My husband and I stayed at this property on 4/11/25-4/13/25. Our 10 PM check-in was seamless. The two ladies at the front desk were helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. The only complaint I have is the fan which stays on in the bathroom. However, we just closed the bathroom door and he didn’t have any more issues. The continental breakfast in the morning was an 5 out of 10. The hotel is in a great location with many restaurants in the vicinity , and a 5 minute drive to the airport. I will definitely stay at this property again.
For individuals seeking lodging options through the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in Albany, New York, the Hampton Inn Albany-Wolf Road (Airport) stands as a prominent choice. Located at 10 Ulenski Dr, Albany, NY 12205, USA, this hotel is frequently utilized by travelers due to its strategic proximity to the Albany International Airport and major commercial areas. As a Hilton Honors brand property, it generally aims to provide a consistent and comfortable experience, though recent customer feedback indicates some temporary disruptions.
Environment:
The Hampton Inn Albany-Wolf Road (Airport) is situated in a highly convenient location, just a five-minute drive from Albany International Airport (ALB). This makes it an ideal choice for air travelers, offering a seamless connection to transportation hubs. Beyond the airport, its placement on Ulenski Drive positions it near the bustling Wolf Road corridor, which is a significant commercial district in Albany. This area is home to numerous restaurants and shopping centers, including Colonie Center Mall (approximately 1.5 miles away) and Crossgates Mall (approximately 4.7 miles away), providing ample options for dining and retail therapy within a short drive. The hotel's immediate external environment is typical of an airport-vicinity lodging, focusing on accessibility rather than scenic views. However, a recent and significant aspect of the hotel's environment has been ongoing construction. Guests have reported that the lobby area has been "very dusty and noisy," and "unusable during their working hours for gatherings." This construction has also impacted accessibility, with the "back entrance to the lobby closed," forcing guests to navigate around to other entrances. Parking has also been affected, becoming "limited to the back lot," which, combined with the closed entrance, has made ingress and egress difficult, particularly during the "NY winter time." These temporary conditions present a challenging environment for guests seeking quiet and unobstructed access. Despite these disruptions, some guests have noted their rooms to be "clean" upon arrival. However, a "musty smell" in rooms has also been reported by some, indicating a potential issue with air quality that might be exacerbated by the construction.
Services:
The Hampton Inn Albany-Wolf Road (Airport) offers a range of services typical of the Hampton Inn brand, generally focusing on guest convenience and comfort. A key service is the complimentary airport shuttle, available from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM upon request, which significantly enhances its value for airport travelers. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, providing seamless check-in and assistance at any time, as evidenced by a "seamless" 10 PM check-in experience. Staff members are consistently praised for being "helpful and accommodating," even amidst construction disturbances. The hotel provides a complimentary continental breakfast, though one recent review rated it a "5 out of 10," suggesting there might be room for improvement in its offerings or quality. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, a crucial amenity for both business and leisure travelers. For those with vehicles, complimentary self-parking is offered, with extended parking available for a daily fee. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats for an extra charge, although pets cannot be left unattended. Additional services include dry cleaning/laundry services, a computer station, and free newspapers in the lobby. Despite the construction, staff members, particularly those at the front desk and breakfast service, are noted for their politeness and helpfulness, indicating a strong commitment to guest satisfaction even under challenging circumstances. The hotel aims to provide a reliable and accommodating experience consistent with the Hampton Inn brand standards.
Features:
The Hampton Inn Albany-Wolf Road (Airport) is equipped with features designed for a comfortable and convenient stay. It offers 153 guest rooms, including king and queen bed options, and accessible rooms with features like bathtubs or roll-in showers. In-room amenities typically include a comfortable king-size bed, which one guest found "very comfortable," a flat-screen TV, a compact refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee/tea maker, an iron/ironing board, and a desk with a laptop-friendly workspace. Complimentary wired and wireless internet access is available in all rooms. A notable feature mentioned by a guest is a "fan which stays on in the bathroom," which can be managed by closing the bathroom door. The hotel also offers a fitness center, although recent information suggests it might be a "free use of a nearby fitness facility" rather than one on-site, requiring guests to travel. The lobby area, when not impacted by construction, features comfortable seating and aims to be a welcoming communal space. For business needs, the hotel provides a meeting room and conference space. Pet-friendly rooms are a specific feature, allowing guests to travel with their furry companions. The presence of eco-friendly toiletries and LED light bulbs also indicates an effort towards sustainable practices. While typically boasting reliable features, the current construction work has temporarily affected the usability of some common areas, such as the lobby, and created limitations on certain entrances and parking.
