We stayed in an executive jacuzzi suite while in town to visit family who lives nearby. The room was extremely dated (green and brown striped carpet and green wallpaper that was peeling in areas) and not cleaned well. The bed and towels seemed clean but the attention is in the details. There was a dried spill in the mini fridge, cobwebs on the corroded fire sprinkler, black growth in the jacuzzi jets and rusting hardware in the jacuzzi also. We wouldn’t use the jacuzzi tub since it was so dirty and gross. The bathroom door couldn’t open to the door stop because it hit the bowed shower curtain rod. There is barely enough room to stand in the bathroom and close the door without sitting down on the toilet. The shower curtains were ripped and frayed where the rod goes through, the shower floor grips had some black growth in them making the shower floor slippery and causing my toddler to fall in the shower (thankfully I caught him). The toilet was not thoroughly clean and there was black growth in area on the grout/tile near the toilet and the lid of the toilet was balanced crooked on top making it possible to be knocked off. The staff was friendly enough (provided as expected service). The size of the room was great, we had hot water in the shower, and a clean bed but I certainly expected more from Hampton Inn, especially with a 4.6 star rating and for the price we paid. We were very disappointed and will choose another hotel the next time we visit.
### Introduction / Overview
Located in the heart of Winston-Salem's bustling Hanes Mall area, the Hampton Inn Winston-Salem Hanes Mall offers travelers a well-known name in hospitality, part of the extensive Hilton family of brands. This hotel aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay, catering to a diverse range of guests from business travelers to families on vacation. Known for their consistent amenities and services, Hampton Inns typically offer a welcoming environment with a focus on value and convenience, including their signature complimentary hot breakfast.
The hotel is often highlighted for its strategic location and some core services. Public information notes it offers "a warm welcome with continental breakfast and helpful staff," and is positioned for "great value and superb guest service every time." Amenities like an "Outdoor Saltwater Pool & Tranquil Terrace" and "Complimentary Breakfast" are frequently promoted, alongside features like "Refrigerator & Microwave In All Rooms" and a "24-hour business center."
However, recent guest experiences offer a more nuanced perspective. One family, who booked an "executive jacuzzi suite," reported significant issues: "The room was extremely dated (green and brown striped carpet and green wallpaper that was peeling in areas) and not cleaned well." They cited specific cleanliness concerns including a "dried spill in the mini fridge," "cobwebs on the corroded fire sprinkler," and "black growth in the jacuzzi jets and rusting hardware," leading them to deem the jacuzzi tub "so dirty and gross" they wouldn't use it. They also detailed a poorly designed bathroom with a door hitting the shower curtain rod, ripped shower curtains, and "black growth in area on the grout/tile near the toilet." Another guest in an accessible room found the shower "dangerous to use" due to slipperiness and a lack of a bathroom vent, causing the "entire room steamy, and the tile floor was slick." While staff were described as "friendly enough (provided as expected service)," and basic comforts like a "clean bed" and hot water were present, these guests expressed significant disappointment, stating they "certainly expected more from Hampton Inn... and for the price we paid."
While the Hampton Inn Winston-Salem Hanes Mall advertises a range of desirable features, prospective guests should be aware of these reported inconsistencies in room condition and maintenance. It is advisable to consider these recent reviews when planning a stay, particularly if booking specialized suites or accessible rooms.

May 05, 2025 · DeLu CoWe had an accessible room with a shower. The shower was dangerous to use. It became very slick as soon as the water hit it. We used a towel so that it was usable. Also, there was no bathroom vent, so the entire room became steamy, and the tile floor was slick. Would not recommend booking this type of room.
May 01, 2025 · Diane SudderthWe were very happy with our stay until around 9am on our day to leave. We had about 3 visits from maids asking if we were leaving yet so they could clean. It was very irritating to my mom, brother and I. In the process, left my spare phone and tablet. Called and told it wasn't there. The truck has been checked multiple times. The only place it can be is the hotel. The service up front and for breakfast was outstanding. Very disappointed at the loss of my tablet.
Jun 01, 2025 · Tammy BrewerI recently stayed at this hotel with my friend, Faith. Our stay was wonderful. All the staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful. Lisa, at the front desk, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. She also made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious. I travel frequently for work and leisure and to say that this is one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel should not be taken lightly. I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel if you are staying in the Winston-Salem area.
Jan 04, 2025 · SteveThe room was very clean. I got the executive suite, so it would have a whirlpool tub, refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. Winston-Salem doesn't have many hotels with whirlpool tubs. It's relaxing, and if I'm away from home home , I want it close to home. Oh, the bed was hard, though. I missed my topper. You could hear the upstairs dropping things on the floor, so I would recommend getting room on the top floor. Breakfast was amazing with all the toppings. I got an early check-in and left at 12 pm.
