Attended a conference next door and staying at the Hyatt was perfect for this. The garage parking (where I was) was so convenient, with the door being on the same level as check-in, and the conference center adjoins the hotel right at the parking garage as well. The room was nice. Especially loved the towels ha! Our group hung out in the bar area in the evening where there was one guy working and it took so long to get drinks, but not a huge deal–I’m not dinging the rating for that. I didn’t love the breakfast option in the morning, because I didn’t have time to sit down (and didn’t want to pay for the buffet) and the little cafe on the main floor was out of bagels, meaning there were only sugary sweet options left. When checking out, I asked about validating my parking because a sign in the garage said to bring your ticket in to do that- the woman at the desk said it’s only $5 cheaper if I do it here for you and it will take awhile, so up to you if you wanna do that… she obviously didn’t want to do it. It wasn’t a good impression for that last interaction of the stay. And yes, I did want the $5 cheaper option. It cost $12 to park-it’s not free… I guess it’s $17 regularly. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay there again.

Hyatt Regency Rochester Introduce

When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vibrant downtown area of Rochester, New York, the Hyatt Regency Rochester stands as a significant and often top-of-mind option. Located at 125 East Main Street, Rochester, NY 14604, USA, this hotel is designed to cater to a diverse range of travelers, from conference attendees and business professionals to leisure guests exploring the city's cultural and entertainment offerings.

The environment of the Hyatt Regency Rochester is a major selling point, defined by its prime downtown location and connectivity. Situated along the scenic Genesee River, the hotel offers impressive views of the city or the river from many of its rooms. Its most notable environmental feature is its direct connection via a climate-controlled skyway to the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. This makes it an exceptionally convenient choice for conference participants, as one guest specifically noted, "Attended a conference next door and staying at the Hyatt was perfect for this." The hotel is also steps away from the Blue Cross Arena, a major venue for sports and concerts, and within easy walking distance of other downtown attractions. While the immediate area is bustling with urban activity, the convenience to major landmarks like the Geva Theatre Center, Strong National Museum of Play, and various dining and entertainment districts is a significant advantage. The hotel's attached covered parking garage, owned by the city of Rochester, provides convenient access to check-in, further enhancing the ease of arrival. The hotel has undergone significant renovations, reportedly an $18 million upgrade completed in 2017, aimed at transforming its interior and enhancing the guest experience.

The services at the Hyatt Regency Rochester are comprehensive, aiming to provide a full-service experience for its guests. The 24-hour front desk is central to guest support, though customer experiences can vary, with some praising friendly and kind staff like Bernard, while others recall "rude" or unhelpful interactions, particularly regarding issues like parking validation. Dining options are a key feature, with the hotel offering multiple venues. Astor on Main serves a daily breakfast buffet (at an additional cost), which guests have described as "decent food but nothing too special," or simply "delicious." The Street Craft Kitchen & Bar offers a vibrant atmosphere for lunch, dinner, and drinks. During warmer months, the Center City Terrace + Lounge on the 4th floor provides a unique outdoor rooftop experience with a bar, dinner, late-night bites, and even live music events. While one review mentioned slow bar service due to limited staff, it was not a "huge deal" for the guest. The hotel also offers room service for those preferring to dine in their rooms. For business travelers, a 24-hour business center and extensive meeting spaces are available, with the hotel offering over 21,000 square feet of versatile event space, including a Grand Ballroom and various breakout rooms. Additional services include dry cleaning, laundry facilities, a concierge service, and a complimentary airport shuttle, which can be very beneficial for out-of-town guests. The hotel is also pet-friendly, welcoming dogs up to 50 pounds (or combined weight of 75 pounds for two dogs) for a fee, with a portion of the fee donated to a local animal shelter.

The features of the Hyatt Regency Rochester are designed for comfort and modern convenience. The hotel has 336 rooms and suites, many offering views of the Genesee River or the city skyline. Guest rooms are typically equipped with a 55-inch flat-screen HDTV with streaming capabilities, a coffee maker with arabica blend coffee, tea-making facilities, a minifridge, iron and ironing board, and an in-room safe. However, recent customer feedback has pointed out some inconsistencies in room quality and maintenance. Issues reported include "disgusting" bathrooms with unclean shower heads, vents, and floors, insufficient lighting in showers, dust on surfaces, and unclean door handles. Additionally, the air conditioning system was noted to only function when "actively blowing," leading to rooms becoming warm, and pillows were described as "almost throw pillow sized" and beds as "super soft" offering "no support to those with back problems." These specific complaints contrast with the overall positive sentiment about the hotel's location and some aspects of its service. For recreation, the hotel features a heated indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center, providing opportunities for guests to relax and stay active. Suites, including premium options like the Lake Ontario Suite, offer more space, separate living areas, and in some cases, kitchenettes. The hotel also boasts a variety of accessible rooms with features like accessible showers, wide doors, and grab bars.

