Our church had a marriage retreat here. 25 couples and the staff handled us perfectly, friendly, professional and always ready to meet our needs. Breakfast was ok but the hotel is very close to downtown that you can walk to everywhere. We will definitely be staying here when we come back. The staff and hotel made the retreat awesome

Feb 11, 2025 · Kevin MccarthyThe room was beautiful and very cozy. We especially loved all the accent lighting in the room. The customer service was excellent. Checkin was easy and Aiden was very accommodating when we asked her for more pillows due to a feather allergy. Katie was also very kind checking on us to make sure we had all we needed for breakfast and there were so many options for breakfast. We will definitely be staying here again.
Feb 17, 2025 · Kim ObermeyerI checked in yesterday and thought everything was fine until during the night I realized the air conditioning was not working well enough to cool the room. Even on 61 degrees. They unit panel was complicated so I tried calling the front desk for assistance but got a busy signal. At 430am I went to the lobby and was told there was no one available to come instruct me on working the panel and 1 girl was the only employee in the building. She offered to let me switch rooms and I did so. It took me an hour to move my things and unpack again. I did the same thing with the air conditioning panel in the 2nd room and could tell it was definitely working better than the other room. I was told by the night person working that'd I'd get a discount. After having to get up and work remotely at 8am on next to no sleep i spoke with the manager around 12:30pm. They only gave me $15 off a 3 night $950 stay after losing a night's sleep. I argued this and I never even leave reviews but these people had no concern for the hassle I had. They finally agreed to $40 off which still is insufficient for the lack of service and concern for their guests. I was told it was my fault because they checked my 1st room and I apparently didn't know how to worl the unit. Again, no one was available when I called the front desk or when I went downstairs for help. I was literally told "you can try googling it but that's honestly no help either." This is great little town but I would not stay here unless price is a lot less than what I'm paying.
May 08, 2025 · April BrockWhere to start.... Firstly, I understand that staffing is tough and holidays are hard to keep most places fully staffed. I get it. So here it goes. We had a Friday night stay, one night only, 12/20-12/21. Starting with the IHG website: the constant pop-ups and difficulty in telling a difference in the rooms made for a poor searching experience. Then, they only send one confirmation email and you get nothing else even til the day of your reservation. The amenities list online is brief and with no hours listed for breakfast. Check-in was at 3pm. We arrived at 2:55 with bags in hand and they told us housekeeping was still working on it, but that our room was reserved. We were told it would be quick and to wait in the lobby / have some coffee and they'll come get us when the room is ready. At 3:30 when I asked about our room again, I was told it would be a while. Next time tell me that first so we don't burn a half hour sitting around. So we walked the square and did some shopping hoping to have access to our room before dinner time. Thankfully we got the call and came to put our stuff in our room around 4:30. We were told of the amenities and breakfast hours at this time. Our room reeked of cleaners so badly we could hardly stand it. We dropped our bags and turned around. Even after being out of the room for 3 more hours, the cleaners still hit us in the face when we came back after dinner. We usually travel with reusable water bottles to reduce waste and save money. So that evening when our waters were empty, I went looking for a water fountain. No sink water for me, thanks. No water fountains on the floor, no water spigot at the ice machine, none at the lobby. I was told there was a water fountain in the basement gym but it was closed off for repairs. I was politely offered to purchase waters from the convenience counter. $2.99 for a single off-brand 16.9oz bottle of water. No thank you. Thankfully Walgreens was still open so I had to get in my car at 9:45 pm in 30° weather to go buy a 24-pack that I didn't need for $4. The bed was comfy and clean without too much fragrance and the room cooled off nicely (it was 70 when we arrived) so we slept well. Breakfast time. First off, the assortment of food is good. Cinnamon rolls, pancakes, toast and bagels, fruit, etc you name it. Decent continental breakfast options. But not once in the 3 times I went through the line was a little bit of everything available. The counters were dirty, the food was poorly stocked, the fancy pancake machine was out of batter 2/3 times, there was no butter, forks were out every time I went through, and the amount of bacon they put out was depleted every few people (Delicious bacon by the way). I think there was only one attendant working breakfast and the poor lady was doing her best. They use disposable plates and utensils which I don't mind but did not expect. Check out time: the clerk had her earbuds in, barely said hi, did not ask how our stay was, and did not say thank you or come back or anything. 👎 It was nice to stay in Dahlonega as it always is, but we will not be back to this holiday inn.
Dec 23, 2024 · Scott HarlanVery good for a Holiday Inn Express. New construction, new carpet in rooms, halls, and common areas. Pin-Drop quiet in our room which is on the inner row. Elevators, laundry machines, ice machines quiet, clean, and in working order. HVAC good and quiet. Water pressure is good at sink, but shower-head has regulator in it so it is not the torrent level you might get at an intercontinental but it is adequate. Hot water supply was excellent at 6 PM. Most importantly, cleaning staff is working at a four star hotel level. Every surface is clean. No mildew in bathroom. No dust on top of picture frames. No soap residue on entry. Room is odorless. Mattresses are new and firm. Pillows soft synthetic down not solid foam. We were offered extra towel sets without having to ask. Breakfast is most basic of fare. Coffee was acceptable, as were pancake machine fresh pancakes. Pastries I looked at and rejected. Fruit was bananas apples, and juice oranges. Had selection of individually packaged yogurts and milk.
