We stayed for several days in March assisting our youngest who just moved to this region. We had stayed once before when we were in Maine for a Summer wedding. This WILL BE our new home away from home when visiting from Ohio. What an extraordinary property in such a perfect setting! We had the usual Maine late winter weather while there, some sunshine, a day of rain, one of fog... and one day, woke up to 5 inches of beautiful snow. But this property is beautiful in all seasons. We booked an ocean view full suite and it was sublime! Off season is a nice time to go because the rates are more favorable than the high season of summer. An easy walk to the beach, short ride to the Portland Lighthouse and a short ride into downtown Portland are all wonderful features of this location. The rooms and suites are exceptional in their comfort and interior design elements and....the gracious welcoming amenities in the bathrooms and kitchens! Lastly, but certainly not least, I want to give a shout out to the wonderful gracious staff. On this trip I had the blessed opportunity to meet and visit with Eva St. Pierre, their director of Guest Services. Inn by the Sea is very lucky to have someone like Eva representing them and interacting with guests! We plan to return in June of this Summer for a few more days. I am absolutely counting down the days until that trip and hoping to enjoy another fabulous stay at Inn by the Sea!

Apr 26, 2025 · Ann MartinezFirst time visitors. My wife developed mobility issues last year and traveling is difficult. Staff discreetly and compassionately handled all issues(especially Remy) So very appreciated. The lobster roll to die for served by a charming and engaging waitress (Eliza). An incredibly pleasant stay.
May 11, 2025 · Stephen FloroffBeautiful place. Very friendly and attentive staff. Room was spacious, has a mini fridge, microwave, counter top kitchenette with a sink. Wife used the spa and said best spa experience she had ever had, she goes fairly often to different spas.
Mar 15, 2025 · D MOur stay at Inn by The Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, was nothing short of spectacular. This review is long overdue, as our stay was in the off season (March), but we happened to have beautiful sunny and warm weather. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dog-Friendly! One of the standout features of this inn is how incredibly dog-friendly it is. Our furry friend was treated like a VIP, with special amenities and plenty of space to roam. It's clear that they go above and beyond to make sure pets feel at home. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a beach suite, and it did not disappoint. The suite was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered stunning views of the ocean. It was the perfect retreat for relaxation and luxury. The food at Inn by The Sea is exceptional. Nov 15, 2024 · NH LFoDThis hotel does not fit my criteria for a “resort”. Overall the facility appears very tired and in need of a refresh. When checking in there were no “bellmen” to assist in unloading ones luggage. There was also no concierge or bellmen to deliver ones luggage to the room. There is no lounge, the bar is minimal with a few simple tables and chairs. The dining room was adequately furnished, and there were several outside dining tables with shade umbrellas. I found the menu to be very limited and the prices expensive. The food quality and portion size was disappointing. The grounds are nicely landscaped with very pretty flowers. There is a wooden boardwalk which leads one down to the beach. The beach is rocky and crowded with seaweed; not your typical beach for sunbathing and swimming but pleasant for sitting and viewing. There is an outdoor pool and an area with a fire pit for making s’mores at night. Our room was fair but definitely in need of an air filter change. My wife and I sneezed constantly and had sinus issues while in the room. The light switch cover plate fell off the wall; and one could lightly smell smoke in the room each night while the fire pit was lit. Sorry, but for $1,000 nightly my wife and I expected a much nicer experience. I would not stay here again if/when the need should ever arise. F
