I have no issues with the hotel stay. I enjoyed the reason why I came there. We checked in March 14th. Checked out on the 15th. My room was $188 I was charged a holding fee of $74 a total of $262 for my stay. I didn't mind because I was told I would receive my refund of $74 in 3 to 5 business days. Today is March 27th. I still haven't received my refund. I called the hotel and the manager said he would look into it, to date has never called me back. I went to another hotel for business purposes. I checked in on March 24th, and I Checked out on March 26th. I just woke up at 4:51am to use the restroom and today is March 27th. I received my refund. I called Staybridge to acquire about my refund and I am now being told it takes two full weeks to receive my refund. March 28th will make to full weeks not including weekends. If my refund isn't deposited into my account I will be asking for a full refund and I will never be staying at this hotel ever again.

Environment and Ambiance:
Staybridge Suites properties are designed to foster a sense of community and comfort, reflecting their extended-stay focus. The common areas, including the lobby and dining spaces, are typically warm, inviting, and conducive to both relaxation and productivity. The decor often combines modern elements with comfortable furnishings, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's location on Wolf Road means it is in a lively area with numerous dining, shopping, and entertainment options, including the Colonie Center, which is a major draw. Despite this busy setting, the hotel aims to provide a peaceful retreat within its premises.
A guest review highlights several positive aspects of the environment. The provision of a handicap accessible room with an "open floor plan" and thoughtful features like an extra floor drain and two shower heads in the bathroom demonstrates a commitment to accessibility and guest comfort. This attention to detail in room design contributes significantly to a positive environmental perception, especially for guests with specific needs. Furthermore, the observation that "the tv’s in the area weren’t blaring and had the closed captioning on" speaks to a considerate and guest-friendly atmosphere in common areas, ensuring a more serene experience for all patrons. The overall impression of the room being "clean" further reinforces the positive aspects of the hotel's environment.
However, it is important to address a significant concern raised by a past guest regarding financial transparency and communication. The issue of a delayed refund for a holding fee, coupled with conflicting information from staff and a lack of follow-up from management, severely impacts the perception of trust and reliability. This experience, while not directly related to the physical environment, deeply affects a guest's overall comfort and willingness to return. Such issues, particularly for local users who might rely on prompt and clear transactions, can significantly tarnish the hotel's reputation, irrespective of its physical attributes.
Services and Amenities:
Staybridge Suites prides itself on offering a comprehensive suite of services and amenities, designed to enhance the extended-stay experience. These typically include:
The staff received positive mentions for being "friendly and empathetic," with no "attitudes in their interactions with patrons." This speaks to a generally high standard of direct customer service. However, the severe issues with refund processing and lack of follow-up from management, as detailed in one review, represent a significant service failure that overshadows otherwise positive interactions. For a hotel relying on repeat business and positive word-of-mouth through platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me," efficient and transparent financial processes are as crucial as polite staff. The customer's threat to "never be staying at this hotel ever again" and demand for a "full refund" if the issue is not resolved underscore the gravity of this service lapse.
Features and Unique Selling Points:
Staybridge Suites Albany Wolf Rd-Colonie Center's primary unique selling propositions revolve around its extended-stay model and its commitment to guest comfort and convenience. The fully equipped kitchens in every suite are a major draw, allowing guests to maintain their routines and save on dining expenses. The consistent and high-quality complimentary hot breakfast, featuring a good variety of options including proteins, sets it apart from many competitors who have scaled back on breakfast offerings.
The thoughtful accessibility features in handicap accessible rooms, such as the open floor plan and specialized bathroom amenities, demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and a superior guest experience for those with special needs. Daily housekeeping, a service increasingly rare in extended-stay properties, is another significant feature that enhances the comfort and cleanliness of the stay, contributing to the feeling of a well-maintained home away from home. The "The Social" evening receptions also stand out as a unique communal feature, fostering interaction and providing added value.
Its location on Wolf Road, within close proximity to Colonie Center, is a practical advantage for local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," offering immediate access to a wide array of retail, dining, and entertainment options. The hotel’s commitment to providing a range of coffee options and ensuring common area TVs are not disruptive further exemplifies its attention to guest comfort and preferences.
Promotional Information:
For the most current promotional information, guests should always refer to the official IHG website or directly contact Staybridge Suites Albany Wolf Rd-Colonie Center at (518) 438-3300 or +1 518-438-3300. IHG frequently offers various deals, including discounts for IHG One Rewards members, extended stay rates, seasonal promotions, and packages that may include local experiences or dining credits. Given its extended-stay nature, the hotel is likely to offer more attractive rates for longer bookings. For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," it is advisable to inquire about any localized promotions, last-minute availability, or special corporate rates if applicable. Potential guests should always confirm holding fees and refund policies clearly before booking to avoid issues like the one experienced by a past guest, ensuring full transparency in financial transactions.
