This hotel was horrible besides the receptionist! Never in my 26years have I stayed at a hotel and the shower was dirty, no one came to the room to clean the trash, change the sheets or give us new towels. Even the sheets kept rolling up! That has never happened before. Also, my personal soap went missing, while the hotel did not provide soap in the bathroom. Incidentals at this hotel are $100. That is way too much for the amount of service we did not receive. I will never stay at this hotel and I would not recommend this hotel. It felt more like a motel 6, than a Marriott! Melinda was great tho! She was so sweet!

Courtyard Atlanta Northlake Introduce

For those navigating the "Hotels Near Of Me" landscape in the Atlanta metropolitan area, specifically within the Tucker and Northlake district, the Courtyard Atlanta Northlake, an IHG property, presents itself as an option. Located at 4083 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084, USA, this hotel is positioned to serve travelers seeking accommodations in the area. The hotel can be reached at (770) 938-1200 or +1 770-938-1200.

Environment and Location

The Courtyard Atlanta Northlake is situated near the Northlake business district, offering a convenient location for access to various commercial and recreational points of interest. Its proximity to major roadways, including I-285, facilitates travel throughout Atlanta. The hotel is close to Northlake Mall, providing readily available shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Other popular attractions within a reasonable driving distance include Stone Mountain Park, Emory University, and the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center. The hotel also provides free self-parking for guests, a practical amenity in this area. While the location itself is generally considered convenient, some guest reviews highlight concerns about the immediate environment, with one guest mentioning that "The entire building smelled like weed" in the hallways, which detracts from the overall atmosphere for non-smoking guests.

Services and Amenities

The Courtyard Atlanta Northlake aims to provide a range of services and amenities typically associated with the Courtyard brand. Key offerings include complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the property, which is crucial for both business and leisure travelers to stay connected. The hotel features an on-site restaurant, The Bistro, which generally serves cooked-to-order breakfast (for a surcharge) and dinner, along with a bar/lounge. There is also "The Market" for snacks and beverages available 24 hours a day. For relaxation and recreation, the hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center equipped with cardio equipment and free weights. For business needs, the hotel provides a business center and offers two meeting rooms, with a total of 1,144 sq ft of event space, capable of hosting small conferences or events with custom catering and AV equipment. Laundry facilities are available on-site, along with dry cleaning/laundry services. The hotel generally has a 24-hour front desk, and while some reviews commend individual staff members like "Melinda" for their sweetness and helpfulness, others raise significant concerns about overall staff attitude and service.

Features of the Hotel

The Courtyard Atlanta Northlake has 128 guest rooms and 20 suites, aiming to provide comfortable accommodations. The rooms typically feature plush bedding, spacious workstations with ergonomic chairs, and flat-screen TVs with premium cable channels. In-room amenities often include mini-fridges, coffee/tea makers (though some recent reviews indicate a lack of coffee makers or even soap in rooms), and hairdryers in the bathrooms. Some suites also offer separate living areas. The property was built in 1983 and underwent renovation in 2020. However, despite the renovations, recent customer reviews indicate significant issues with the condition and cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. One guest described a room as "SO filthy! The door wasn’t even locked upon entering and trash everywhere and dirty wash cloth," likening it to a "motel 6, than a Marriott." Another mentioned a "dirty shower," "no one came to the room to clean the trash, change the sheets or give us new towels," and missing personal soap, with the hotel not providing any. There are also concerning reports about the absence of an elevator in a two-story building, which presents a significant challenge for guests with mobility issues or heavy luggage. Other complaints include non-working phones, broken bathroom and shower handles, loud AC units, and overall poor maintenance, with some rooms appearing boarded up or condemned. The hotel's website indicates accessible features, including wheelchair-accessible parking and an accessible registration desk, but the lack of an elevator contradicts common accessibility expectations.

Promotional Information and Guest Experience

As a Marriott Bonvoy property, the Courtyard Atlanta Northlake participates in the Marriott loyalty program, allowing guests to earn and redeem points for stays. While Marriott generally offers various promotions and discounts, the recent negative customer feedback raises questions about the overall value proposition at this specific location. The hotel's incidental charge of $100 is noted by a guest as "way too much for the amount of service we did not receive." The provided customer reviews paint a grim picture of recent guest experiences. The severe complaints about uncleaned rooms, lack of basic amenities, unhelpful or rude staff, and unsanitary conditions ("entire building smelled like weed") are highly alarming and directly contradict the expected standards of a Marriott-branded hotel. Guests have reported immediately booking with alternative hotels due to the unacceptable conditions. It's clear from these reviews that the hotel has faced significant operational challenges recently, leading to extremely unsatisfactory stays for some guests. While the hotel website still lists standard Courtyard amenities, potential guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in this area should be aware of these serious and consistent concerns from recent visitors. A damage deposit is typically collected upon arrival and refunded upon check-out, though one guest reported issues with the refund process taking an excessive amount of time.

DO NOT BOOK. We arrived and they told Us they were booked up and didn’t know if they had room. The entire building smelled like weed. They finally gave us a room and told us they were sure if it was clean. This was at 9pm! We proceed to the room because we were traveling with our small children and it was SO filthy! The door wasn’t even locked upon entering and trash everywhere and dirty wash cloth. Have a current case ID open with Marriott in hopes to get a refund because we immediately booked with the double tree Hilton down the road and left after 30 mins of being there.

I always book a Marriott courtyard. It's my go to when it comes to traveling. It always provides nice clean rooms and service. I was very disappointed with this hotel☹️ the reception personnel did not provide a pleasant welcome. The room they gave us was dark, smelly not clean and our view was a dumpster. We asked for a different room possible upstairs but elevators were not working. They gave us a different first floor room. I did not feel safe here. If construction is happening in the hotel they should not book rooms until it's completed. Especially when the rooms were charged full price. Very disappointed. Marriott what happened?🤷

The staff were kind and responsive. The hotel itself? Clearly under construction. Our closet was large and perfect for the suits and dresses we brought... minus the fact there was no bar to hang them from. When we told the staff they were apologetic and sent someone to install the bar the next day, and as well as giving us the missing coffee maker that was absent from the room. The maintenence workers were cordial and also fixed the door handle to the closet. I have nothing ill to say about the people at this hotel. But the hotel itself is busted. Also there is no elevator to the second floor. Definitely not ADA-compliant. If walking up and down a flight stairs is difficult for any reason, make sure to book a 1st floor room. Or anything else.

Such a terrible experience from beginning to the end. We went for a family trip, super easy check in, we got worried cause they did not have elevator. But ok cause it was only one floor. Went we got to the room noticed some bags and Luggage inside, definitely was taken already. My husband went back to the front desk, She apologized and gave us another room. We walk in, this was not taken but, noticed it was under remodeled, also the trash can with papers, not paper toiled, not shampoo or conditioner, parts of the TV base on a side. We stayed there for 3 days and they never clean the room or change the towels. They did not even have ice buckets. And you can see the hotel is getting remodeling but still. My husband it’s a frequent traveler reason why he stays is several hotels, first time.
