -- it was easily fixed for us. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Apr 14, 2025 · Jamie AndersonI had a great experience at Extended Stay America. Check-in was smooth and fast, and my room was clean and comfortable. The only issue I encountered was that the toilet water was running and the bathtub faucet couldn’t be shut off. Just a simple maintenance problem—but what truly impressed me was how it was handled. I spoke to Tim at the front desk, and he went above and beyond to help. Unbeknownst to me, nearly every hotel in town was fully booked due to NASCAR, auto auctions, and other events. Even with the hotel at full capacity, Tim somehow managed to find another room for me. Instead of just handing me the key, he personally went to check the room to make sure everything was in order and clean before I went up. That level of care and professionalism is rare. Tim was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. We need more people like him working the front desks of hotels. He made a stressful situation much easier, and I truly appreciate it.
Mar 24, 2025 · Jim StarichaThe manager and front desk lady waited for me to leave and went through my room! I forgot my phone in my room and caught them running out of my room in to a cleaning or supply room. this all happened Thursday jun 12 around 11:00 am if footage needs to be reviewed they come out and get me a new and they were going all through my bags and all through the drawers. Long story short there ,was a pouch of some sort was opened on my bed with drug paraphernalia in it, a 1000 dollars came up miss out of one of my suitcases, I was treated with the police and was made to check out 3 weeks earlier with no refund and my stay cost almost 1900. I did make a police report after I vacated the property.
