May 16, 2025 · Richard AdamsWe stayed here for two nights in August, and the best part was definitely the location and ambiance. It's recently renovated, right on the water, and an easy 10 minute drive into Boothbay Harbor. We enjoyed the decor and cleanliness of our room. We had two issues that the staff quickly did their best to rectify. Our room was located directly above the restaurant which closes at 10pm, so at night when they were closing and cleaning up, it was very noisy in our room. It put us in a weird position as guests to have to complain about the staff who just want to laugh and unwind after work, but being directly above them, we could hear chairs dragging and loud voices until after 10:30pm. We notified the front desk and the next night the situation improved. I suppose the only way to fully improve this experience would be to not have rooms this close to the kitchen without extra soundproofing. Additionally, the deadbolt in our room did not work. Once we told the front desk, they sent someone to fix it and it locked from the inside but not the outside. We appreciate that staff did what they could in both situations to resolve the issues. Otherwise, check-in and out was simple, and we enjoyed the fire pit at night and inviting details in the main floor/lounge areas.
Aug 28, 2024 · AlexisLocation cannot be beat! We always stay with you every summer. Great friendly staff. Very clean. Big disappointment is breakfast. Poor choice of foods for continental fare . Tiny little samples, much on warmer . Not even a boiled egg. And $15.00 per person!! Paid it last summer- not this year. Now drive to town (15 min) & got a marvelous made to order selection. Also $15.00 a person. No comparison. PS we also saw other guests dining in town as well.missed opportunity for you.
Sep 05, 2024 · Sharon LevineClean room, nice staff, beautiful views--but not a good value. At close to $400/night I expected better. I paid for a premium oceanfront view. My porch/deck was not very private, and the first floor rooms are noisy if there's a family above you, as there was when we were there last week. The coffee supplied in my room expired in December 2023. There are no facecloths other than the color black. Have you ever had a black washcloth at a hotel? I haven't. Usually means they are hiding something gross. The housekeeping staff was very. nice and tried to help, but there is little they could do to overcome bad hotel management. Not worth the money.
Jul 30, 2024 · ScottI tried FOUR times to work things out through the hotel management and through replies to their automated “How is everything?” texts, but found their resolution completely unsatisfactory. Below are my correspondences: While we enjoyed the restaurant, the location, and the staff at the hotel, we are leaving today feeling that we had to put up with an “icky” feeling in our room, something we were not expecting with a $500 invoice for two nights. I hope you will address the run down, and filthy bathroom. I cleaned it as best I could when I arrived, but I was not interested in dealing with a bug ridden screen and a drain that was clogged in the shower. The condition made our stay feel more like a rundown motel stay, and not what we were expecting from the inn. The entry to the building where our room was could use a scrub and the carpets look like an old frat house, filthy and stained. I am not one to post a negative review for a place that seems to be trying to please patrons in part of the business, but I do want to share our disappointment as we leave today. Upon receiving a whopping $40 credit, which didn’t even cover the taxes: It seems odd to discount the 10% after taxes have been collected on the full amount. The gesture of a $40 discount is not a satisfactory resolution to us. I reattach the photos for your reference. Still no response… Shame on you, Ocean Point Inn, for charging high prices and serving up such a filthy room.
