For individuals and families seeking extended stay accommodations or simply a comfortable and well-appointed hotel experience in York, Pennsylvania, Homewood Suites by Hilton York presents itself as a notable option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category. Located at 200 Masonic Dr, York, PA 17406, USA, this hotel is easily reachable via phone at (717) 434-1800 or mobile at +1 717-434-1800. This detailed introduction will provide an objective overview of the Homewood Suites by Hilton York, encompassing its environment, services, features, and relevant promotional information, all based on comprehensive guest feedback.
The environment of Homewood Suites by Hilton York is generally described as very appealing, with a "very modern look" and "nicely appointed" interiors. The rooms themselves are consistently praised for being "very clean" and having an "efficient layout," which is crucial for extended stays where functionality and comfort are paramount. The overall aesthetic contributes to a pleasant and contemporary atmosphere. A significant advantage of the hotel's location is its remarkable quietness, despite being conveniently close to a freeway. This means guests can enjoy peaceful evenings, away from the "hustle and bustle of downtown York," which is highly valued by both leisure and business travelers seeking a restful environment.
The hotel's location is particularly advantageous for business travelers, as it is situated in a good area with numerous restaurants within a short driving distance—approximately "5 minutes or less via car." Access to a freeway within a few minutes further enhances its appeal for those needing to commute or explore the wider region. While parking can be "a little sparse" when the hotel is full, it is generally not considered a "major issue," indicating that guests can usually find suitable parking. The presence of a nearby gas station that also functions as a convenience store adds another layer of practicality for guests needing quick access to essentials.
In terms of services, Homewood Suites by Hilton York consistently receives high marks for its staff. Reviews frequently highlight the staff as "always friendly and very accommodating," indicating a strong commitment to guest satisfaction and a positive service culture. This friendly and helpful demeanor significantly enhances the overall guest experience. The hotel also provides a complimentary daily breakfast, which is a key feature for extended stays. This breakfast includes a variety of options such as "eggs, bacon, hash browns, coffee, pastries, oatmeal, and Waffles," offering a substantial start to the day for guests. On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy a special promotional offering of "complimentary drinks between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m." in the lounge. For additional beverage needs, beers are available on tap and can be purchased using a prepaid "drinks card." Furthermore, an on-site convenience store provides "small meals, snacks, pop, and alcoholic beverages," adding to the convenience of the stay, especially for guests on longer trips.
The features of Homewood Suites by Hilton York are designed to cater to extended stays and provide a comfortable home-away-from-home experience. The hotel offers a fitness room for guests to maintain their exercise routines, as well as laundry services, which are essential for longer visits. A pool is also available for relaxation and recreation. Rooms are equipped with "full kitchens," a major draw for extended stay guests who prefer to prepare their own meals. However, it's an important detail to note that these full kitchens typically do not include an oven, only a "2 burner stove top." While this might be a minor oversight for some, it's a critical piece of information for guests planning to cook more elaborate meals. This particular feedback highlights the importance of clarifying what "full kitchen" entails for individual guest expectations.
Despite many positives, some guests have reported specific areas for improvement. A significant concern revolves around the pool, which, despite being listed as heated on the hotel's website, was reportedly "not heated" during one guest's stay. This discrepancy led to disappointment, especially for families with children whose teeth were chattering after only a few minutes in the cold water. The staff's response that "no one else has complained about it," despite other guests at the pool also voicing similar concerns, is a point of contention and suggests a need for better internal communication or responsiveness to guest feedback regarding amenities. Another structural aspect that has drawn criticism is the placement of the "2 bedroom suites." These larger suites are all reportedly located "right next to the elevator overlooking a busy highway." This can be a significant drawback for families with young children, as traffic noise might disrupt sleep, indicating a potential planning flaw for the hotel's room allocation, especially for its family-oriented suites.
While rooms are generally very clean and often receive mid-stay cleaning, one isolated incident reported a mirror falling off the wall in a bathroom, shattering in the middle of the night. This suggests that while overall cleanliness is high, maintenance checks for fixtures and fittings might need occasional reinforcement to prevent such rare but alarming incidents. However, it is important to contextualize this as a single reported incident against a backdrop of generally positive feedback regarding room maintenance.
