Overpriced rooms and terrible management. Filled with roaches for 15 straight years yet for some reason, they still insist on doing the bare minimum to fix it. They knocked on my door and told me: "You can't refuse." Then came in for 5 seconds and left two pools of pesticides on the floor by the bathroom doorway. Guess what? There's still just as many roaches as before. They also have a housekeeping policy that requires them to come inside your room and check for damages every week. If you lock the door, they peek inside. For what? If I damaged the stove, microwave, TV, sink, shower, minifridge, or toilet, peeking inside my room like that wouldn't reveal anything. Literally all it does is invade my privacy and piss me off so they can check a box for their scumbag landlords. They also say they have security every night but in reality it only shows up half the time and it always shows up late. If it's dark outside and you get locked out of your room because one of their cheap keycards decides to stop working, good luck. The office is closed and no one is there. The two phone numbers they leave on the door just for these situations will go to voicemail every time. And if security decides not to show up that night, I hope you have someone reliable to call, because this place certainly isn't. It's abundantly clear they don't care at all. Also my room smelled like cigarette smoke when I got here.

Metro Hotel presents itself as an option for those seeking extended stays in Decatur, Georgia. As with any accommodation, experiences can vary, and it's essential to consider all facets before making a booking. We will delve into aspects like the environment, services offered, key features, and some general promotional information, drawing from available online information and customer feedback.

Environment and Atmosphere:

The overall environment of Metro Hotel appears to be a subject of varied guest experiences. One perspective highlights a "nice, clean, well managed hotel" with a "very peaceful stay," suggesting an atmosphere conducive to relaxation and quiet. This guest specifically noted the absence of "loud music, or children running around all times of the evenings," which can be a significant draw for those seeking a tranquil extended stay experience. Such an environment would appeal to business travelers, individuals relocating, or anyone desiring a more serene setting for their temporary residence. A peaceful atmosphere can contribute significantly to guest comfort, allowing for restful nights and a sense of calm during the day. The perceived good management also points towards a potentially well-maintained and orderly environment, where common areas are kept clean and policies are enforced to ensure a pleasant experience for all.

Conversely, another account paints a starkly different picture. This review describes the hotel as "filled with roaches for 15 straight years," indicating a severe and persistent issue with cleanliness and pest control. The description of "two pools of pesticides on the floor by the bathroom doorway" after a brief and seemingly ineffective intervention suggests a significant challenge in maintaining a hygienic environment. Furthermore, the report of a room smelling like "cigarette smoke" upon arrival suggests issues with air quality and potentially a lax enforcement of non-smoking policies, which can significantly detract from the comfort and health of guests, especially for extended stays where a clean and fresh living space is paramount. The presence of pests and unpleasant odors can severely impact a guest's perception of cleanliness and overall well-being, making it difficult to feel at ease or truly settled in for a prolonged period.

Services and Policies:

Metro Hotel offers services that cater to extended stay guests, including what appears to be regular housekeeping. However, the implementation of these services has drawn mixed reactions. One guest mentions a "housekeeping policy that requires them to come inside your room and check for damages every week." While routine checks for damages are common in extended stay accommodations to protect the property, the manner in which this is reportedly executed raises concerns about guest privacy. The complaint that "If you lock the door, they peek inside" and that this practice "invade my privacy and piss me off" suggests a lack of transparency or perhaps an overly intrusive approach to property checks. Effective communication and respectful procedures are crucial for maintaining guest satisfaction, particularly for long-term residents who value their personal space.

Regarding security, the hotel reportedly claims to have "security every night." However, one guest's experience contradicts this, stating that security "only shows up half the time and it always shows up late." This inconsistency in security presence can be a significant concern for guests, especially regarding personal safety and property security. The reported issues with keycards ceasing to work and the office being closed with unresponsive phone numbers for emergencies further highlight potential gaps in guest support and crisis management. For an extended stay, having reliable support and clear protocols for issues like lockouts is essential for guest peace of mind and convenience. The implication that "no one is there" and phone numbers go to voicemail suggests a lack of 24/7 front desk service or on-call staff, which is a critical amenity for any hotel, let alone one catering to extended stays where guests may encounter issues at any hour.

Features and Amenities:

Based on the provided information, Metro Hotel rooms likely include standard extended stay amenities such as a stove, microwave, TV, sink, shower, minifridge, and toilet. These features are typical for accommodations designed for longer stays, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and have more of a home-like experience. The presence of these amenities is generally a positive aspect for extended stay guests, as it reduces the need to eat out frequently and provides a sense of independence and self-sufficiency. However, the effectiveness and maintenance of these appliances are crucial for guest satisfaction, especially if they are frequently used during an extended stay. The negative review's mention of "peeking inside my room like that wouldn't reveal anything" regarding these appliances indirectly confirms their presence.

Promotional Information and Guest Considerations:

While specific promotional offers are not detailed, the general objective of an extended stay hotel like Metro Hotel is to provide a more affordable and convenient option for long-term accommodation compared to traditional nightly hotel rates. The "Hotels Near Of Me" platform would highlight Metro Hotel as a potential solution for individuals or families needing a temporary home in Decatur, GA. This could include people on business assignments, those undergoing home renovations, or individuals new to the area seeking permanent housing.

For potential guests, it is crucial to weigh the various aspects mentioned. The positive feedback suggests that for some, Metro Hotel provides a genuinely peaceful and well-managed experience, with friendly and professional staff. This type of environment can be ideal for those prioritizing quiet and a sense of order. However, the significant concerns raised by other guests regarding pest control, privacy intrusions from housekeeping, inconsistent security, and unresponsive emergency contacts cannot be overlooked. These issues point to potential challenges in guest comfort, safety, and overall service reliability. When considering an extended stay, factors such as a truly clean environment, reliable security, and responsive staff become even more critical due to the duration of the stay. Prospective guests are encouraged to consider these contrasting viewpoints and perhaps conduct further due diligence before committing to a long-term stay at Metro Hotel.

In summary, Metro Hotel, available through platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me," offers extended stay accommodations in Decatur, GA. Its environment and services appear to deliver varied experiences, ranging from peaceful and well-managed stays to challenging encounters with cleanliness and service reliability. As with any booking, especially for extended periods, it is advisable for individuals to assess their specific needs and preferences against the available information to ensure a suitable and comfortable stay.

Nice, clean, well managed hotel with friendly, and very professional staff. No loud music, or children running around all times of the evenings. Very peaceful stay and I will certainly be going back!

Nice small place for short stays tucked neatly away in lovely Decatur. Multiple food and shopping options within walking distance, ample parking, vending machines. The rooms come with a refrigerator, microwave, and electric stovetop scattered throughout the 3 floors. The only issues encountered were the unrealistic amount of roaches that spawned from thin air. This apparently is a common complaint, luckily had my own bug spray.

If I could give no stars I would. I stayed here for 1 month. The worst place to live. The rent was 500.00 a week. The first room I was in had water coming out of the floor. I was moved to another room the was infected with mold. I inform the manager Mike and he was very nonchalant about the matter. I had shoe and clothes that was molded and he told me that that was my problem not the hotel. The pillows and dresser were also full of mold

Keep receipts, pay attention to your charges. They stole $75 cash deposit from me, then charged my card for another $50. Tim is the Manager who keep stealing. He will always say there's an extra charge on the room but they go back in the system and change the charges. He harrassed me for an extra $25 to check back in and claim it was another deposit. $150 im out of for "deposits." They change manager every few months. No weekly amenities at all. Roaches everywhere, maintenance takes forever, and a lot of drug dealing
