This used to be my go-to hotel in the Buckhead area, but recent stays have definitely shown a decline. While the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, cleanliness and maintinance are becoming an issue. I noticed things like obvious mold in the showers and poor drainage on the sinks and showers. The internet has also been extremely slow at times to where I couldn't even get work done. Parking has also gotten way more expensive, almost $20 a night. The free breakfast is good quality though. Location is still really great, convenient to the highway. I'll probably be trying a different hotel next time.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vibrant Buckhead area of Atlanta, the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead offers a contemporary and convenient lodging option. Located at 3242 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA, this hotel aims to provide a comfortable and efficient stay for both business and leisure travelers, making it a frequent choice for many visiting the city.
The Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead was designed with a modern aesthetic, aiming for a fresh and inviting environment. However, recent guest feedback suggests that while the rooms are generally spacious, maintenance and cleanliness have sometimes become a concern. Some guests have "noticed things like obvious mold in the showers and poor drainage on the sinks and showers," indicating a potential decline in upkeep. Despite these specific issues, the hotel's overall ambiance in common areas remains modern and functional, typical of the Hyatt Place brand.
The hotel features 171 guestrooms designed with separate sleeping and living areas, a hallmark of the Hyatt Place experience. Rooms are equipped with the signature "Hyatt Grand Bed®," often praised by guests for being "comfortable." Each room includes a "Cozy Corner" sofa or sofa bed, a 42-inch HDTV with premium channels, a work desk, and a mini-refrigerator. Complimentary wired and wireless internet access is provided, though one guest noted it has been "extremely slow at times to where I couldn't even get work done." Other amenities include a coffee/tea maker, iron/ironing board, and a hair dryer. Bathrooms typically feature a shower/tub combination and complimentary toiletries. The spaciousness of the rooms is a consistent positive, making them suitable for both individuals and families.
The services at Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead are generally well-regarded, though some aspects have drawn criticism. The 24-hour front desk is available for guest assistance, including express check-in and check-out. A key amenity is the complimentary breakfast buffet, which guests often describe as "good quality" and a "yummy" way to start the day. The hotel also features a 24/7 Gallery Menu and a Grab 'n Go Market, offering a variety of freshly prepared meals, sandwiches, and snacks around the clock. The Coffee to Cocktails Bar serves specialty Starbucks® coffee and a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. However, a significant point of concern for some guests has been the front desk's willingness to assist with certain requests, particularly regarding early check-in. One reviewer had a "most expensive 1-hour stay ever" due to a "miscommunication between Hyatt employees" about early check-in availability and the front desk's "disappointed willingness to assist a guest." This suggests that while staff can be friendly, adherence to specific policies and internal communication might need improvement. Luggage storage is available, and dry cleaning/laundry services are also offered.
Key features of the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead include its recreational and business facilities. There is an outdoor swimming pool, typically open seasonally, offering a place to relax and cool off. A 24-hour fitness center is available for guests to maintain their workout routines, though one review indicates it is "very lacking," with "only 2 treadmills, an elliptical and a Peloton bike. Zero free weights or even the space to do a few pushups/situps (no mats either)." This might be a deterrent for guests who prioritize a comprehensive gym. For business travelers, the hotel provides approximately 1,600 square feet of meeting space across two rooms, ideal for small to medium-sized gatherings. A 24-hour business center with computer access and printing facilities is also on site. Parking is available, but it has become notably more expensive, with one guest stating it's "almost $20 a night." The current self-parking fee is $18 per day with in/out privileges. Van-accessible self-parking is also available.
The hotel's location is a significant advantage. Situated on Peachtree Road, it offers great convenience to Buckhead's prominent business and shopping centers. Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, Atlanta's premier shopping destinations, are within easy reach, about 0.8 to 1 mile away, and often walkable. The hotel is also "convenient to the highway," providing easy access to major roads. For public transport, the MARTA Buckhead Station is roughly an 8-minute walk away, connecting guests to downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), which is approximately 20 miles away. The area surrounding the hotel boasts a wide array of dining options, from casual eateries to upscale restaurants. Nearby attractions include the Atlanta History Center, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, and the Buckhead Theatre. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service within a 3-mile radius for added convenience, though guests should confirm its operating hours.
For promotional information, as a Hyatt property, the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead participates in the World of Hyatt loyalty program, allowing members to earn points and enjoy exclusive benefits such as discounted rates and late check-out. The hotel frequently offers various promotions, which can include discounts for AAA members, AARP members, government/military personnel, and corporate rates. Special packages that bundle parking or offer bonus points may also be available. Guests are encouraged to check the official Hyatt website or contact the hotel directly at (404) 869-6161 or +1 404-869-6161 for the most up-to-date offers and availability. The Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead is also a pet-friendly hotel, welcoming dogs (maximum two per room, weighing 50 lbs or less each, or a combined weight of 75 lbs) for an additional non-refundable fee. The fee is typically $75 for stays of 1-6 nights and $125 for stays of 7-30 nights, with different policies for longer stays. Service animals are exempt from these fees.
In summary, the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead is a convenient and generally comfortable option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Atlanta. Its prime Buckhead location, spacious rooms, complimentary breakfast, and pet-friendly policy are strong advantages. While recent feedback suggests some areas like cleanliness, internet speed, and gym facilities could see improvement, and early check-in policies require careful confirmation, its overall value proposition makes it a solid choice for many travelers.

Apr 06, 2025 · Nicholas IsolaI was originally at another hotel close to the Hyatt Place and woke up one morning without hot water at the other hotel to take a shower. I frequently stay at Hyatt Place and called at 6am to see if they had availability. I confirmed over the phone that they did and that I could check in that morning at 6:30am, and stay through the following evening. Once I arrived at the Hyatt Place, they indicated that I could not check in till 3pm that afternoon, unless I was willing to change my reservation to indicate that I had checked in the night before and was willing to check out by 12pm that day. I explained that I had just confirmed the capability to check in early over the phone to the receptionists at the front desk and they said, "someone did call us asking about hot water and availability, but they didn't ask about early check in." To me, this is a miscommunication between Hyatt employees. The people at the front desk did not seem to care and were not willing to call someone to confirm my reservation details. Because of time, I checked in, took a shower, and checked out. It was the most expensive 1-hour stay ever. I am disappointed in their willingness to assist a guest.
Mar 31, 2025 · Julia TThe Front desk employees, one male who worked at night & one female who worked during the day, both were extremely rude. me and the other lady I was with came in at separate times and both experienced the same disrespectful treatment. It was very unprofessional. Everything else was great, the room and the breakfast!!
May 03, 2025 · Abbigail GrahamHad to ask for a microwave, and the fridge was not getting cold maintenance. Change it out twice and give us a new one. The exhaust fan didn't work in the bathroom. The floor in the hallways had a funny smell
May 01, 2025 · Vertina WattsWe get into the hotel as usual, loud clanking elevator as usual ina. Hotel. We get into our rooms. The smell of fresh paint almost knocks me out. We couldn’t even figure out how to shut off some of the lights, and there was still these little crumbs on the floor. We need more pillows and ask them. “Sorry, we are out of pillows.” WHAT KIND OF HOTEL RUNS OUT OF PILLOWS??? Do not go here, its not worth the time and the only good views we got was a couple of big trees by a busy street.
