The room was clean but smelled like cigarettes. There are many families living there and they had a party outside and were screaming at each other till the wee hours of the morning. I didn't feel safe there. Family members were with me in another room and you could hear baby's screaming. It's probably a reasonable place to stay if you want to live there with residents that don't have any manners never again for me
For local users and travelers searching for 'Hotels Near Of Me' in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area, particularly around the Northlake vicinity, the Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake presents itself as a dedicated option for longer-term accommodations. Located at 3300 Northlake Pkwy NE, Atlanta, GA 30345, USA, this hotel is designed to provide guests with essential amenities for extended stays, aiming to offer a home-away-from-home experience. This introduction will offer an objective overview, drawing from both the hotel's stated features and direct customer feedback, which, as will be seen, indicates a varied guest experience.
Environment and Location: Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake is strategically situated in the Northlake area, offering relatively easy access to various parts of Atlanta. The hotel's location places it near major interstates, providing convenience for travelers by car. It is approximately 20 minutes from Atlanta's city center, making it accessible to downtown attractions while being in a more suburban setting. Nearby points of interest include Northlake Mall, providing shopping and dining options within easy reach. For business or medical needs, the hotel is within convenient reach of Emory University Hospital, Mercer University, and several corporate office parks. Recreational opportunities like Stone Mountain Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, and the High Museum of Art are also accessible from this location. The hotel's official description emphasizes that guests can "make the most of your time in Atlanta, GA." However, customer reviews raise concerns about the immediate environment within the hotel, with one guest describing a strong "smell like crack and weed as soon as you step in" and noting "many families living there" having "a party outside and were screaming at each other till the wee hours of the morning," leading to a feeling of not being "safe there." This suggests that while the external location offers convenience, the internal atmosphere may not always be conducive to a peaceful stay, particularly for leisure travelers or those unfamiliar with extended-stay dynamics. The area is generally well-connected, with public transport options available for wider city exploration.
Services and Amenities: As an extended-stay property, the Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake focuses on providing practical amenities for guests staying for a few days, weeks, or longer. A key offering is the complimentary grab-and-go breakfast, typically including items like muffins, hot cereal, coffee, and tea, available daily from 6 AM to 9:30 AM. All suites are equipped with free Wi-Fi, allowing guests to stay connected, with options for paid Wi-Fi upgrades for higher speeds. The hotel features on-site guest laundry facilities, open 24/7, which is a crucial amenity for extended stays. There is also an on-site fitness center for guests to maintain their workout routines. Barbecue grills are available on-site for guest use, offering an alternative for meal preparation. The front desk is generally 24-hour, and accessible features are provided, including an accessible front desk counter and handicap parking. Housekeeping services are structured for extended stays: for stays of one to seven nights, fresh towels and linens are available at the front desk as often as needed; for stays of eight or more nights, one full-service housekeeping is provided every two weeks, with additional full-service or refresh cleanings available for a fee. However, similar to the environmental aspect, customer reviews highlight significant discrepancies. One review stated, "Everything listed as an amenity is NOT AVAILABLE," specifically mentioning that "Only one elevator works!!!" and that the fitness center was not accessible. Another review noted that "Breakfast was limited and closed at 9" and that only "coffee and tea" were available, with "no creamer" some days, further suggesting that the promised amenities might not always meet expectations or be fully functional.
Features of the Rooms: The Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake offers spacious suites, with various room types including Deluxe Studios with one queen bed, One Bedroom Suites with one queen bed and a sofa sleeper, and Two Bedroom Suites with two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. A hallmark feature of all suites is the "fully equipped kitchen," which typically includes a full-sized refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and dishwasher, along with essential kitchenware like cookware, dishware, and utensils. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals and save on dining out. Rooms also come with a flat-screen LCD TV with premium cable channels, free Wi-Fi, and a dedicated workspace with a desk and desk chair. Premium bedding, climate-controlled air conditioning, and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, free toiletries, and a hairdryer are standard. Iron and ironing boards are available in every room. Some rooms also feature a separate sitting area and hypo-allergenic bedding. However, customer reviews present a concerning picture regarding room conditions and discrepancies. One guest who booked a "2 bedroom suite online fully paid" upon arrival was told, "oh we don't have that," and was placed in a "just basic room one bed one pull out couch all in same room," with the hotel refusing a refund. This highlights a significant issue with room allocation and booking accuracy. Furthermore, reviews repeatedly mention serious cleanliness issues: "The room was clean but smelled like cigarettes," "roaches everywhere!!!", and "dirty floors." One review also stated, "no microwaves in the rooms," contradicting official listings, although other sources confirm their presence. This strong negative feedback suggests a significant gap between advertised room features and the actual condition guests may encounter.
Policies and Accessibility: As part of the Extended Stay America brand, the hotel generally adheres to specific policies:
Promotional Information and Special Notes: Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake often promotes its "STAY longer. Save more.®" program, offering discounts for bookings of 7 nights or more, making it an attractive option for guests needing longer accommodations for work, relocation, or extended visits. They also offer exclusive member rates and seasonal flash sales. The provision of fully equipped kitchens and on-site guest laundry are key value propositions, aiming to provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional hotel stays or apartment rentals for extended periods. However, potential guests should be highly cautious given the stark contrast between official descriptions and numerous negative customer reviews regarding cleanliness, pest issues (roaches), noise disturbances, and significant discrepancies in room type fulfillment and staff demeanor. While some positive reviews exist, highlighting convenience and basic functionality, the severity of the negative feedback suggests a highly inconsistent experience. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on availability, rates, and to address any specific concerns or confirm current conditions, it is strongly advised to contact Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake directly at (770) 938-0408 or +1 770-938-0408 before making a reservation. This direct communication can help manage expectations and verify the services and room quality on offer.