Promotional Information:
The Hampton Inn Albany-Wolf Road (Airport) promotes itself primarily on its brand reputation for reliability and its convenient location. For "Hotels Near Of Me" users, its close proximity to Albany International Airport (ALB) and major roadways is a significant selling point, often highlighted alongside its complimentary airport shuttle service. The inclusion of free hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi are standard Hampton Inn brand promotions that appeal to a wide range of travelers. The hotel's pet-friendly policy serves as a targeted promotional aspect for guests traveling with animals. Positive customer reviews frequently commend the "great location with many restaurants in the vicinity," making it attractive for those seeking dining options without extensive travel. The "seamless" check-in process and friendly staff also contribute to its promotional appeal, indicating a focus on efficient and pleasant service. However, it's crucial for the hotel to transparently communicate ongoing construction work, as the lack of prior notification has negatively impacted guest experiences and perception of value. While some guests like its convenience and comfort, others have expressed dissatisfaction due to construction noise, dust, limited access, and parking issues, which could deter potential bookings. Despite these challenges, the consistent praise for staff helpfulness during these times serves as a strong, albeit indirect, promotional message about their dedication. For Hilton Honors members, the brand loyalty often draws them to this property, but the current state of renovations might test that loyalty, underscoring the importance of managing expectations during promotional efforts.

Apr 13, 2025 · sholonda WilliamsWhen we travel we always stay at a Hampton Inn being an Honors member. Unfortunately if we knew this Hampton had construction going on we would have chosen another place to stay. The lobby was very dusty and noisy. Lobby Area unusable during their working hours for gatherings. The back entrance to the lobby was closed due to the construction making you walk around to the side or front. Parking was also limited to the back lot as well so not having that entrance made things hard. Not fun in the NY winter time. The room seemed clean but had a musty smell to it. Not to mention the car in the parking lot with the car alarm going off all night. This in know way reflects the desk and breakfast staff they were polite and helpful. I wish we would have know about all the work being done before we booked, it should have been mentioned on their website about the construction. Just a bad experience to what we were accustomed to at Hampton Inn. It’s hard to believe the recent reviews rate this Hampton so high.
Feb 07, 2025 · Rick Mstaff was friendly, but unfortunately this has to be one of the least comfortable Hampton inn's relative to the price... $142 for one night, and it would have been $15 more booking with Hilton. So if you're a diamond member, they obviously don't recognize that status booking with a third party. So it's really a MEMBERSHIP being with Hilton, even though somehow they get away with it being called rewards. No benefits given, meaning that extra you pay booking through Hilton, is paying for their "rewards," aka bottle of water and trail mix, supposedly faster Internet, and bonus points for the booking. The bed, pillows, and towels must have been close to 20 years old since the bed sagged, pillows were flat, and the towels being so scratchy and with holes. Bathroom was gross with stains in multiple areas, while the toilet sometimes flushed. checking in at 10pm after an 11hour drive, I still couldn't get a late check out. Easily can stay at a "lower class" motel/hotel and get the same things in the area.
Apr 06, 2025 · Casey FrankfortDrove from Maryland, The place had missing ceiling tiles, missing floor tiles and wasn’t clean. The elevator had a huge stain on the floor. The room smelled strongly of mildew. The bed had long hairs, brown specks, and red and white stains. We left that night and they said that they would give a refund the next day. Do not recommend at all the place is nothing like the pictures!
Apr 25, 2025 · Hailey ZilskiI expect more from Hampton & Hilton. Nit: mattress that was creaky and severely sunken in the middle; a stain on the toilet seat; or no toothbrush “only mouthwash, sir”. For $199 it was one of the worst values in decades of stays in Hampton. Avoid this property, regardless of how convenient to ALB.
