Girls week with one friend. We stayed in the main inn. The room is older with a New England charm. We loved the spa; had wonderful massages. the location is fantastic. The grounds are beautiful and I enjoyed our meals at the restaurants. The shuttle was wonderful as I transported us to and fro town center when we didn’t want to drive.

I have been staying at Spruce Point Inn for several years, my fav property in Boothbay! And, I'm getting ready to book my rooms again for a June trip. Can't wait to get back!

Spruce Point Inn has all the makings of a magical destination, but sadly, it falls short in nearly every way except its stunning location and well-manicured lawn. The property itself is undeniably beautiful, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful setting. The grounds have so much potential to deliver a truly special experience. However, the lack of upkeep and attention to detail is glaring. While the lawn is pristine, the rest of the property feels neglected and run down. Peeling paint, outdated furnishings, and an overall air of disrepair make it hard to enjoy what could be a charming escape. The service is, unfortunately, some of the worst I’ve encountered. Staff seemed disorganized and uninterested in providing a welcoming experience. Requests were met with either confusion or indifference, and it often felt like guests were more of an inconvenience than a priority. The food is another major disappointment. Calling it inedible is not an exaggeration. It’s hard to understand how a property with such a prime setting can deliver such poor dining experiences. With no real alternatives nearby, this was a particularly frustrating aspect of the stay. In summary, Spruce Point Inn is a classic example of unrealized potential (or private equity investment gone wrong). The beautiful property deserves much better management and attention to guest experience. Until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend this destination. Such a shame for a place that could be so much more.

We arrive for a wedding party hosted by the inn and our rooms weren't ready. Nobody offered anywhere to change. My wife and I changed in the parking lot. The room still weren't ready well after check-in time and then they tried to joke about it when they finally handed us the keys 2 hours after check-in the room that we were told we were going to get a nice private unit by where the reception was being held was incorrect. They had us in a townhome situation that smelled mildewy sandwiched in between a bunch of other units and under another unit so there was no privacy and it was noisy. Another of the group in our wedding party literally had dog feces on the floor that they had to request someone come and clean up so the cleanliness standards are next to none. The staff seemed miserable. Clearly do not like their jobs which usually speaks to poor management. I've worked for many hotels and still work for two hotels in Portland and can say that this was the single worst hotel experience I've ever had. Now the location is gorgeous. You can't fault them for that but during the photo shoots we were asked to take everything out of our pockets and I left behind a pair of sunglasses that disappeared nowhere to be found. So that was the icing on the cake on our overpriced stay. Next time I visit boothbay I would not even consider this location

We had high hopes for our stay, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. Our room was outdated, dirty, and smelled strongly of urine. When we raised the issue with the staff, they seemed indifferent, more focused on accommodating a wedding rather than addressing our concerns. To make matters worse, most of the amenities, including the restaurant and bar, were closed for the wedding, which we were not informed of beforehand. After a long drive from Bar Harbor, we couldn’t even relax with a meal or a drink. We ended up leaving and staying elsewhere, which turned out to be much cleaner, friendlier, and far cheaper. To top it off, they wouldn’t cancel the charges for the room, so now I have to deal with it through my credit card. Spruce Point Inn’s service definitely did not make up for the inconvenience. I would not recommend staying here, especially if they have an event going on.
