Stayed here for a Thursday-to-Sunday weekend trip. The hotel looked great—stylish, clean, trendy—but with a few small tweaks, it could go from “nice stay” to “shut up and take my money.” Housekeeping was on a two-day schedule, which I get—it’s 2025 and we’re all about sustainability—but let’s be real: when you book a hotel, you kinda expect to return to fresh towels and a bed that doesn’t look like it lost a wrestling match. Soundproofing? Practically a myth. You’ll hear hallway convos, neighborly flushes, and probably someone’s Spotify playlist from three doors down. It’s like staying in a group chat with strangers. The bathroom design felt like an escape room puzzle. The faucet was at a weird diagonal like it was trying to dodge your hands. And the sliding barn door? Cute in theory, but it didn’t lock, didn’t block sound, and offered about as much privacy as a beaded curtain. Now the bartender… let’s just say he wasn’t exactly exuding “hospitality hero” energy. Kind of had that “I’m just here so I don’t get fined” vibe, with a sprinkle of “I’m too cool for this.” I wasn’t sure if he was allowed to serve drinks or if he was just judging ours. And finally, shoutout to the lobby water station—free hydration is always a win, but they tossed fruit in it like we’re at a spa. Sometimes you just want your water to taste like water, not a sad fruit salad. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for—and I’d probably spend the extra hundred bucks to try the hotel next door.

Apr 21, 2025 · Danny GomesMy experience at Aloft in Portland was top notch. Everyone from the desk personnel to the cleaning people were helpful and knowledgeable. I particularly want to give a shout out to Alex Paige for is impeccable service in planning my trip and, getting me a great room with a view. I will definitely be coming back.
May 14, 2025 · Linda PheiferOne of my favorite hotel experiences ever. The hotel itself is great, cute clean rooms with nice views of the city. Lobby has a bar and games and a handy little market. It’s a great location, I didn’t have to use my car a single time inside the city and just walked it. But the service really sets this place apart. Everyone i came in contact with was so nice but the bartenders were something special. Chris on my first night supplied me with an 8 pg list of recommendations and a gaggle of new friends because he started us all chatting at the bar. The next night Seth went on a whole mission to find half and half to make my silly drink and then gave it to me free anyways for taking “too long”. As a solo traveler i couldn’t recommend this place enough, the staff made it so fun to be here, even alone.
Apr 27, 2025 · Kat GrgantoThis hotel was so hit or miss for us. The location was incredible. We walked to everything. Chris at the bar was awesome! So great at his job and his recommendations. However, the rest of the staff really put a damper on our stay. To note: -ALWAYS on their phones when you enter/leave the building or even approach the desks (valet was the worst). -no pleasant greetings upon arrival/departure from the lobby. Horrible hospitality. -lack of options in the convenience store (ie bar doesn’t open until 5pm but no beer/wine stocked to purchase). -thin walls. Heard the person above us the entire trip. Seems like leadership is lacking and staff has no direction (aside from the bar program).
Apr 10, 2025 · Martin SLocation is better than expected, bar is great - search for Kayla if you’re indulging in liquid courage. Rooms are pretty decent, might have to ask for more towels. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. PARKING IS TOO EXPENSIVE. Park on the street 6p-9a- save 40$/day
