Room is clean but can use updating. Very friendly staff. Parking lot was full Friday night, had to park far from door and there was quite a bit of loitering and people in their cars outside...not the best atmosphere. Elevators and hallways smell like pot, one thing I dislike too much. Lots of potential for a 4-star but as I stay in many hotels in my line of work, they need to tighten up their rules and security in my humble opinion

In conclusion, the Holiday Inn Atlanta-Northlake by IHG offers a well-located option for travelers in the Northlake area of Atlanta, providing standard Holiday Inn amenities like an outdoor pool, fitness center, and on-site dining. While it benefits from its prime location and generally pleasant staff, potential guests should be aware of the recurring concerns regarding room updates, cleanliness issues (including air quality), amenity availability (like towels), and particularly, security and loitering in public areas, as highlighted in guest reviews. It is advisable for prospective guests to consider these points and perhaps contact the hotel directly to inquire about recent improvements or specific concerns before booking.

Mar 31, 2025 · Manny B_636_PRThis place is centrally located where you can walk to everything! There are plenty of food options, a mall, and various shopping centers- we had a car but it was not necessary to get around in the area. Front desk staff in the evening is very pleasant but not helpful at all (I believe Rhia is her name). Daytime staff is accommodating, not necessarily friendly. Housekeeping is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast options are ok. Food is prepared at 6 am so get up early if you want fresh food. Took off my necklace to shower and then we changed to a room across the hall. Housekeeping cleaned the room and no one ever saw my necklace after that 🤔 There is a restaurant/bar in the lobby which is excessively busy in the evenings, with a long wait for food, and even if you want a cocktail. Towels were scarce. One night they gave us pool towels to shower with- one night they didn’t have any of those. Great location, sub par staff, housekeeping thefts, no towels, poor air quality.. stay away! Go somewhere else.
Apr 03, 2025 · T BryantWont be back. TBH this hotel was really ghetto. I don't expect this from the IHG hotels, but it was. The smell of weed was everywhere. The room had a leak that wouldn't stop. It seemed like an old hotel they tried to renovate. The breakfast was really basic and not really much to choose from. Getting towels was an issue to. They must have ran out because when we got them they weren't even really bath towels. I wouldn't go back.
Mar 03, 2025 · Patrick MeltonUpon entering room, noticed smell of urine. Shady looking people hanging around parking lot sitting in cars plenty marijuana smoking going on. Highly suspect a lot of illegal activity going on around this place!! Will definitely drive the extra miles and stay at another location if passing through again. Note to management. Stop with all the this is concerning and you will address it!!!! by reading past reviews. It’s very obvious that you are doing nothing about this!!! I encourage others to avoid this place!!!!
Mar 27, 2025 · Jeff BenthalMy experience at this hotel by far has the worst. It's a decent hotel. Most of the staff are nice and friendly. The AC didnt work properly and accessories in the rooms either didnt work, are out dated, or you can tell werent properly cleaned. The rooms are mhmmm okay for the price you pay. However, the hallways and elevators smell like weed. This specific location doesn't offer complimentary breakfast you have to pay for everything at the restaurant that's attached. The restaurant can be a hit or miss. My main reason for writing this bad review is the safety concerns of the hotel. This morning quite a few vehicles were broken into including my own and a family members. Anything of value was taken. The police took hours to show up to take a report. When speaking to the hotel manager. She was notified about the incident before she came in. She didn't greet us or acknowledge us unless until i asked when the manager will be in to talk about the matter. she identified herself as the manager. Her first response after identifying her self was " We are not responsible for the vehicles and that if I didn't want to stay here and wait for the police to make the report I can leave and do the report over the phone" what a way to treat your guest huh. You would think they would show just a little bit of compassion or understanding of the situation and all you get is just wait for the police and make a report. I already didn't feel safe after having my vehicle broken into and my belongings being taken, but the comments from the manager definitely didn't make me feel any better. I spoke with IHG about being comped for a night at a different location because of safety reasons. They advised it would be up to the property manager. Just by her responses about the matter in hand there was no need to ask again for a comp. By reading the other reviews this seems to happen quite often and you would think the hotel would implement some type of security when it comes to their guest safety. I would take this and many other reviews into consideration before you stay at this hotel.
