This hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Longwood Gardens and the entire Chadds Ford area. They are going to be renovating and updating the rooms soon but my room was clean and perfectly fine. Front desk staff, especially Tina, were terrific. Breakfast was okay, but as expected. Surprisingly, the fruit was fresh and ripe, not previously frozen. The cappuccino maker was out of order both days, but coffee was available. It was nice to sit outside by the fire pit with a drink each evening. This was my second time staying here and I would definitely stay again when I am in the area.

Apr 20, 2025 · Ruth MarinVery comfortable, quiet and dark room made getting rest easy into late into the morning. Sandy was great and very helpful even though it was the wee hours of the morning when we check in. Tina was wonderful with and even after we checked out, texted what she had found for a restaurant that would be great on the way up to Philly—we regret that we weren’t there long enough to try the Mendenhall restaurant. Highly recommended!
Apr 20, 2025 · Alain BennettParking is in the rear of the building with the only access in the front. Its cold and raining so you have to walk from the back to the front. The Keurig at the front desk says it needs to filter changed. Didn't use it. Was told by the front desk i needed to ask for my room to be serviced daily. I asked if she could just say I wanted it serviced daily. She said yes. They did not service the room. I had to complain to the desk just to get it serviced. The room was nice and has a luxury atmosphere but the staff all seem to be too busy or too good to speak to you. The evening girl did not know how to sale a item from the hotel store without adding it to the room. Said she would not sale to someone who walked in without a room. The highlight was the lady in the breakfast room. she was always friendly and smiling. The lady on the last day was not friendly and not smiling.
Mar 06, 2025 · Gene MeltonRooms are quaint, updated and clean. Location was convenient for wedding but oddly the reception hall is just far enough that in winter still need to drive to it as the driveway is a bit of a terrain to walk. The doors and walls are paper thin. We were literally talking through the wall to a relative staying in room next to us. Can hear every room Conversations in hallway. At 11;00 am on morning of wedding the coffee bar was out of coffee and sweetners. Only had decaf .. Was looking in the cabinet underneath when woman asked what I was doing. I requested coffee and was literally told “oh we must be out!!!” She did go to another room and brought me a cup indicating it was left over from breakfast???!!! Bizarre that a hotel is out of complimentary coffee for a weekend!!! Not even coffee in rooms! Moreover the front desk and apparently double dutying for reception hall manager woman was literally the RUdestt, miserable person, every person at the wedding was discussing how miserable she was. She also appeared not very professional as she liked like she just rolled out of bed, I had yet to encounter her until we (wedding parents/family) had rented a hospitality room for the day of wedding. We utilized the room for wedding party prep and for the hour span between ceremony and reception for family guests not staying at hotel to meet.. literally at the minute the room rental time was up at 5:00 this woman came in yelling for everyone to get out and not authorized to use this room. Explained paying parent of the bridal party and she said “no this is for the bridal party only everyone out now.” That is not what we were told when we rented the room for the day, it was mostly elderly relatives, (that didn’t want to pre-party at their bar/restaurant with younger crowd)and she literally stood there rushing us out to gather up belongings! Beyond embarrassing and completely unprofessional in how she treated guest! She was also rude to us and several other family at check in acting very put out by the wedding party and guests check ins.as rooms were not yet ready for majority of guests on a Friday afternoon. It’s a captive accommodations due to weddings and isolated location, and she seems to know it. However I would not recommend this facility, Comparatively my daughter got married in bucks county a few months prior and the hotel we stayed at bent over backwards and was beyond accommodating to us! The comparative was stark!!!! They actually excelled in hospitality unlike the management at Mendelhall Inn.
