For $80 a night on a weekend, it's overpriced simply because of horrible the experience and stay was. The room was filthy, the mattress and sheets were covered in all kinds of stains, hairs, dirt, and bits of who-knows-what. There was an outdated TV, microwave, and fridge. The carpet was dark and smelly, the bathroom looked like it came out of a horror movie, there was a neat little pile of dead bugs on the tray with the ice bucket, two of the lights didn't work, and it took about 20 minutes for me to figure out how to get the TV to work since it wasn't preset to the channel with the cable output. The rags and towels that were provided were dingy and heavily stained, and I don't even want to know what the sticky stuff all over the remote was. I couldn't lock my door since it looked like it had been kicked in since the latch wasn't there anymore, and the top part wouldn't align with the frame. If trying to find a decent place to put my things down somewhere and figure out how I was going to sleep in that nasty bed wasn't enough, the walls were paper thin. Every door slam, cough, whisper, argument, and movement were as loud as if it were in the room right next to me! I tried to switch rooms, and it was the exact same as the first one. Since I was tired and it was late, I just settled. Very disappointing stay for $80. I at least hoped for a pop tart or something for breakfast, but there's only an overpriced vending machine with few good choices. It was definitely not worth that amount. The rooms are completely outdated and dirty. It's way past time for a renovation. The only positive I can say about this place is that there are no up/down stairs, so that was a convenience to be parked right in front of the door. The location is right next to the freeway, so that is also convenient. It's not too far from plenty of good food and a little shopping.

Knights Inn Tucker Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a strong emphasis on budget-friendliness in the Tucker, Georgia, area, the Knights Inn Tucker, located at 2942 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084, USA, presents itself as an option. As part of the Knights Inn brand, it aims to provide no-frills, essential lodging. However, it is crucial to provide a transparent and objective introduction, as feedback from real customers for this property is highly varied, with significant negative experiences reported alongside its basic offerings.

Environment and Location

The Knights Inn Tucker is situated on Lawrenceville Highway, a key thoroughfare in Tucker, GA. Its location offers practical accessibility for travelers, particularly those driving, as it is positioned right next to Interstate 285 (specifically near Exit 38). This provides convenient access to various parts of the broader Atlanta metropolitan area. Key points of interest and accessibility include:

  • Highway Access: Its proximity to I-285 is a clear advantage for road travelers, allowing for easy navigation to and from the hotel.
  • Dining and Shopping: The area around Lawrenceville Highway offers a selection of fast-food establishments, casual dining options, and some local shopping opportunities, which can be found a short distance from the hotel. Northlake Mall is approximately 3 miles away.
  • Local Attractions: Popular attractions like Stone Mountain Park are within a reasonable driving distance (around 4 miles southeast). Emory University is approximately a 15-minute drive away.
  • Transportation: While not directly linked to public transit, the location's direct access to a major interstate facilitates travel by car. DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) is about 16 km away, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is approximately 26.2 km.

However, the immediate environment of the hotel, as described by some guests, raises concerns. The exterior design and property condition may appear outdated. The "no up/down stairs" design, allowing parking directly in front of the room door, is cited as a convenience by one guest, though it also contributes to the motel-like aesthetic. Reports of thin walls and external disturbances (such as loud arguments or police activity) suggest that the peace and quiet of the environment might be compromised, impacting the quality of sleep and overall comfort for some guests.

Services and Features

The Knights Inn Tucker offers a basic set of amenities geared towards budget-conscious travelers:

  • Room Amenities: The hotel comprises 94 rooms, all located on one level with exterior hallways. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, 40-inch flat-screen TVs with cable channels, and phones with free local calls. Hair dryers and ironing boards are generally available.
    • In-Room Appliances: While some official descriptions suggest microwaves and mini-refrigerators are in rooms, one customer review highlights these as optional, possibly incurring an extra charge. This inconsistency can lead to guest dissatisfaction.
  • Connectivity: Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas, a standard and essential amenity for modern travelers.
  • Recreation: The hotel features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, which is typically open during warmer months (April 15 to September 30).
  • Guest Services:
    • 24-Hour Front Desk: A round-the-clock front desk is available for check-in/check-out and general assistance.
    • Parking: Free self-parking is offered on-site, including space for larger vehicles, which is a significant advantage for those traveling with cars.
    • Daily Housekeeping: While listed as a service, guest reviews contradict this, indicating that rooms may not be cleaned or sheets changed during multi-night stays unless specifically requested (or even requiring a re-check-in for a fee, as reported by one guest, which is highly unusual). This is a critical point of concern for cleanliness expectations.
    • Vending Machines: For quick snacks and drinks, vending machines are on-site.
    • No Breakfast: Despite some general Knights Inn branding mentioning continental breakfast at participating locations, this specific property does not appear to offer complimentary breakfast. One guest specifically noted the absence of even a "pop tart" and only an "overpriced vending machine" for food.
    • Pet Policy: Information varies regarding pet-friendliness. While some sources indicate the hotel is pet-friendly for a fee, others state pets are not allowed. It is advisable to confirm directly with the hotel if traveling with pets.
Promotional Information and Guest Experience Insights

Knights Inn Tucker, as a brand, typically promotes itself as a straightforward, affordable lodging option with basic comforts. The convenience of its location right off the freeway and free parking are often highlighted. However, the promotional image contrasts sharply with many real customer experiences.

