This is a fairly new hotel in a convenient location. They have a bar and the lobby can get crowded and noisy at night. There's a private parking garage that you access with your room key. I enjoyed my first stay here greatly. My only complaint is that there were a few drunk people in the adjacent rooms opening and closing doors late at night on my second stay here.

While many praise the hotel's cleanliness and location, some reviews indicate a lack of consistent customer service, particularly at the front desk. Issues such as not being greeted as a loyalty program member, having to ask for expected amenities like snacks and water, and encountering unhelpful responses regarding room or TV issues have been noted. The hotel also permits pets for an extra charge, a feature that appeals to a segment of travelers. The lobby bar, while potentially noisy, is a key amenity that could be promoted for evening socializing. Special offers related to local Decatur events or attractions, such as partnerships with nearby restaurants or shops, could also enhance its appeal to local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me."
In summary, the Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Decatur/Emory offers a modern, well-equipped stay in a highly desirable location in downtown Decatur. Its newness, complimentary breakfast, indoor pool, and private parking are significant advantages. Apr 21, 2025 · Edward BouyerStarted off poor at check-in. Was not greeted as a Diamond member, was not given my snacks or waters and had to ask for them. Customer service is lacking big time here. Just not friendly at all- More of an inconvenience to the front desk workers. Stayed in room T02 which I thought was the top floor but it is the basement next to the gym. Only two rooms down there. I got one of the blue screen TV’s and when I called they would not move me or replace the TV. They offered snacks from the snack bar or waived parking fee. Many people have left reviews about the TV’s here and they are 100% true. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Won’t stay here again.
May 14, 2025 · J. UnderhillMy family and I were only in town for 1 night. The room was clean and decently sized for the four of us. I had a nice conversation with Thilytha who was managing the front desk. She was informative and helpful. If my son gets into Emory, I'm sure we'll be back.
Apr 05, 2025 · MATTHEW GILMOREFirst impressions of these rooms will wow you. So spacious and well appointed! Oh wait. The longer you spend in your room, the more you discover issues. Some of the same issues presented by other, not new reviews. That's why I'm also posting a review. It would seem there is a major issue with defective TV's with a primarily blue screen. I had read reviews of three rooms with this issue, and in addition to my own saw two other rooms on my floor with the same problem during my visit. The handle on our sink faucet wasn't secured. The shower faucet was also loose on the wall. Worse than anything was the layout of the bathroom. While we appreciated the solid door on the toilet/shower, it made for a very awkward maneuvering from the shower- that's if you could even SEE, because there's a motion sensor controlling the single light of the area located OUTSIDE the toilet/shower room. It went completely pitch dark on us too many times in spite of trying to remember this flaw. Simplest change they need to implement immediately is replacing them with switches or even a longer timer if they need an auto-shutoff. I'm surprised there hasn't been any injuries or law suits. Last minor quibble is there isn't enough lighting in the space. 1/2 of the room with the sofa will be too dark to utilize in the evening. Each room needs at least the addition of a floor lamp in that area. Breakfast is good, at or just above par. Location is a very short walk to many better dining options including B-Side bagels. Rooms and common areas are otherwise nice enough, but they need address these issues for the value to be there. Unfortunately the bathroom layout is baked in. I'd look elsewhere for now.
Jan 27, 2025 · David AndoraWe had a great experience at this hotel. The front desk staff (multiple shifts) were very kind and helpful and the location was convenient to everything. There is a small parking fee, but the lot is attached to the hotel and super easy to access. Lots of restaurants etc. in the area.
