Air conditioners in casitas cannot keep up with the heat, and are too loud. They would not exchange our room after they could not fix the air conditioner, only offered a portable fan. Also, their parking lot is under construction, so you must pay for valet parking. Pool decking is so hot you must bring shoes or sandals to each pool area. Many kids and adults had to run from pools, slipping on wet tiles. Breakfast food was great, and pool service for drinks was excellent. Fitness center was great.

For us Arizonans, the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is more than just a hotel; it's an accessible oasis right in our vibrant community. While past guest feedback points to some occasional service or maintenance issues (like AC struggles in casitas, elevator issues, or communication during large events, and the cost of on-site amenities), the overall consensus consistently highlights the beauty of the property, the comfort of the beds, the excellence of the breakfast food, and the superb pool service. The recent $115 million renovation further enhances its appeal, ensuring a modern and luxurious experience. Its unparalleled pool complex with a sand beach and waterslide is a fantastic amenity for families, providing hours of fun and a crucial escape from the summer heat. Jun 16, 2025 · Zachary DavisAttended celebration of our Aunt and Uncle's 48 wedding anniversary. Our extended family spent at least 2 nights here and had 2 festive dinners. Overall the experience was great. It is really beautiful here. During the days the family had rented out a cabana near the pools which (importantly) included a misting device which is necessary in the literally stunning 106F heat. The cabana was really nice and the service was great. The rooms are quite nice but frankly less-than based on the pricing. Beds extremely comfortable but AC struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature. In room fridge did not work properly in at least 2 rooms. And shower backed up in mine (not the end of the world, was fixed promptly). And while I know many may find this comment Superflous: the TV in the room was large but the tech was very slow making channel selection really slow. For the price and expectation: really annoying. Also on our arrival day (and continuing to day) there was a noticeable "burnt plastic" smell in the main areas of the hotel. One elevator was out of service and continues to be... the smell appears to be concentrated near the elevator so perhaps they had some kind of elevator problem. In any case, they didn't communicate about it. During the two festive dinners: the staff was quite accommodating and very polite. However, there were a number of occasions that they neglected to close the doors to our room when noise from the band threatened to drown out a family member speaking. In my experience this usually means that the staff is well meaning and well trained and marshalled, just either having an 'off' day or just not yet trained for smaller functions. Also, for those thinking of planning a family function here, I wouldn't suggest you avoid this location but I would caution you that the family encountered a great deal of confusion from the staff leading up to the event itself. Many comments were shared about the difficulty in communications and planning. My sense is that everyone was polite and professional yet somehow continuously confused. Even my wife was contacted by the resort but they had her confused with another family member so she was concerned. So I would factor that into your decision. Overall, we had an enjoyable time, but this was paid for by other family members. Had I been the 'treating' family, this review would have been far different and not for the better.
Jun 22, 2025 · Jonathan KaplanLove the classy renovations and the hotel really stepping into its new “Grand Hyatt” designation. Globalist recognition is good, with upgrade to a suite. The new club is a fantastic addition, but it does get crowded during peak times, and the lack of variety of dishes at breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Service has stepped up and the pool areas are as great as ever. We are fans!
May 24, 2025 · JOverall the hotel gets 1 star. The staff were very friendly at check in and that process was easy. The food on site is terrible bar food. The pool water was filthy, mucky and full of debris. Wouldn’t even go swim and it was hot out. Service at the pool is not good. If you don’t flag someone down you’ll sit for an hour without anyone asking if you need anything. Noise control at this hotel was terrible. Kids running the halls and screaming at 1, 2 and 3 in the morning despite many calls to front desk. Walls are paper thin. Very dated and for the price there are many other resorts that are far superior. Wouldn’t recommend the Hyatt to anyone. Better off going to AZ grand if you want a dated resort.
May 13, 2025 · Daniel SWe had a great time as a family at Grand Hyatt in Scottsdale. The rooms are amazing, the restaurants on site fantastic, drinks excellent and the pool is one of the best. They have multiple pools with some only for adults without kids splashing water everywhere. They also somehow managed to incorporate a "beach with sand" in one side of the pool which our kids loved. There is also an amazing water slide which is open from 11 to 5 everyday. They also have activities for kids (painting, arts and crafts) and families (candle making). There are also restaurants and shopping mall within a 10 minutes drive. It is a little pricey but worth it if you are looking to have some "resort" style fun.