In conclusion, Staybridge Suites Albany Wolf Rd-Colonie Center by IHG offers a compelling and feature-rich option for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Albany, NY. Its strengths lie in its dedicated extended-stay amenities, including full kitchens, excellent complimentary breakfast, daily housekeeping, and a generally comfortable environment with empathetic staff. Mar 27, 2025 · Erica MorrowI had a handicap accessible room so the floor plan was more open to be able to get around easier. The bathroom had an extra floor drain which I thought was a good idea. Also it had two shower heads so if someone needed a traditional one they could use it instead of the other. I wasn’t able to take part of The Social due to my conference, but that is a great idea. I also appreciated the options for breakfast as it seems many hotels are cutting back on the quality and food options. It wasn’t just a bunch of carbohydrates, but eggs, bacon, sausage and yogurt. I LOVED that they had coffee options -decaf, regular and robust! I also appreciated that the tv’s in the area weren’t blaring and had the closed captioning on. The staff were friendly and empathetic. I did not notice any attitudes in their interactions with patrons. My room was clean, and there was housekeeping every day! Another thing that has been disappearing at other hotels. My tip to patrons is to tip your housekeeping every day so they’ll keep doing it. I ended my stay so much that I am going to seek out this chain when I travel now.
Feb 05, 2025 · Kari WendelRoom standard, service awful and location has good access to several restaurants. I didn’t write a review when we stayed at Staybridge last year for my daughter’s 7th birthday although we should have. It was a disastrous night. Our room wasn’t ready until a little after 3. We spent the majority of our time in the pool area. The hot tub was actually hot that was a plus but besides that and the breakfast in the morning our stay was horrible. We spent the majority of our time at the pool my daughter and her friends. A group of women was playing loud rap music while the 7 yrs old were in the hot tub with them the whole time. Then we head upstairs to wash up and relax before bed. There is literally water pouring down from the ceilings on two levels on the walk back to the room, falling into big garbage bins (like they’ve done this before.) They ended up having to turn the water off for over an hour and a half. The girls were itchy and complaining because they could not shower and wash off the chlorine off their skin. They were not informative of what was going on at all. We just kept calling and asking when the water would be on every 20 mins. The girls ended up in tears by the time the water was back on. The gym had machines we couldn’t use in the morning so we just head to breakfast. The waffles were my daughters favorite part. We never got ANY accommodations or offers of accommodations at checkout. When they asked how was the stay, because we just had breakfast and that was the girls favorite they mentioned they enjoyed the breakfast. I didn’t even make a fuss about the night because a friend paid for the room for my daughter so I left it alone. I seen the same manager this weekend as I was looking to occupy my girls while I finished a work presentation and I know the girls would be occupied with the hot tub and my daughter was looking forward to the breakfast. I was on a $150 budget for the night and I asked them if they can give me a federal employee rate (as i am a federal employee) or help me out with a discount and brought up the nightmare of a night we went thru and asked if they can even pull back up that transaction and seen we paid full price that night. The front guy kept quoting me 181.00 for one night. They didn’t budge at all for me. The manager Sherwin wouldnt even come out although I asked for him specifically (stating he was in a meeting) just kept telling the guys at the front there’s nothing he can do. Then why are you the manager?!? You do have power to do something you just chose not too. Just Awful customer service last yr and this yr. Shame on you. Unless a night like last yr is a recurring thing you would have remembered that disaster of a night precisely and could of had some mercy. Shame on you. Save your money and skip this hotel. They are soo many on the same road. Spend it with someone who has quality customer service.
Apr 23, 2025 · Natoyia DrakesThe room was great with a little kitchenette and lots of space. The pool is heated (cool, but not cold) and the hot tub was nice after driving. Breakfast had a bunch of options; typical American fair. We had a streaming issue that they continued to work on and got working for our second night (wires not plugged in right). Even in that, everyone was kind and didn’t act like we were being obnoxious by asking for it to work. I appreciated all their smiles and good attitude even on Christmas. Location is good for specific purposes I am sure, but not in a spot for walking out touring local stuff; it is in a mall.
Dec 28, 2024 · Anita de Roover-HaleMy family and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights as I had to travel to Albany for work. My husband and 4 year old daughter joined me for the trip. It is a great and convenient location that is outside of the main/downtown city in a nice area by a big shopping mall and lots of restaurants. It is an extremely accessible location to commute from. We were blown away by our hotel experience from check in to the delicious hot buffet breakfast every morning and to our surprise free dinner and drinks Monday through Wednesday! We had ravioli and cheesy breadsticks on Monday, Tuesday General tso chicken with pork fried rice and egg rolls, wednesday macaroni with chicken and bacon and mushrooms to top it with! Wine and beer free on tap during dinner along with fountain drinks. Bonfire ever evening in the back with cozy chairs. Big grass area great for my daughter to run around her energy. Apartment style hotel room with comfortable beds, clean, and very updated. Anytime I have to come up here this will be my spot. My husband and daughter also had a blast at the pool. Thank you Staybridge Suites!
