I've stayed here years ago a few times and always considered it a nice resort. This time around the Room was adequate but what really irritated me is that it was advertised as having a pool and hot tub but they were closed for maintainence. So if I'm not getting the full experience why am I paying the regular amount which used to include said hot tub/ pool. When I brought that up the woman at the desk said I was notified at the time of booking. Which I figured I'd call first after booking and that's when I was told it was closed for maintenance. Again something that really should have been advertised prior to booking the room. The pool and hot tub used to be really nice and that's one of the reasons I chose to stay there. Another thing is there was no breakfast included which would have been nice. Also when asked about it the woman just said there's many breakfast places but didn't mention any in particular. Which for a place with poor cell service would have been a nice gesture since there was no option for breakfast at the resort. Also included picture is a weird rust stain in the bathtub that looked rather unappealing. As well there was no ice in ice maker. I understand it's the off season for them but would have been nice to know about the pool before I booked. Seems if I had cancelled due to that fact I still would have been charged a fee. So again in the future would be nice to know when the pool is closed. Overall it's still a nice resort but lacking what really used to stand out.

The "Hotels Near Of Me" category serves as a valuable tool for travelers seeking accommodations within a specific geographical area. Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club fits this description for anyone looking to visit the Margaretville area or the wider Catskills, offering a blend of recreational activities and lodging. It positions itself as a place offering "classic comfort and charm, reminiscent of the glory days of Catskill Mountain getaways," making it an appealing choice for those seeking a traditional resort experience amidst natural beauty.
Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club is nestled in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, surrounded by lush forests and offering "gorgeous views." The property boasts a dramatic mountainside setting, providing a scenic backdrop for both relaxation and outdoor activities. The ambiance is generally described as a rustic retreat with modern conveniences. The resort's layout includes a lodge, where many of the hotel rooms are located, providing easy access to the clubhouse and golf course. Additionally, there's the "Hanah House," a spacious log home designed for larger groups, featuring a wraparound deck overlooking the golf course. The expansive outdoor deck associated with the main clubhouse offers a perfect spot to take in the stunning scenery. While the resort aims to offer "the best of the Catskill region's bounty all year long," it's important to note that the availability of certain amenities can be seasonal or subject to maintenance, as indicated by recent guest feedback. However, the overall environment is one of natural beauty and an emphasis on outdoor enjoyment, whether through golfing, hiking, or simply soaking in the mountain vistas. This serene environment is a key attraction for guests searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" in a picturesque, rural setting.
Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club offers a range of services and amenities aimed at providing a comfortable and engaging stay. Standard hotel rooms typically include two queen beds or a pull-out sofa bed, a private bathroom, mini-fridge, coffee maker, TV, hairdryer, personal safe, and a private scenic outdoor sitting area. Handicapped and pet-friendly rooms are available upon request, with pets up to 40 lbs staying for free in designated rooms, making it a welcoming option for travelers with furry companions. The resort also boasts an 18-hole championship golf course, a primary draw for many guests. For dining, there's a "world-class restaurant & pub" (Hanah's Restaurant, Bar & Grill) offering casual upscale dining with a "Pure Catskills" inventive menu featuring farm-to-table, fresh, and local American cuisine for breakfast and dinner. Take-out options are also available. Other on-site amenities include a game room, a gym, and a sauna. An indoor pool and an outdoor hot tub are advertised as core amenities, though recent reviews highlight issues with their availability due to maintenance. Free Wi-Fi is available in rooms, and free self-parking is provided on-site. Housekeeping service is provided daily between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The resort also emphasizes its capability as a "full-service wedding venue" with in-house catering and various packages for events, including rehearsal dinners, receptions, ceremonies, and farewell brunches.
The most prominent feature of Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club is its "Top-Rated Golf Course." Designed by Koji Nagasaka and opened in 1991, the 18-hole, par-72 course spans 7,195 yards, featuring narrow, water-filled fairways, dramatic rises and drops, and fast greens. It's described as challenging, rugged, and fun, with a signature 13th hole dubbed "The Terminator" by Golf Digest. The course offers three magnificent layouts and five different sets of tee markers, catering to golfers of all skill levels. The resort's "newly built clubhouse sits on top of the mountain and looks out upon the natural beauty that comes to mind when you think of the Catskills," with a 400 sq. ft. wedding deck offering "unbelievable" views. This makes it a popular choice for weddings and special events, with staff noted for going "above and beyond" for such occasions. Beyond golf, the resort's location provides easy access to a variety of other Catskills activities, including ski slopes (it's minutes away from great ski slopes like Belleayre Mountain), pristine waterways for kayaking and fly fishing, and "forever wild" hiking trails. The flexibility in lodging, from standard rooms to the multi-bedroom Hanah House, caters to various group sizes. The pet-friendly policy further broadens its appeal. However, a significant point of concern raised by recent guests is the unannounced closure of the pool and hot tub for maintenance, impacting the perceived value and overall experience for those who booked specifically for these amenities. This highlights the importance of checking current amenity status directly with the resort, especially when using general "Hotels Near Of Me" searches where such details might not be immediately apparent.
