I absolutely love this hotel. We’ve now stayed twice- the first time in a bit of a larger room. The smaller room makes the smart design more evident, with the way the shower room and the water closet are separated. Ingenious doors to the shower room. Speaking of showers, theirs has the most incredible water pressure you almost don’t need soap to get clean. Adorable touches throughout- live plants, hand-thrown pottery mugs, comfy beds, and the most adorable Vermont Flannel robes. I also loved the coffee bar in the hallway with everything one needs, and is so far and above the typical in-room stuff. We haven’t dined there yet, but the bar is top notch. Perfectly convenient to Hen of the Wood, where we had dinner last night. I will continue to happily forgo my Bonvoy status for a chance to stay at this lovely hotel.

Features: Distinctive Elements for an Authentic Stay

Hotel Vermont's features go beyond standard offerings to create a truly unique and memorable experience:

  • Local and Sustainable Focus: The hotel is LEED-certified, reflecting its commitment to sustainability. This is evident in practices such as using refillable, locally produced bath products, energy-saving room systems that activate upon guest entry, communal pantries to reduce waste, and sourcing food locally for their restaurants (e.g., 90% of beef from 100% grass-fed sources, 75% of chicken and eggs from pasture-raised sources). They even track sustainability metrics, like recently switching 90% of cane sugar to maple or beet sugar in Juniper. This dedication resonates with guests seeking an environmentally conscious stay. The hotel is also a member of the Burlington 2030 District, aiming to reduce energy and water use by 50% compared to the regional average by 2030.
  • Artisanal Touches: The integration of local artistry is a hallmark, from the hand-thrown pottery mugs in rooms to custom-designed furniture and local artwork throughout the property. This creates a strong sense of place and supports local craftspeople.

Meredith was warm and welcoming from beginning to end. We were excited to see the lake from our room! We really enjoyed the drink station on our floor, it was so nice not to have to purchase water. I loved the Lunaroma products so much that I purchased some online! We loved that we could walk everywhere and didn’t find that inconvenient. I was a little nervous to walk after dark after seeing a few strange people at dinner but there was a police presence on Church Street that put us at ease. We will definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Vermont, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The highlight of our stay was Ace, an excellent and friendly employee who seamlessly served multiple departments, making us feel welcomed and valued. The hotel features a coffee and tea station on each floor, which was a lovely touch for those cozy mornings. Our room was spotless, thanks to the daily housekeeping and turn-down service that truly enhanced our comfort. The rooms themselves were cozy and beautifully decorated with real plants and flowers throughout the hotel, adding a refreshing touch to the atmosphere. Centrally located in downtown Burlington, the hotel is a great base for exploring the area. We dined at the on-site restaurant, Juniper, where we enjoyed fantastic service and a delightful atmosphere. The welcoming lobby, complete with a fireplace, made for a perfect place to relax, and the valet parking was incredibly convenient. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, Hotel Vermont exceeded our expectations, and I can't recommend it highly enough! We can’t wait to return!

Loved this hotel ,the amenities and special touches were great . Pantry area had seltzer on tap, beautiful outdoor terrace, pastries in AM and greatcoffee. Our only complaint was one of the staff at the desk was pretty rude to us. Our room was not ready and staff had switched shifts and this new guy ( large man with a beard )acted like we were bothering him commented that he had just gotten on shift , rolled his eyes and sighed ! That was unfortunate as everyone else was super nice !

This is a nice little hotel. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice layout in the rooms, and they are somewhat 'upscale' in a mid-scale kind of way; they try too hard. They let you know everything is for sale, but there is nothing to really be wowed by there to want. We stayed here for several weekends over the course of a month and enjoyed it very much. Long weekends away to break up the winter. The communal coffee/tea service on each floor works for us. They even put out pastries from time to time. The room refrigerators could be a bit larger though. I recommend it for a nice cozy long weekend.
