Going for shabbos to "The Palace" was beyond disappointing. The manager shouted at my family for no reason, displaying an incredibly rude and disrespectful attitude. The waitress was very unhelpful, adding to the unpleasant experience. The food tasted like it had been frozen. Interestingly, before I went, I was advised by several people not to go, each sharing their own negative experiences. The prices are depending on your nose. Think twice before you book! Don’t make the same mistake I did.

The "Hotels Near Of Me" category is often utilized by travelers seeking accommodations within a specific geographical area, whether for immediate needs or for planning future trips. The Palace fits this niche for those visiting Fleischmanns and the wider Catskills region, particularly for guests seeking a hotel that provides dedicated kosher amenities and a community-oriented environment. Its long-standing presence in an area historically known for its Jewish vacation resorts means it occupies a unique space in the local hospitality landscape.
The Palace, despite its grand name, is described as a "smaller structure" compared to some of the sprawling Catskills resorts of old, yet it possesses its own charm. The interior reportedly features "marble floors" and a "brightly-lit interior," suggesting a focus on cleanliness and a somewhat classic aesthetic. While specific details about its general ambiance are not extensively available, the historical context of Fleischmanns as a popular summer retreat, especially for New Yorkers escaping the summer heat, implies a setting of natural beauty and tranquility. The village itself is nestled in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, surrounded by picturesque landscapes. The overall environment of The Palace, as a "kosher hotel" in a village with a strong Jewish community, inherently provides a unique cultural atmosphere, especially during Shabbos. Guests are likely to find a communal feel, particularly around meal times and religious observances. The property's outdoor areas might offer opportunities for quiet contemplation, though public information on specific garden or recreational spaces is limited. Its location on Wagner Avenue places it within the village of Fleischmanns, providing a connection to local life while still offering the peace of the Catskill Mountains. This blend of community and natural setting contributes to a specific type of ambiance, distinct from larger, more commercial hotels often found when searching on "Hotels Near Of Me."
The core services and amenities at The Palace are tailored to its primary clientele, especially those observing Shabbos and kashrut. A significant feature is the provision of "Shabbos Meals," which are consistently highlighted in positive reviews as being "prepared in a beautiful appetizing manner and with the utmost quality and heimshe taste." The term "heimshe" suggests a traditional, homemade, and comforting quality, which is highly valued. While detailed general amenities for all rooms are not publicly elaborated upon, the focus on providing a comfortable experience for guests observing religious traditions implies attention to specific needs. For instance, in kosher-focused accommodations, amenities like hot plates, hot water urns, and other Shabbos-friendly provisions are typically available. The presence of a "Shul" (synagogue) and a "mikvah" (ritual bath) on the premises, or within very close walking distance, is a critical service for guests, particularly Orthodox Jewish patrons. One source indicates "a mikvah" at The Palace, further underscoring its specialized religious services. While not explicitly stated for all rooms, other standard hotel amenities like comfortable bedding and private bathrooms would be expected. The level of service, as indicated by one review, can be "5 Star service," suggesting a commitment to guest satisfaction by at least some staff members. However, as with any service-oriented business, individual experiences can vary, as highlighted by other feedback regarding staff interactions. The emphasis on tailored services for a specific community makes The Palace a unique offering in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category within the Catskills.
The most distinctive feature of The Palace is its deeply rooted connection to and provision for the Orthodox Jewish community. As one of the few remaining "kosher hotels" in Fleischmanns, an area historically significant in the "Borscht Belt," it serves a vital role for this demographic. The hotel's ability to provide "Shabbos Meals, goodies, and Sunday breakfast" with "utmost quality and heimshe taste" is a primary draw. This catering to specific dietary and religious requirements is a unique selling point that sets it apart from conventional hotels. The availability of a Shul on-site or nearby, and specifically a mikvah, are essential facilities that define the hotel's specialized nature. Beyond religious services, The Palace is described as a place where "many couples have been matched" in decades past, highlighting its historical role as a social hub within the Jewish community, especially during the summer months. While its external amenities like a "basketball court" and "tennis courts" might appear overgrown in some observations, their very existence speaks to a past where recreational activities were a part of the resort experience. The mention of "children played cards and chess" in the lobby and a "social room used as a day camp" further suggests a family-friendly environment with communal spaces for interaction. The hotel's long history as part of Fleischmanns' development as a summer resort for Jewish families also lends it a unique historical significance. For guests seeking a truly community-centric and religiously observant vacation experience, The Palace offers a niche that is rarely found in general "Hotels Near Of Me" searches.
Promotional information for The Palace largely relies on its reputation within the Orthodox Jewish community and the direct experiences of its guests. The customer reviews provided offer a stark contrast, reflecting both highly positive and significantly negative experiences. One guest describes their stay as "absolutely great," praising the "5 Star service" and delectable Shabbos meals, going so far as to say it was "truly a pleasurable experience." This glowing review suggests that when The Palace delivers on its promise, it does so exceptionally well, creating a "beautiful appetizing manner" and "heimishe taste" that resonates deeply with its target audience. This positive feedback would naturally draw individuals and families looking for a high-quality, kosher vacation. Conversely, another review describes a "beyond disappointing" experience, citing "incredibly rude and disrespectful attitude" from the manager, "unhelpful" waitstaff, and "frozen" tasting food. The warning, "Think twice before you book! Don’t make the same mistake I did," is a strong deterrent. This dichotomy of reviews highlights that while The Palace can offer an exceptional experience for some, consistency in service and quality may vary, leading to potentially polar opposite guest perceptions. For potential guests searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," these contrasting reviews underscore the importance of personal expectations and perhaps direct inquiry about the specific services or atmosphere they seek. The property's mention in historical contexts as a "smaller structure that has marble floors, a brightly-lit interior, and a mikvah" suggests that it maintains certain classic elements. While direct promotional campaigns are not evident in the provided information, its continued operation and presence in the Fleischmanns community imply it continues to serve its dedicated clientele. For those specifically seeking a kosher-friendly hotel with a communal atmosphere for Shabbos and family gatherings, The Palace could be a suitable option, but guests should be prepared for a range of service outcomes based on prior feedback.

Sep 24, 2024 · Shimon DeutchI had the chance to spend my weekend with my friends at The Palace. The only thing I can say is, horrible management. No manners, the food was not the best, and not all of the mattresses were good. Please make sure to research the management before you make your decision!