Promotional information for Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club emphasizes its natural setting, golf course, and event capabilities. The resort positions itself as an ideal destination for "golf outings and lodging in upstate New York" and a "premier setting for relaxation and memorable celebrations." Testimonials from wedding guests speak highly of the "stunning location" and the staff's dedication to making their special day "unforgettable," suggesting a strong performance in event management. The resort's website and external listings highlight its comprehensive offerings, including casual upscale dining, a game room, and various outdoor activities. However, recent customer reviews reveal critical aspects of the guest experience that prospective visitors should consider. While some guests remember it as a "nice resort," issues like the unexpected closure of the pool and hot tub, lack of included breakfast, poor cell service, and maintenance issues in rooms (e.g., rust stains, leaking soap dispensers, empty ice makers) have led to dissatisfaction. These reviews underscore a disparity between advertised amenities and actual availability, particularly during the "off-season." The expectation of full value for the regular price, despite reduced services, has been a point of contention. For those searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," it's crucial to understand that while Hanah Mountain Resort offers a beautiful location and a range of facilities, direct communication with the resort regarding the current operational status of all amenities, particularly the pool and hot tub, is highly advisable prior to booking. The "classic comfort and charm" is still present, but guests should manage expectations regarding all advertised features being fully operational, especially outside of peak seasons, to ensure a truly satisfying stay.

Mar 08, 2025 · Chris ObarrioGreat place to stay but in the bathroom the soap dispenser leaked all over the sink. Also I had been here before and I was so exited to get to go into the pool and hot tub but it was not open and it made me upset because why not write that on the page so people know. Over all it was nice but I would not stay there for more then 3 days.
Feb 05, 2025 · Olive OlsonNested in the quiet and beautiful Catskill mountains, Lovely views and relaxation. A beautiful place to stay I thought... at least on the outside. Management with zero accountability who treat their staff horribly and their paying customers not much better. Was really hoping for a good stay until I found out on the same day I was supposed to stay they fired a mother that had lack of child care that just wanted to bring her baby to work so she could afford to take care of her. Not only taking away her job. But financial stability for her family and house hold without waring or notice. Just fired. There are various other locations around that would be a much better place to stay (Margaretville motel and suites on main) Just to name a few. Do not give your money to these greedy people who do not even have management that live locally( they live in Japan). You deserve better and they do not deserve you. I still do hope that one day they will come to their senses but until that day this place is best avoided at all costs.
Aug 20, 2024 · Domenick WalleyI have never visited the property and now I have no desire to ever visit…I have been trying to plan a rehearsal dinner and this place was recommended to me by the Binnekill Tavern as they have temporarily shut their doors…I called 3x over the course of a week and every single time the person in charge of events was unavailable. I was told they would call me back and each time I left my contact information along with my email and no one ever called me back……..is this how you run a successful business? By never following up on an inquiry…….??? I will gladly take my money and business elsewhere.
Sep 17, 2024 · Christopher PolancoI am a local and had dinner at Hanah Last night. The food was good and the wait staff attentive. My complaint, is that upon driving up to the resort, especially in the middle of winter and in the dark, this place looks abandoned. No lights on the sign, no lights going up the winding uphill drive, no landscaping, no welcoming or inviting feel at all. If I were coming here for the first time from out of town, this wouldn't be a very good first impression. Even the parking lot is not super well lit. Also, the lack of cell service. That might have been OK or understandable 20 years ago, but now? I live in the middle of nowhere and use a cell extender, so there must be something similar that businesses could use for their out of town guests? This resort was put in probably 20 years ago and I swear nothing has been updated or changed since then (except maybe the staff, and the food, which again both were very nice). I feel like if you are going to call yourself a resort, the entire experience, from the time you get there to the time you leave, should be exceptional. And I didn't get that when we drove up there last night. It could be so great and I hope somebody will read this and make some much needed updates and changes.
