Room was clean and comfortable . Check in was easy and the woman at the desk was friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub were clean and in inviting and felt great after a long drive. We stayed because snowstorm was coming and decided to hang out here instead of driving back to RI. Great choice. The employees had great camaraderie with each other and all seemed happy. We made a great choice to stay here. Thank you

One of the standout features of the Hilton Garden Inn Poughkeepsie/Fishkill, as frequently mentioned by guests, is its pool and hot tub. These facilities are consistently described as clean and inviting, providing a perfect opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation, especially after a long journey. The positive feedback on these amenities underscores their value to guests seeking to unwind. Another notable aspect is the positive work environment among the hotel employees. However, an objective introduction also requires addressing areas where guests have experienced issues. The hotel has a pet-friendly policy, which is a valuable feature for many travelers. There is a non-refundable pet deposit, as noted by a past guest. While this policy allows pets, there was an instance where an additional charge for "Pet Sheet Damages" was levied due to excessive dog hair. This situation caused confusion and dissatisfaction for the guest, raising questions about the clarity of the pet policy and the justification of such charges. It is important for prospective guests traveling with pets to clarify the specifics of the pet policy, including potential additional fees, to avoid misunderstandings. The hotel did, in this particular instance, follow up and issue a refund, indicating a commitment to resolving guest concerns, even if issues arise. Another minor point mentioned was a "wonky" timer for the spa pool, requiring multiple twists to activate. While not a major issue, it highlights a small area for potential maintenance attention.
In terms of promotional information, while specific limited-time offers are best found directly on the Hilton Garden Inn website or through booking platforms, hotels in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, like this one, often participate in loyalty programs, offer seasonal discounts, or provide packages for extended stays, business travel, or local events. Guests interested in current promotions should inquire directly or check online. The consistently praised clean and comfortable rooms, combined with the inviting pool and hot tub, often serve as their best form of promotion, attracting travelers looking for a reliable and enjoyable stay. The hotel’s commitment to addressing guest issues, as evidenced by the follow-up and refund in the pet fee situation, also speaks to their dedication to customer satisfaction, which can be a strong promotional point for return visits.
In summary, the Hilton Garden Inn Poughkeepsie/Fishkill stands as a strong contender within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, offering a compelling blend of comfort, convenience, and attentive service. Its clean and comfortable rooms, appealing pool and hot tub facilities, and a generally friendly and helpful staff contribute to a positive guest experience. While the pet policy has seen some isolated issues regarding charges, the hotel's willingness to resolve these concerns demonstrates a commitment to guest satisfaction. For local users and travelers alike, this hotel provides a reliable and pleasant option for accommodation in the Fishkill, NY area.

Feb 09, 2025 · robin kempI thought I’d had a nice stay until after I checked out. I brought my dog and paid the $75 non-refundable deposit. However, I noticed on my receipt that there was another $150 charge for “Pet Sheet Damages”. When I called to find out what that was about they said the housekeeper said the sheets had too much dog hair in them and they couldn’t wash it out. What’s the point of the $75 fee if it doesn’t cover extra cleaning? How are you not able to get dog hair out? How are those sheets worth $150?? Why was none of this was explained in the pet policy I saw before booking? And how am I supposed to know what too much dog hair is?? I didn’t interact much with the staff during my stay, but it was otherwise pleasant and my friends and I enjoyed the spa pool, though the timer was wonky and you had to twist it back and forth 2 or 3 times for it to finally come on. UPDATE: I received the email in the picture attached and was refunded for the extra fee. Sounds like more of an app developer issue than a staff issue. I appreciate being followed up with!
Mar 30, 2025 · Mareyah Lillian WashingtonMy goto hotel whenever I'm in the area prompt, professional and courteous staff. Modern rooms with the necessary amenities needed for a trucker. Firm beds, super hot shower with excellent pressure. Plus, there is ample parking for trucks. Just get there early enough. Kudos!
Apr 11, 2025 · Akeem KarimLet me start by saying that this is a fine hotel if you need a place to sleep. The employees alone would justify a 5 star review. They really were wonderful. The beds are comfy and the rooms are spacious. Sadly half the rooms face Interstate-84 and the hotel is so close that half the rooms are too noisy to sleep in, even for a heavy sleeper like myself (seriously avoid any EVEN numbered room). Again the staff was wonderful and moved me to an ODD numbered room for my 2nd night. Also, I know it's a Hilton policy and not the individual hotels policy, but as a diamond member, we no longer get free breakfast, instead we're offered a $10 food and beverage credit per day per person (up to 2 people). With that said, the breakfast buffet is $21 each and is about half the size of a Holiday Inn Express buffet (which is free for all guests). The hot food on the buffet was also sitting on steam trays and then had heat lamps above them, so the food was super overcooked. It was a HUGE disappointment. I smartened up the second day and ordered a Breakfast Burrito from the menu for $11. It was fine, a little bland - literally just eggs, sausage and potatoes in a wrap, but at least it was cooked to order and wasn't sitting in a steam tray for hours. My other big disappointment was that upon arrival, I was informed that the pool and hot tub were out of service for maintenance. Not going to lie, I purposely picked this hotel over the Holiday Inn Express across the street because of the hot tub (both have pools). Had they mentioned online or in an email prior to arrival, I would have quickly switched hotels. Unfortunately I was doing a late check-in and only staying two nights, so I just decided to roll with it. They did tell me that I could use the pool at a hotel nearby, but I didn't really feel like trekking across the parking lot in wet swimwear in late April. Finally, and this is just a pet peeve for me, but all the light fixtures around the property are a mix of two different types of light bulbs (soft white and daylight styles). Soft whites look more like traditional bulbs with a yellowish tint to them, daylight bulbs have a slight blue tint and always remind me of hospital lights. Walking through hallways and you see these mixed everywhere and it just looks like they are buying whatever bulb is cheaper that week. Mixing the two really makes the space lose that inviting feeling that hotels are supposed to portray. Again, it's a pet peeve, not a deal breaker, but the noise issues, terrible breakfast, and lack of communication about the pool has ensured that I will not likely ever stay at this property again.
Apr 30, 2025 · Kevin FediganFriendly staff. Rooms are fine. Gym is really small with minimal equipment. Breakfast buffet is average, but the price went up from $15 to $20.95 from January 2025 to February 2025. Steep 40% increase without any changes for the customer that I could see. Not much around the hotel that's walkable for other food options.