In conclusion, Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake is positioned as a convenient and cost-effective solution for extended stays in the Atlanta Northlake area, offering essential amenities like in-room kitchens and laundry facilities. While its official offerings suggest a comfortable stay, the numerous and severe negative customer reviews regarding cleanliness, pest infestations, noise, and service inconsistencies demand careful consideration. Prospective guests searching for 'Hotels Near Of Me' for a longer duration should be prepared for a potentially variable experience and are strongly encouraged to contact the hotel directly to confirm current conditions and address any concerns before booking.

Jan 03, 2025 · Courtney BanksI booked via booking.com and the hotel cancelled my reservation due to them overbooking their rooms. I called to speak with the manager “Marcus” and he promised me that he will save a room for me bc I was traveling with my mother from Florida arriving at 5am. Well, he lied. Straight lied to me for reason. I didn’t ask him to accommodate me in no way, I just wanted an understanding why my reservation was cancelled. This cause me to have nowhere to check in for hours!! Spend more money than expected and was very upsetting. He needs to do better or at the very least be removed from the front desk and do housekeeping if that.
Jan 11, 2025 · TeriaI made reservations at this place for my mom to get cancer treatment since we live in Florida. The minute we got in the elevator it smelled so bad like cigarettes and mariguana, the hallways and the bedrooms smells so bad as well. This place is so dirty and you have nothing but thugs and crack heads hanging around. We are so fearful for our safety! The woman at the front desk is so rude to top it off. Some of your guests were smoking cigarettes and mariguana all night, the smoke was so bad that it was coming inside our bedroom through the crocks of the doors. My mom was so sick to her stomach and I had a headache all night. The reason why we stayed here is because I was supposed to cook our meals but, as soon as we got in the room I called for pots, pans and utensils and the front desk told me that they had none and the order that they put in has not come in yet. I had made reservations for a week, but we cannot take another day of this place.
Feb 25, 2025 · Carmen LeeMy children and I needed a place to stay for one week until my new home was ready to move in, so I decided to go to extended-stay Northlake. I thought It would be a nice clean place for us to stay for one week, but to my surprise, it was the most horrible experience very Very deplorable conditions. Let me just start up by saying the whole entire place has a very unclean unfresh file odor. It is roach invested Not worth the money that they charge, It’s pretty much housing for crackheads, prostitutes Drug addicts because that is all I seen in my 11 hours stay there. I couldn’t get myself to stay there a whole 24 hours let alone one week, The rooms are not clean properly and I when I went to go tell the guy at the front desk. All he did was blaming on housekeeping And make excuses for a while the entire place looks and smells the way it does. If it had not been for my children being so tired and sleepy, I would have left immediately but because of that we suffer through 11 hours Of nastiness. The first one we were in, I guess housekeeping had took Part of the refrigerator shelves and bands out set them in a tub with nasty food molding I never went back to clean it, and that was the room that I was given. I immediately went downstairs to speak with the guy who’s there and as I stayed earlier, all you had for me was excuses as to why the room was nasty because he thought housekeeping had cleaned it And to tell me that I can’t get mad at him for something that he didn’t know, I was in given key cards to another room. That was a little bit better but still very nasty roaches were crawling on the floor on the chairs on the couch in the air vents and on the counter my kids and I took a shower change our clothes And immediately Took all of our belongings back to my truck Because we did not want roaches crawling in our bags. There are people arguing and fighting in the next room, which was very scary, Then some random guy came and banged on the door asking did we see anyone go in his room Because the workers are always going in his room, taking his stuff I didn’t open the door. I kindly told him that we literally had just walked into the room and I didn’t know nor did I see anyone in the hallway as we were coming up. He was very aggressive and sounded very, very angry Cursing very loudly in the hallway, There was urine in the elevator. The carpet look like it had been cleaned in years. It was just a very horrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay at Extended stay in Northlake That place need to be remodeled And a deep cleaning. The only good part about it was meeting the manager. I don’t remember his name, but he was a very nice gentleman, and when I show him the videos and pictures of what my children and I experience, he kindly gave me a full refund And explain to me that there are some people that have been living there for years and utilize the extended stay as their real homes. FYI to the extended-stay staff And or management Please don’t get on here, trying to reply, saying that I’m lying About my experience because I do still have the pictures and videos and have no problem posting them, Just fixed the problems that you guys have going on in your facility and stop making excuses for why it’s happening, It’s not just housekeeping fault it’s the whole staff fault collectively. There’s no I in team Everybody have dropped the ball on that facility, including management Because if housekeeping not doing their job properly fire everybody on the housekeeping staff and hire new staff to get the job done the right way people who don’t want to work and do their job effectively and sufficiently shouldn’t get paid simple as that…. Having unclean and unsanitaryrooms bathrooms, Beds, Sheets towels and Furniture Could cause bacterial infections, Hepatitis And people to get really sick.
