Our plans changed suddenly and we needed to add another day to our stay. Wendy went above and beyond to help us. We had to stay in a different room the first night (the night we added to our stay) and we were fully prepared to take our bags back out to our car at check out and then come back to our other room at the check in time but Tammy and Carl worked magic and made everything much more convenient. The rooms are charming and cozy. The beds are perfect and it was so peaceful and quiet we slept like rocks. Our rooms had tiny balconies the perfect size for me and my husband to sit and relax. The Inn is located with in walking distance of just about everything. The only issue is parking, there isn’t much of it at the Inn. Our first night we arrived late and had to park in a paid parking lot. There are several paid parking places that are close to the Inn. I definitely would recommend a stay here.

Fisherman's Wharf Inn Introduce

When your search for "Hotels Near Of Me" leads you to the picturesque coast of Maine, the Fisherman's Wharf Inn in Boothbay Harbor stands out as an exceptional choice. Nestled at 22 Commercial St, right in the heart of this vibrant working harbor, the inn offers guests an authentic and immersive coastal experience. It perfectly blends a sense of history with modern comforts, providing direct access to the town's bustling waterfront and lively downtown scene.

Environment: The Heart of a Working Harbor

The Fisherman's Wharf Inn boasts an unparalleled environment, situated directly on the working waterfront of Boothbay Harbor. This means guests are treated to continuous, dynamic views of lobster boats, fishing vessels, and pleasure crafts navigating the bustling marina. The inn itself is partially built over the water on Pier 6, offering a unique perspective of the harbor's daily rhythm. Many rooms feature private balconies, providing an intimate space to soak in the sights and sounds of the active harbor, from sunrise to sunset. While the inn does not feature expansive grounds like a resort, its prime location is its greatest asset. Guests can step directly from the inn onto the waterfront promenade, where they are immediately surrounded by a charming array of shops, art galleries, and other acclaimed restaurants. The crisp sea air and the vibrant maritime atmosphere are ever-present, creating a truly immersive coastal experience. Its central position makes it incredibly convenient for exploring Boothbay Harbor on foot, minimizing the need for a car once you've arrived. The views are a consistent highlight, with guests frequently praising the opportunity to relax and take in the captivating harbor scenery.

Services: Attentive Support and Essential Conveniences

The Fisherman's Wharf Inn is dedicated to providing a comfortable and convenient stay for its guests, backed by a friendly and helpful staff. Reviews often commend the staff for going "above and beyond" to assist guests, demonstrating a commitment to personalized service. The front desk is open daily from 8 AM to 9 PM, with clear instructions for late arrivals. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, ensuring guests can stay connected. For travelers with vehicles, the inn offers free self-parking, although it's noted that spaces can be limited, especially during peak season, and guests arriving late might need to utilize nearby paid parking lots. However, the inn aims to make parking as convenient as possible. Additional practical amenities include a fitness center for those who wish to maintain their workout routine, and a charming outdoor spa tub on the Marina Deck for relaxation. The inn also offers a 24-hour business center with a computer and printer in the lobby, an ATM/banking service, and laundry facilities. For guests traveling with pets, the Fisherman's Wharf Inn is dog-friendly in specific designated rooms, typically in the Red Building with semi-private balconies overlooking the outer harbor. There is an additional fee (approximately $25 per pet per night), and guests must reserve these rooms directly with the hotel and adhere to specific pet policies. This inclusivity makes it a desirable option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" where furry companions are welcome.

Features: Charming Rooms and Acclaimed Waterfront Dining

The Fisherman's Wharf Inn offers 54 guest rooms and suites, each designed with a charming and cozy New England ambiance. While some aspects of the property may feel "a bit dated" to some, guests consistently find the rooms clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. A significant feature is that many rooms boast private balconies or terraces, offering varying but always captivating views of Boothbay Harbor, from the inner harbor activity to the outer bay. Common in-room amenities include comfortable beds (often king or queen sizes), flat-screen TVs with cable channels, individual climate control (air conditioning and heating), mini-refrigerators, microwaves, Keurig coffeemakers, and private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. The inn's dining facilities are a major highlight and a central feature of the guest experience:

  • Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant: This full-service, seasonal restaurant offers casual waterfront dining with a focus on fresh, locally-sourced seafood and traditional New England cuisine. It provides a unique dining experience, often built around the original superstructure of a historic tugboat, and features extensive menus for lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy lobster, crab cakes, daily fresh catch specials, and other regional favorites, all with panoramic views of the harbor.

