I would happily give this place 5 stars if it wasn’t so dirty. Overall a good place for our family of 6. Loved how quiet it was, breakfast was decent and the location is great. However, the pool is what my family looks forward to most about hotels and this one really disappointed us. It was full of bugs and just gross feeling. The breakfast area was full of the same crumbs day after day (we stayed for 10 days) and it was clear that no one was cleaning up after mealtime. We also asked for more towels at one point and were handed bath mats instead and told that was all they had. Aside from the lack of cleanliness, we did enjoy our stay and would consider coming again in hopes of it being a better experience.
For individuals searching for extended stay accommodations using a "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, particularly in the Boston Metro West area encompassing Billerica, Bedford, and Burlington, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston-Billerica/Bedford/Burlington presents itself as an option designed for longer visits. Located at 35 Middlesex Turnpike, Billerica, MA 01821, USA, this hotel aims to provide a more home-like experience than a traditional hotel room, with amenities geared towards comfort and convenience for longer durations.
The environment surrounding the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Billerica is typical of a suburban corporate hub. Middlesex Turnpike is a busy road that offers relatively straightforward access to major highways, including Route 3 and I-95 (Route 128), which connect to various business parks, tech companies, and other points of interest in the region. Billerica itself is part of the larger Boston metropolitan area, known for its mix of residential areas, light industrial zones, and corporate campuses. While the immediate vicinity of the hotel might be more functional than scenic, its strategic location provides convenient access to the surrounding towns of Burlington and Bedford, which offer a broader range of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. The area is generally well-connected for those with vehicles, facilitating travel for business or leisure throughout the diverse communities of Metro West.
Homewood Suites by Hilton properties are designed with an emphasis on services that cater to extended-stay guests. A significant benefit is the complimentary hot breakfast offered daily, typically including a variety of hot and cold items to help guests start their day. Additionally, Homewood Suites often hosts complimentary evening socials (usually Monday through Thursday), which can include light meals, snacks, and beverages, providing a convenient option for dinner and a chance to socialize with other guests. The hotel also typically provides complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property and in guest suites, which is essential for both business and leisure travelers. Guests can access a 24-hour front desk for assistance, and complimentary grocery shopping service might be available, allowing guests to stock their in-suite kitchens without the hassle of a supermarket visit. For added convenience, on-site self-serve laundry facilities are usually available for guest use. While some reviews mention issues with staff attitude regarding towel requests, and a lack of consistent cleanliness in common areas, the intention of Homewood Suites is to provide supportive and comprehensive services for long-term guests.
The key features of Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston-Billerica/Bedford/Burlington revolve around providing spacious, suite-style accommodations. Each suite is designed to be more than just a room, offering separate living and sleeping areas, which is a significant advantage for families or individuals needing more space. A defining feature is the fully equipped kitchen found in every suite. This kitchen typically includes a full-sized refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and all necessary cookware, dishes, and utensils. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can lead to substantial cost savings and cater to specific dietary needs during longer stays. Each suite also generally includes a comfortable living room area with a sofa bed, a desk and ergonomic chair for a dedicated workspace, and flat-screen TVs. For recreation, the hotel typically features an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. However, it's important to note that recent customer reviews have highlighted significant concerns regarding the cleanliness and condition of the pool, with descriptions of it being "full of bugs and just gross feeling," and also mentioning issues with its functionality, including a period of no hot water or a non-working pool. Other recurring issues mentioned include the general condition of the hotel, with hallways looking like a "demolition project," torn molding, broken flooring pieces, and issues with room maintenance such as dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dirty toilets, stained couches, torn beds, and cockroach sightings. These suggest significant inconsistencies in the property's upkeep. Despite these serious concerns, the hotel does offer pet-friendly accommodations, usually with associated fees, and provides parking. The hotel also aims to be quiet, a positive aspect noted by at least one family. While the property is a Hilton brand, some recent experiences indicate that it may not consistently meet the higher expectations associated with the Hilton name, particularly in terms of cleanliness and maintenance.
Regarding promotional information, Homewood Suites by Hilton properties, including this location, often participate in Hilton's various loyalty programs and promotions. Guests can typically find offers through the Hilton Honors program, allowing them to earn points for stays that can be redeemed for future nights, experiences, or other benefits. The hotel may offer specific discounts for extended stays (e.g., weekly or monthly rates), advance purchase rates, or special packages tailored to business travelers or families. It is always advisable to contact the hotel directly at (978) 670-7111 or +1 978-670-7111 to inquire about current promotions, confirm the availability and functionality of specific amenities (especially the pool and hot water), and discuss any long-term stay discounts. While the extended-stay model inherently provides value through in-room kitchens and complimentary breakfast, prospective guests should carefully consider the recent customer feedback regarding cleanliness and maintenance issues. For those prioritizing a budget-friendly option with kitchen facilities and ample space, and who are willing to overlook potential maintenance shortcomings, this Homewood Suites could be an option. However, guests with higher expectations for cleanliness and overall property condition may wish to confirm recent improvements before booking, especially given the serious concerns raised by multiple reviewers about the general upkeep and pest control.

Mar 28, 2025 · Caroline HigginsIf I could give 0 stars I would... Upon check in we were informed our room might not be ready (arrived at 3:40pm) had checked in on the app for 3pm, were informed the wifi was not working and that the week before our stay they had no hot water or working pool. That should have been our red flag. After waiting a bit for our room we finally went up. The halls look like they are in the middle of a demolition project with the molding torn up and pieces of flooring broken. Key fobs were torn off doors as we walked through the halls and it was hot in the halls. We got to our room which had dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the toilet was horrendously dirty. We went to the pool because the kids were excited so we looked past all of these things. After retuning from the pool everyone wanted a shower so my husband ran down to the front desk where he asked for more towels to which the lady replied very passive aggressively "towels can be used more than once you know" my husband took the towels and commented to me how rude she was to him. The beds were torn apart underneath and the material holding the box spring together was in shreds hanging down. The couch was stained and in the same condition as the beds. We ordered food for dinner and as we were eating at the table 5 cockroaches walked across the counter. It was disgusting. 2 of our 3 children were already in bed so we went to the front desk to complain and were told we could get $100 off of our room. The air conditioner in the room was not in working order as it was very loud and continued to blow cold air all night and was not able to be turned down. Overall our experience was not great and we will not be back. I had higher expectations for Hilton brand hotels.
May 20, 2025 · Kirsten GuerretteThe front desk attendents don't have any sense of urgency or customer relations experience. They are very cold and unprofessional. The rooms are decent at best, but the doors slam and you can hear every word through the walls. To update this review, I believe them to also be taking part in dishonest business practices after having my original prepaid stay canceled upon arrival, without refund.
May 09, 2025 · Joseph CockerillBreakfast was cold and tasted cheap. the women preparing the food and “cleaning” the area smelled like wet dog The lobby coffee was always empty The fitness center lacked: wipes to clean machine, towels, water. Room smelled awful no ventilation. Recumbent bicycle and elliptical were not maintained and now do not operate correctly. Room doors slam shut all hours of day and you can hear showers running Also AC had an odor, as did kitchen. The heat didn’t work (it was December) The staff seems in over their head and management didn’t work long hours (I stayed several weeks) If I never see another Hilton it will be too soon
Apr 08, 2025 · Tim SteinbergI just wanted to have the attention of management for a minute. The gym should have water, right? Do you consider safety when it comes to fixing the premises? If so, go ahead and take a look at the pictures of the 3rd floor. I recommend that at least you place safety cones or warning ⚠️ signs to avoid accidents. In addition to vacuum at least one time per week.
