The hotel staff was friendly, which is always appreciated, but the room left a lot to be desired. It was old and dated, with too much furniture crammed in—making it feel cluttered and uncomfortable. The carpet was loose, frayed, and filthy. The sheets were stained, which was honestly pretty nasty. The phone was even caked up with brown junk it was gross. The complimentary breakfast was very minimal, essentially non existent. The best part of the property was the outdoor tables by the pool—nice spot to relax—but unfortunately, there was a strong natural gas odor in the area. I notified the front desk, hope they will handle. They are in the process of remodeling, so hopefully things will improve over the next few years. We only stayed here because of a soccer tournament in town. Otherwise, it would be a definite no-go.

Let's delve into the environment of the Hampton Inn York. The property aims to offer a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. While specific details about the lobby aesthetics or common areas are not provided, the general brand standard for Hampton Inn typically includes a bright and inviting lobby area where guests can relax or work. The exterior of the hotel, like many in its category, is designed for functionality and ease of access. One notable aspect mentioned by a past guest is the presence of outdoor tables by the pool, which were described as a "nice spot to relax." This suggests an effort to provide outdoor leisure spaces for guests to enjoy, which can be a significant advantage, especially during pleasant weather. However, it's important to note a concern raised by a guest regarding a "strong natural gas odor in the area" near the pool, which was reported to the front desk. This highlights the importance of environmental considerations and the hotel's responsiveness to guest feedback regarding such issues.
Regarding services, the Hampton Inn brand is generally known for its consistent service offerings, which typically include complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a fitness center. While one guest review described the complimentary breakfast as "very minimal, essentially non existent," it's worth noting that the standard Hampton Inn breakfast usually includes hot items, cereals, pastries, and beverages. The discrepancy might indicate a temporary change or a guest's specific expectation. The hotel also provides standard front desk services, and a highlight from a customer review indicates exceptional customer service from staff members like Ida, who went above and beyond to resolve a booking issue. This demonstrates a commitment to guest satisfaction and problem-solving, which is a crucial aspect of any hotel's service delivery. The availability of staff who are "friendly" and "patient" in assisting guests significantly enhances the overall experience.
Moving on to the features of the Hampton Inn York, beyond the general services, individual rooms are the core of the guest experience. Based on recent customer feedback, there are some areas where the hotel is actively working to improve. One review explicitly states that the hotel is "in the process of remodeling," which is a significant piece of information for potential guests. This suggests that while some rooms might currently exhibit an "old and dated" appearance, with "too much furniture crammed in," "loose, frayed, and filthy" carpets, "stained" sheets, and even a "caked up with brown junk" phone, these issues are likely being addressed as part of the renovation. The ongoing remodeling indicates a commitment to upgrading the facilities and improving the overall guest comfort and aesthetic appeal of the rooms. The mention of the "outdoor tables by the pool" is a positive feature, offering a recreational spot for guests. Hotels in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category often aim to provide convenient amenities, and a pool area, even if small, adds value for leisure travelers.
From a promotional standpoint, while no explicit current promotions are detailed in the provided information, the fact that the hotel is undergoing remodeling itself can be a form of promotion. It signals future improvements and a renewed commitment to guest satisfaction. For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," staying updated on the progress of these renovations might be beneficial. Hampton Inn generally participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, offering points and benefits to frequent guests. Potential guests are encouraged to check the official Hampton Inn website or call the hotel directly for current rates, availability, and any specific packages or discounts that may be running. Often, hotels offer special rates for extended stays, corporate bookings, or weekend getaways. Given the ongoing renovations, there might be introductory offers for newly renovated rooms once they are complete, or perhaps special rates during the renovation period to account for any temporary inconveniences. The hotel's ability to assist guests with third-party booking issues, as highlighted by Kelly K.'s review, also serves as a strong testament to their customer-centric approach, which can be a key promotional point for travelers who value reliable service.

May 11, 2025 · Brian and Cristin ZormanI had booked a last minute room through a third party company. When checking in, there was an issue with the card payment from the company to the hotel. Thankfully the kind front desk lady, Ida, was able to assist me by calling the third party company and it ended up being an error on their company’s end. Ida was very patient with the company and displayed wonderful customer service skills! She made sure we were able to get into the room we booked as quickly as possible and was very friendly in the process. Thank you Ida!! -Kelly K.
Mar 28, 2025 · kellyaak kaaI've stayed here twice and liked it both times! It's clean, and well decorated. Front desk members were all nice (and patient with me when I was half asleep haha). Also they had Halloween cookies for guests that they pointed out to me so I could get one (very appreciated). Breakfast is normal with stuff like omelettes, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, apples, bananas, etc. Coffee is good. There's a coffee machine and a mini fridge and microwave in the rooms. The room I was last in had a mirror with three angles in the bathrooms, which is nice for makeup. Also there was a nightlight in the bathroom which is handy! Internet was good enough for video calling without issue. Overall it was a pretty normal/nice hotel. No bugs, no weird stains, etc. Only tiny complaint I have is that there's not a lot of parking in the front, but that's only an annoyance when I'm checking in. Otherwise I can use the side exits and whatnot. I'll stay here again :)