  • Pier 6 Tavern: A more casual pub-style venue, the Tavern offers cocktails, local ales, and a lighter pub menu. It often features live entertainment, particularly on weekends and during peak season, creating a lively atmosphere right on the water.

The inn also features its own private marina, offering seasonal and transient slips for guests arriving by boat. Its central location allows guests to easily access various harbor activities, including whale watching tours, fishing charters, scenic cruises, and visits to nearby attractions such as the Boothbay Harbor Marina, the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor, and a short drive to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.

Promotional Information: Seasonal Offers and Direct Booking Advantages

The Fisherman's Wharf Inn typically operates seasonally, from late May through October, aligning with Maine's popular summer and fall tourist seasons. While specific, continuously running "special offers" may not be prominently advertised year-round, guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" can often find value through several avenues:

  • Seasonal Rates: Like many coastal properties, rates at Fisherman's Wharf Inn fluctuate based on demand. Visiting during the shoulder seasons (late May-June and September-October) can often provide more competitive pricing and a quieter experience compared to the peak summer months (July-August).

  • Direct Booking Benefits: The inn encourages direct bookings, which can sometimes come with perks. For instance, directly booking through their official website or by calling (207) 633-5090 or mobile phone +1 207-633-5090 can sometimes offer a better rate or access to specific room types. They also explicitly mention a discounted parking policy for direct bookers, where they pay $15 nightly compared to $30 for third-party bookings.

  • Gift Certificates: Fisherman's Wharf Inn offers gift certificates that can be used for lodging or dining at their restaurant, providing a flexible gift option with no expiration date.

  • Check for Packages: While not always active, it's worth inquiring about any special packages that might combine accommodation with dining credits, local attraction tickets, or extended stay discounts.

Due to its prime location and popularity, especially during the summer, it is highly advisable to book your stay at Fisherman's Wharf Inn well in advance. This ensures availability of your preferred room type, particularly those with harbor views and balconies, for a truly memorable coastal Maine vacation experience.

Only stayed one night but had a good stay. The location is perfect. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. And for being so close to everything it was very quiet which was nice. I’m mainly writing this review because the bed was so comfortable and cozy. I was already sleep deprived when I arrived, but I turned on the heat, settled in, and slept for 12hrs!

We had an amazing stay at this inn, we stayed in King Corner Suite "Footbridge Suite" (Best View). I highly recommend booking through the hotel if you want to ensure you reserve the correct room. The location is great, the staff at the restaurant was amazing as well as the food which was delicious. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner the first night and on our second night the bartender took our kid’s order despite the kitchen having just closed for the night, which we for are very thankful for. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in the area.

This is the 2nd worst hotel experience of my life. The first was at a dorms for groups in Rockville Md in 1982. Where to start? Extremely dated overpriced room. Flimsy door lock. rancid smell emanating from room was hard to discern. Just mold and mildew? But combined with the stale cigarette smell, there was almost a constant odor of burnt toast. Luke warm shower with poor water pressure. Poorly refilled toiletries dripping down sides of the bottle. The guests in the room above us clearly couldn’t have known we could hear all of their movements. After having asthma from the moldy carpet, I finally fell asleep only to be awakened by the vacuuming of the room above us and dragging furniture across the floor at 9 am. I was going to ask for a manager. I told the man at the desk that we were checking out a day early for the above reasons. His response was “you know you own that room.” Clearly there is no one present who cares remotely about hospitality or guest experience. I owned a business in a tourist town in Maine for 35 years. I taught my employees that is far better to maintain a good reputation than try to repair a bad one. Clearly, for your business, that ship has sailed.

This Inn was the absolute picturesque vision of a New England Inn. The rooms were clean and super comfortable. The harbor view from our balcony was like something out of a dream! It's close enough to walk all over the small Boothbay Harbor town with wonderful restaurants and coffee shops super close by. The staff at the inn were warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon!