In conclusion, Homewood Suites by Hilton York presents itself as a strong contender for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," particularly for extended stays or for travelers who value a quiet, clean, and modern environment with helpful staff. Its convenient location away from downtown bustle, yet with easy access to freeways and local dining, adds to its appeal. The complimentary breakfast, mid-week evening receptions, and in-room kitchens (albeit without an oven) are significant benefits. While there are areas for improvement, such as the inconsistent heating of the pool and the placement of certain suites near noise sources, the overwhelming majority of experiences indicate a high level of satisfaction, particularly concerning the cleanliness and layout of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. For many, the positives, such as a comfortable stay, excellent service, and value-added amenities, outweigh the minor drawbacks, making it a highly recommended option for both business and leisure travelers in York, Pennsylvania.

Apr 10, 2025 · Mark NowickiThis Hilton left a lot to be desired unfortunately: 1. The pool is not heated (at least not during our stay), despite being listed as heated on their website. I noted this to the staff numerous times and their response was "no one else has complained about it." Except that each time we went to the pool, others were complaining about the same thing. My kids teeth were chattering and they could not stay in for more than a few minutes. 2. This may be my fault for not looking closer, but their "full kitchen" does not include an oven, only a 2 burner stove top. Hm. 3. The 2 bedroom suites are all located right next to the elevator overlooking a busy highway. Poor planning for families with young kids wanting to use the larger suites and being kept up at night from the traffic. 4. Rooms need updating. A mirror fell off the wall in middle of the night and shattered in a bathroom. Some positives: 1. Staff is very nice! 2. The room was very clean and we also got a cleaning mid stay. All in all, I would not return. Was not worth the money at all.
Apr 21, 2025 · Baila PI made changes to a reservation on a Tuesday night (7:38pm) for a Friday arrival (wanting to push to Saturday), then received a call Wednesday morning saying that the Tuesday night front desk clerk 'wasn't authorized' to make those changes, and they would expect to see me on Friday - or else I would be charged and marked as a no-show. When I explained that nothing of the sort was conveyed to me, and that the Tuesday night clerk only left me under the impression that the adjustment had been made, I was pretty much told 'oh well, it is what it is, deal with it.' I have documentation that says I had until midnight on Tuesday to make changes, whereas the manager claims I had to make any changes by 3pm. As a rewards member, I was surprised how flippant and unwilling they were to work with me on the adjustment, that - according to my invoice - I clearly had time to make. The manager was rude and dismissive. I will not be making any future reservations with this hotel, and will look to go anywhere other than a Homewood Suites in the future.
May 14, 2025 · Sabrina P. BrittinWe were in town for only one night and normally stay at a Hilton location in downtown York. The downtown location received a 5 star rating from us. But was fully booked for our last minute trip. This location was clean, front end staff and breakfast staff were super friendly!! Shower was hot, breakfast was hot and delicious!! No complaints!! BUT, as we were leaving we were passed by a woman who identified her self as the GM. She was rude and messed up a favorable review!! She snapped a question about our dogs. We have 3, all under 20 lbs, and stay at Hilton branded hotels regularly. She asked if we rented 2 rooms to which we answered no, then she snapped that Hilton policy is 2 dogs only? Even if that were the case, we have been welcomed all over with our 3 dogs, she could have handled it professionally. But no, it felt as though she were scolding us. Asked our room #, which we offered. We told her we were not aware of the rule, never had s problem with that issue in years of staying at Hilton’s. She then checked my husband out and again acted so unprofessionally that it ruined our whole stay!!! Adding an extra fee!! Saying things in a polite voice doesn't make them polite!! She also belittled her staff by speaking poorly of them. Rising up on the backs of those you manage makes you small!! The breakfast attendants could certainly teach her how to deal with the public. She is a horrible manager, after reading the other reviews, many mentioning her by name, it is apparent that she should go back to hospitality class, to learn some class. Its a shame as everyone else we interacted with was 5 star!
Dec 09, 2024 · Richard MoulWhat isn’t there to like about this place. The rooms are gorgeous and affordable the staff is so friendly and provide amazing customer service. The breakfast is also great. The rooms stay as cold or as warm as you want them to be. Their tv have the ability to connect to your streaming services. They even have alcohol and depending on the stay of your visit social gatherings in the lobby.
