The hotel's location offers proximity to this significant landmark, which can be a draw for tourists and nature enthusiasts. Stone Mountain itself is a suburb of Atlanta, providing access to urban amenities while being distinct from the bustling city center. The immediate vicinity of the hotel, as indicated by various online sources, is a mixed-use area. While general information about Stone Mountain highlights its natural beauty and recreational opportunities, it is crucial for potential guests to consider the specific street environment of Memorial Drive. Guest reviews, as detailed below, unfortunately indicate significant concerns regarding the safety and immediate surroundings of the property itself, with mentions of serious incidents and security issues. This suggests that while the broader Stone Mountain area offers attractions, the direct environment of this particular lodge may present challenges that impact guest comfort and safety.
As an extended stay property, Live In Lodge - Stone Mountain, GA, aims to provide basic conveniences for guests planning longer visits. Key features generally associated with extended stay hotels, and mentioned in connection with this property, include rooms equipped with kitchenettes. These typically feature essentials such as a microwave, refrigerator, and sometimes a stovetop, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and reduce dining costs. The hotel is noted to offer free parking and Wi-Fi, which are standard and appreciated amenities for guests traveling by car or requiring internet access. Some sources also mention that the hotel is pet-friendly, though charges may apply, which is a consideration for travelers with animals. The check-in time is noted to be from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and check-out is from 12:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Private check-in and check-out services are also listed. However, it's critical to note that despite the listed amenities, some guest reviews highlight issues with the management's policies regarding room cleanliness, such as fines for trash in cans or dishes in the sink, which could impact the perceived value and comfort of the stay.
The rooms at Live In Lodge - Stone Mountain, GA are described as unfussy and simply furnished, aligning with a budget-friendly extended stay model. The primary feature, as expected for an extended stay, is the inclusion of kitchenettes within the rooms. These kitchenettes are typically equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and sometimes a stovetop, enabling guests to prepare simple meals. Rooms are also generally equipped with a flat-screen TV. Beyond these functional elements, details on specific room types or luxury features are limited, consistent with its budget hotel classification. The emphasis is on practicality and providing the necessary facilities for a self-sufficient longer stay rather than on luxury or extensive in-room amenities. Some sources mention balconies in certain room types, and air conditioning is generally expected. It is also noted that the rooms have private bathrooms with standard toiletries. The overall impression from descriptions is that the rooms are functional and provide the basics for a temporary residence.
As a budget extended stay hotel, Live In Lodge - Stone Mountain, GA primarily promotes itself through affordability for longer durations. Unlike full-service hotels that often run seasonal promotions or loyalty programs, extended stay properties like this typically offer competitive weekly or monthly rates that are lower per night compared to daily rates. The appeal lies in the cost savings associated with extended stays, particularly for individuals or families needing temporary housing, those on business assignments, or travelers looking for a more independent stay with cooking facilities. Specific, ongoing promotional offers are not widely advertised, but guests are encouraged to contact the hotel directly for current rates and availability, especially for longer bookings. The hotel's value proposition is centered on providing functional accommodation at a lower price point than traditional hotels, appealing to those who prioritize budget and self-catering options over extensive services or luxury.
The guest reviews for Live In Lodge - Stone Mountain, GA, present a stark contrast to typical hotel feedback and highlight significant concerns that potential guests must seriously consider. Unlike general complaints about minor inconveniences, these reviews describe severe safety issues and highly problematic management practices. One review explicitly details a violent incident where a room was "shot up" along with multiple other rooms, the vending machine, steps, and several cars, implying a grave security deficiency. The reviewer mentioned having children present and narrowly avoiding tragedy, expressing distress over the hotel's "no refund policy" and denial of credit for another location despite the terrifying circumstances and damage to their vehicle. This indicates a profound lack of concern for guest safety and well-being in the face of extreme events. Another review corroborates a troubling environment, mentioning "shoot out everyday" and "kids walking around with guns and people getting high outside," while simultaneously stating that management imposes fines for trivial issues like trash in cans or dishes in the sink, suggesting a misplaced focus on minor infractions rather than addressing critical security concerns. These reviews paint a picture of a property where guest safety is severely compromised and management responses are inadequate or even detrimental. Therefore, while the hotel may offer an extended stay format with kitchenettes and parking, the reported environment and management practices raise significant red flags that prospective guests should weigh heavily before considering a booking, especially if traveling with family or seeking a secure environment.

Mar 15, 2025 · Takila KnightonPaid for a room for a week, 2nd day it was shot up along with 3-4 other rooms and the vending machine and the steps and a few people cars. I had my children with me, by the grace of god I laid my babies down early because had they been standing up on the bed or jumping we would’ve lost one of our babies. They have a no refund policy which is understood, I asked to be credited to go to another haven they have at another location and unfortunately I was told they couldn’t which is blowing me because I had to pay for both my front and back window to be repaired to my car , along with dodging bullets and asked to be moved to another room, but was denied. Along with having to move my children a day after paying the weekly to another hotel. I need to speak to management
Feb 28, 2025 · Tacasha PorchI paid for a room for a week and I have three children and a grandson. After giving me the room key and me getting the kids settled I get called to the office to tell me I have to choose between the kids as to which child is going to be inside the room. I asked if I could get a second room because all four children are minors and they told me no. I asked for a refund and they told me that I can’t get a refund but I need to decide which one of the children will be staying and which one will be leaving. I’m not putting kids outside in a hotel nor do I have money to throw away.
