Nice hotel, Great and Friendly Staff. The ac was a little wonky but great location. I tried getting a king bed but the agent made a mistake when booking so I had to book myself using my points and was stuck with 2 queen beds.. Ugh..The on-site bar was great and I loved the diner down the street. It would be great to have a path from the hotel to the diner so you don't have to walk down the streets since there are no sidewalks.
For individuals in York, Pennsylvania, or those traveling to the area and searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," Four Points by Sheraton York presents itself as an accommodation option. Situated at 1650 Toronita St, York, PA 17402, USA, this hotel is accessible for inquiries and reservations via phone at (717) 846-4940 or mobile at +1 717-846-4940. This detailed introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the Four Points by Sheraton York, drawing upon available customer feedback to describe its environment, services, features, and any relevant promotional information, allowing potential guests to make an informed decision.
The overall environment of Four Points by Sheraton York is generally perceived as pleasant and inviting. Guests have described it as a "nice hotel," suggesting a positive initial impression. The location of the hotel is also highlighted as a strong point. While specific details about what makes the location "great" are not explicitly stated beyond general convenience, its address in York, PA, implies accessibility to local attractions, business centers, or main thoroughfares. However, a minor infrastructural note regarding the immediate vicinity is that there are no sidewalks leading from the hotel to a nearby diner, requiring guests to walk in the streets. This is a point to consider for those who prefer pedestrian-friendly access to nearby establishments, and a suggestion has been made for a direct path to improve this.
A consistent positive aspect of the Four Points by Sheraton York is its staff. Multiple reviews commend the staff for being "Great and Friendly," indicating a commitment to hospitable service. This positive interaction with hotel personnel contributes significantly to the guest experience, making check-in and other interactions more pleasant. However, despite the friendly staff, some issues related to booking accuracy have been reported, such as an agent making a mistake with a king bed reservation, leading a guest to be "stuck with 2 queen beds" and having to rebook using their own points. While the staff's demeanor is praised, attention to detail in reservations appears to be an area for potential improvement to ensure guest preferences are accurately met.
In terms of features and amenities, Four Points by Sheraton York offers an on-site bar, which has been positively received by guests, described as "great." This provides a convenient option for guests to relax and socialize without leaving the hotel premises. Additionally, the proximity to a "diner down the street" offers an off-site dining option for those who prefer to explore local eateries. These dining amenities contribute to the overall convenience of staying at the hotel.
However, significant disappointments have been reported regarding the hotel's recreational facilities, specifically the indoor pool and hot tub. Guests, some of whom are local and chose the hotel specifically for these amenities, have found the hot tub to be "drained" and "closed till further notice" upon arrival. This is a major point of frustration, especially when the hotel's online listings or booking information still indicate the presence of these operational amenities. The lack of prior notification about such closures, coupled with the absence of a discount or refund offered for the unavailability of key facilities, has led to "highly disappointed" experiences. This raises questions about the hotel's transparency and guest compensation policies when advertised features are not available. The fact that another Marriott hotel in York also reportedly had a broken hot tub suggests a broader challenge in maintaining these amenities within the hotel group's local properties.
Breakfast service at Four Points by Sheraton York is another area that has received negative feedback. The hotel charges $14 for a breakfast buffet, which some guests find expensive, especially considering that complimentary breakfast is a common offering at many other hotels. Beyond the cost, the quality of the food has been criticized, with reports of it being "cold, Luke warm at best." Furthermore, basic service shortcomings, such as guests repeatedly having to "ask for napkins" with none being consistently put out, point to a need for better organization and attention to detail in the breakfast area. These issues significantly detract from the dining experience and contribute to overall guest dissatisfaction, leading some to state they "would never stay here again."
Another technical issue mentioned by a guest relates to the air conditioning in the rooms, described as "a little wonky." While not a critical flaw, a malfunctioning or inconsistent AC unit can impact guest comfort, especially during extreme weather conditions. This suggests that some in-room functionalities may require maintenance or upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
In summary, Four Points by Sheraton York offers a generally pleasing environment and benefits from a friendly and accommodating staff, making it a potentially suitable option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." The on-site bar and nearby dining options add to its appeal. However, potential guests should be aware of significant drawbacks that have impacted past stays. These include issues with booking accuracy, crucial recreational facilities (hot tub and pool) being unexpectedly unavailable without compensation or prior notice, and a breakfast buffet that is both costly and reportedly subpar in quality and service. Furthermore, minor issues with in-room air conditioning and external pedestrian access have been noted. While the staff's positive attitude is a strong point, the recurring problems with amenities and breakfast suggest that guests seeking a full-service experience with reliable facilities and good value for money might need to manage their expectations or consider alternative options in the York area. For some, these disappointments have been significant enough to deter a return stay, highlighting the importance of transparent communication about facility availability and consistent quality of services.

May 14, 2025 · Dawn ShortMy friend and I are local, but we decided to stay here after an event in downtown York. We wanted a girls' night to relax and unwind. We chose this hotel specifically to use the hot tub and indoor pool, only to find the hot tub drained and a sign that said "closed till further notice". We were highly disappointed and went to the desk to see what could be done. Not even a discount was offered to us. As I said, we were local so we could have easily went home. Since we were offered no discount or refund, we decided to make the best off it. Come to find out, the other Marriott in York also has a broken hot tub. I don't understand why hotels install these amenities if they are not going to keep them maintained. Yet they still remain listed that they have one. I also want to point out that they charge 14 $ for a breakfast buffet that is free at most places. The food was cold, Luke warm at best. Every person there had to ask for napkins, and still none were put out. I honestly would never stay here again.
Mar 27, 2025 · Christy HerrLiz was exceptional. She went above and beyond to get me a room. I am a truck driver and I drive all night so it is nice to come right in and get a room. Teresa had good food and service as well. I would recommend this place to family and friends. I am a customer for life.
May 16, 2025 · Michael FrazierI'm a frequent business traveler and Bonvoy member. I have been disappointed by the other Marriott options in York. The Four Points by Sheraton did NOT disappoint. The staff was kind and courteous, the room spacious and clean, the hotel was quiet, everything in my room worked as it should, the bed was comfortable and the location is convenient to coffee shops, grocery stores, and interstate. I will definitely return.
Apr 21, 2025 · Alison ConleyChose this location for the use of hot tub and pool. Upon arrival was told the hot tub was down for 3-4 more days. Very disappointed. Gentlemen at desk said he would put 6000 points on my account but still haven't seen them. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Toilet is VERY low for me as an older person and the tub sides were SO HIGH. However bathroom was clean Using the pool I fell and cut my hand. The first aide kit in pool area was EMPTY.....go figure. Breakfast this morning was a circus. Ran out of food, the staff was out smoking so had to wait for waffle mix, bacon, eggs and potatoes. There was some unhappy guests!!!! Not sure if I would jump to stay here again....who knows.