Common and severe concerns raised in multiple recent reviews include:

  • Extreme Lack of Cleanliness: This is the most prevalent and alarming issue. Guests report rooms being "filthy," with mattresses and sheets covered in "all kinds of stains, hairs, dirt, and bits of who-knows-what." Bathrooms are described as looking "like they came out of a horror movie," and there are reports of "dead bugs on the tray with the ice bucket." This indicates a systemic failure in maintaining basic hygiene standards.
  • Outdated and Poorly Maintained Rooms: Reviewers consistently describe rooms as "completely outdated," with old TVs, sticky remotes, non-functional lights, and smelly carpets. Issues with broken door latches and inability to properly lock doors are serious safety concerns.
  • Inconsistent and Rude Staff Behavior: While some basic politeness might be present, there are specific accounts of "dirty sheets" being provided even after requesting clean ones, and a cleaning lady with a "MAJOR attitude problem" entering a room without sufficient knocking, speaking a "national language" (implying a language barrier or disrespect), and slamming the door. This indicates a significant issue with professional conduct and guest service.
  • Noise Issues: "Paper thin" walls are a common complaint, leading to disturbances from neighboring rooms (door slams, conversations, arguments) and external noise (like police sirens blaring in the parking lot at 3 AM), severely impacting sleep quality.
  • Safety and Environment Concerns: Beyond individual room issues, the broader environment of the hotel is sometimes depicted as unsafe or attracting undesirable activities, with one review directly stating it's a "spot to find some drugs, or bring a prostitute." This is a severe indictment of the property's overall management and security.
  • Value for Money: Despite the low price point, many guests feel the experience does not justify the cost (e.g., "$80 a night on a weekend, it's overpriced"). The lack of a basic breakfast, and the need to pay extra for microwaves/fridges, further detract from the perceived value.

In summary, the Knights Inn Tucker at 2942 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA, is a budget-tier hotel primarily catering to travelers seeking the absolute lowest price point for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Tucker area. While it offers free parking, free Wi-Fi, and an outdoor pool, prospective guests should be extremely cautious and set very low expectations regarding cleanliness, room condition, staff professionalism, and overall safety and comfort. The volume and severity of negative reviews suggest that major renovations and significant improvements in management and guest services are critically needed. This hotel appears to be suitable only for those who prioritize the lowest possible cost above all other considerations, and even then, may encounter substantial inconveniences and discomforts.

For inquiries, the hotel can be reached at (770) 934-5060 or +1 770-934-5060. Given the nature of the reviews, direct communication to confirm specific amenities and policies before booking is highly recommended.

I am currently staying here until I move into my new place and my stay here has been nothing short of NICE! My room and sheets were dirty (has red marks ALL over them) I asked yesterday for clean sheets and they proceeded to STILL give me dirty sheets and I have newborns. The cleaning lady has a MAJOR attitude problem, walks inside of the room only knocking once and I was naked feeding my child she talks in her national language and when I informed her that I don’t understand she slammed my door… please train your staff bc the next time won’t be so nice

If I could post the pictures of someone dirty tampon I found behind the bed I would. Also, on the shower curtains it is blood on it. The towels are very dingy. The comforters have holes in them. I have pictures of these items I am listing on here. I expect for the rooms to be spotless clean including the towels shower curtains and comforters. I had a hotel voucher for this hotel and earlier I was trying to receive a receipt for it and the owner tells me I am not allowed to receive a receipt because I am not the one who paid for it. Then the housekeepers doesn't speak English so I have no clue what the lady is saying. I will not recommend this hotel to no one!! I have young babies who are busy bodies and like touching everything and putting their mouth and face on stuff. This is unacceptable for me!

This place was free, so I can't say toooooo much, but what I will say is, the owners take no pride in these rooms. The pillow cases and sheets were filthy. I had eyeliner on my sheets and pillowcases from the last guest. I told the manager and he said housekeeping was gone for the day. Luckily, I travel with everything! Bedding, cleaning supplies, and my Swiffer! So in this case, where it was free, I had to go in and "turnkey" clean the room for my 3 day stay. They honestly, could grab some new sheets and bedding from the Goodwill and come out better. They can't be using any detergent at all on the linens. The towels were hard and so dingy! Ugh!! I also watched the housekeepers and maintenance ppl, obviously family members of the owner,/ manager, helping themselves to a guests alcohol. There were 4/5 of them in the room together, just pouring up the guests beverages. They closed the door when they saw me watching & shaking my head at them. So I knew to keep everything in my vehicle. The exterior is kept clean, but these ppl could care less about hospitality or a guest. On a good note, I only saw 1 roach in 3 days.🎉🎉🎉😂🤣🤣🤣