From a promotional perspective, the Hyatt Regency Rochester strongly highlights its prime downtown location and its direct connection to the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, making it a natural choice for convention-goers. Its status as a "Hyatt Regency" brand is also a significant draw, often associated with a higher standard of service and amenities. The hotel promotes its on-site dining options, including the unique Center City Terrace + Lounge with its rooftop experience. The complimentary airport shuttle service and pet-friendly policy are also key promotional points. While the hotel has undergone renovations, recent customer reviews suggest that ongoing attention to detail in cleanliness and maintenance is crucial to consistently deliver the expected Hyatt Regency experience. The hotel's online presence, including its official website and booking platforms, showcases its various room types, event spaces, and amenities, often featuring special packages or rates for specific events or longer stays. Despite some detailed negative feedback regarding room conditions and isolated service lapses, the overall sentiment from many guests remains positive, indicating a strong foundation of positive experiences that the hotel can build upon to continue attracting guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in downtown Rochester.

I used to love Hyatt hotels, so I didn't read reviews, but I guess next time I'll have to. We all didn't sleep the best. The hotel was kinda hard to find at night, but the GPS helped a lot. It was located in a great area for our activity the next day. The breakfast buffet (at additional cost, which we knew going into it) had decent food but nothing too special. Overall, I'd skip this hotel if you can My group got in late, and the person at the desk was rude. The 4 stars for service is for Bernard who was extremely friendly and kind this morning, and for the staff in the breakfast buffet restaurant My group was just crashing for the night, and I'm very thankful that was all. The bathroom was disgusting. I'm pretty sure they don't have a light in the shower in hopes of you not realizing that the shower head and vent aren't clean, and neither is the floor. There were things that needed dusted, and the door handle on the outside was not cleaned well either The room has heat and air you can control, but unless the air is actively blowing, the room is pretty warm. The only vent for the air was on a wall in front of 1 of the 2 beds in the room, so it was like a fan being turned on and off all night. The pillows on the bed aren't standard sized, they are almost throw pillow sized. The beds themselves are super soft and offer no support to those with back problems One of us went to sit in the chair at the "desk" this morning and realized the chair had been shoved in there enough that the upholstery on the chair had been pushed back to make it fit under the "desk" better

Shortly before we stayed here, I read a lot negative reviews regarding noise during the night, lack of cleanliness, and poor service. I definitely had concerns. I thought our stay here was good! Granted I went in with low expectations, but our room was very clean, beds were comfortable, and I have no complaints about noise. Occasionally, we heard something outside or the AC unit would boot on loudly, but it didn’t disrupt our sleep. We never heard other guests talking or moving around! We did request to not be connected to an adjoining room and I wonder if that’s the cause of the noise issue for some guests. Kids used the pool and I would say it’s a bit run down, but fine enough for swimming. Biggest disappointment was seeing the hot tub inoperable. Coffee bar opens at 6 am and coffee from there (not free) was very good! The next morning it was not open as the worker didn’t show up, apparently it’s a private shop separate from Hyatt, but a Hyatt worker offered us free coffee from the breakfast section, which you would normally pay for access to. I thought that was accommodating. I debated giving our experience a 5, after seeing how poorly this Hyatt has been rated, but a 4 is probably more accurate. I would stay here again.

If you decided to book this hotel, you will do it for the location and cheap price (travel website discount). Otherwise it isn’t worth it. People smoking joints by the entrance, in the bar, and in the hallways/rooms makes it smell horrible. I didn’t realize it was legal to smoke in public places anymore. I had to navigate this with my wife and son. The person next door had their tv on full sound until 2am. The positive is I learned all about treasury bills and investing in fixed income. The walls are super thin. The housekeeping must be understaffed as they lack towels in the fitness center and a significant amount of trash buildup that looks and smells like it hasn’t been removed for weeks. I have traveled all over the world and this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed. It does not live up to the Hyatt Regency brand name and expectations you would expect. There is a Hilton next door. Probably the better place to stay all else being equal.

This hotel is ghetto. The surfaces in the room were dirty and clearly not cleaned. No extra blankets are available in the room. K cups are provided, but no machine in the room. The restaurant "area" in the lobby has an extremely limited menu, which was mostly unappealing - we arent very picky eaters. (bartender/server was friendly). The wine i ordered wasn't available because "the bottle has been open too long" and she didn't know if there was any more. The tables and floors were also gross. This place is not conveniently walkable to desirable places (bars/restaurants). Crazy for the prices they charge... look elsewhere for sure. Oh! And don't get excited bout the pool. Also very unappealing and in need of serious repairs
