Clean rooms with puffy pillows. The staff was nice. The breakfast buffet was nice and had excellent bacon. Convenient location just off rt 15 that felt safe. Our kid enjoyed the pool, which we were told never officially closes. The pool has a lift for disabled persons. Parking is an open lot. No worries for tall vehicles like mine. We would definitely stay here again.
For local users and travelers seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Lewisburg/New Columbia area of Pennsylvania, the Holiday Inn Express Lewisburg/New Columbia by IHG stands as a prominent and often-considered option. Located at 160 Commerce Park Dr, New Columbia, PA 17856, USA, this hotel, part of the widely recognized IHG brand, aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay for a diverse range of guests, from families on leisure trips to business travelers. An objective introduction to this property requires a comprehensive look at its environment, the services it offers, its key features, and the promotional information that attracts its clientele.
The environment of the Holiday Inn Express Lewisburg/New Columbia is characterized by its convenient and accessible location. Situated just off Route 15, a major highway, it offers excellent connectivity for those traveling by car. One guest specifically notes, "Convenient location just off rt 15 that felt safe." This strategic placement allows for easy access to nearby towns like Lewisburg, known for Bucknell University, and to various attractions in the wider Susquehanna River Valley. While its immediate surroundings on Commerce Park Drive might be a commercial area with other businesses or hotels, the emphasis from guests is on its ease of access rather than extensive walkable amenities. The ample "open lot" parking is a practical environmental feature, particularly beneficial for guests with "tall vehicles" or those traveling with larger vehicles, ensuring hassle-free arrival and departure. The rural setting of New Columbia also suggests a generally quieter atmosphere compared to a downtown hotel, contributing to a more relaxed stay, although the proximity to a major road means there might be some ambient traffic noise, which is common for hotels of this type.
The services at Holiday Inn Express Lewisburg/New Columbia are generally aligned with the brand's commitment to providing essential comforts and conveniences. A key service offered is the complimentary breakfast buffet, which is a significant value proposition for guests. One reviewer specifically praises it for being "nice and had excellent bacon." However, a contrasting experience highlights potential inconsistencies in this service, with a guest being "rudely told 'well looks like you will have to wait'" when food ran out, and later, "no coffee either." This indicates that while the breakfast itself can be good, the management of supply and customer interaction during busy periods might sometimes fall short. The hotel also features a swimming pool, a popular amenity, especially for families. The comment that "Our kid enjoyed the pool, which we were told never officially closes" suggests flexible hours, a great benefit, although IHG brand standards usually specify pool operating hours. The pool is also equipped with a "lift for disabled persons," indicating a commitment to accessibility. Other standard services for Holiday Inn Express properties typically include complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and a 24-hour front desk for assistance at any time. The staff, for the most part, are described positively, with one guest noting, "The staff was nice." This overall indicates a service model focused on core amenities and general guest satisfaction, though with occasional inconsistencies.
The features of the Holiday Inn Express Lewisburg/New Columbia contribute significantly to its guest experience. The rooms are described as "Clean rooms with puffy pillows," pointing to a focus on hygiene and comfort, particularly with bedding. The "comfortable" bed is also noted as a positive feature by another guest. These elements are fundamental to a good night's sleep, which is a primary expectation for any hotel stay. Rooms are typically equipped with premium bedding, a flat-screen HDTV with premium channels, a desk, an iron and ironing board, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. Many rooms also feature coffee/tea makers. The presence of an indoor pool with a lift for disabled persons makes it a family-friendly establishment and accessible to a wider range of guests. Free self-parking and free RV/bus/truck parking are additional practical features, addressing specific traveler needs. The hotel also offers a 24-hour business center and a meeting room, catering to corporate travelers. While one guest noted, "The room was decent," the general sentiment from positive reviews emphasizes cleanliness and the availability of amenities that enhance comfort and convenience during a stay. However, the negative review highlights a potential variability in service quality, particularly concerning breakfast availability, which guests should be aware of.

The pet-friendly policy is another strong promotional asset, catering to a growing segment of travelers. The enthusiastic review "We would definitely stay here again" serves as powerful word-of-mouth promotion, indicating high levels of guest satisfaction. Apr 15, 2025 · Robert WillseyWell a hot breakfast would be nice but plan on waiting. The room was decent. Bed was comfortable. No food when I can down for breakfast. The was rudely tolk “well looks like you will have to wait”. So ……I go back upstairs get my things to leave and guess what……no coffee either, with the same response. So this establishment will “have to wait” because I will never spend another dollar here nor will I have my workers stay here.
May 13, 2025 · Crypto EagleSpent the weekend for a tennis tournament- the hotel actually had 3 different teams at the hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. A big shoutout to Chelsea, who kept the breakfast going each morning. She made sure things were really stocked, area was very clean and she was extremely friendly. Location was ideal!
Apr 21, 2025 · Kay MorelandWe enjoyed very good sleep quality at this HIE&S location...very comfortable king-sized bed and a quiet room/floor. We received a room upgrade. That was very nice. The standard hot breakfast was very good as usual. It must've gone thru some renovations in recent years. The bathroom floor seemed old, though. There were no parking spaces for Diamond Elite guests. I thought that was unusual, but the parking lot seemed to have been resurfaced and lined recently.
May 05, 2025 · Michael NishMy boyfriend and I were on a two day getaway. The room was fabulous. So clean and nice. I felt bad for the kid who checked us in. Looked sick… we got up for breakfast 8..9… nothing was really left. There was no eggs left. That happens it’s OK. We did own your ear today. Left a little earlier because we were trying to go look at flea markets. But. A very nice place to stay well worth it and recommended.
