We had an excellent stay recently at the Westin in Portland! Check-in was prompt, with very knowledgeable and courteous front desk staff. Our request for a high floor was granted, and we actually got a room on the top floor with a nice view! The room was very clean, and you can definitely tell Westin is a higher end brand. Furnishings and decor were typical for a Westin, and although the rooms haven't been updated in a while, they look very nice for their age. The shower felt luxurious, with a nice water pressure. Internet speeds were also quite good. Of particular note was how quiet the hotel is at night, which resulted in a peaceful slumber in the trademark Westin "heavenly" bed. Our complimentary breakfast (due to elite status) at the hotel restaurant was quite generous, as well as tasty. When we first arrived there was only one person working, but fortunately it wasn't too crowded so our service was fine. Although our visit was short, it was quite enjoyable and memorable. We would definitely stay here again, and this would make an excellent hotel choice during your next trip to Portland!

The hotel’s environment is one of refined tranquility. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a well-appointed lobby that sets a welcoming tone. The common areas are spacious and designed for both relaxation and social interaction. One notable aspect of the hotel’s environment, frequently highlighted by guests, is its remarkable quietness at night. The services at The Westin Portland Harborview are geared towards an elevated guest experience. Check-in is consistently described as prompt and efficient, handled by knowledgeable and courteous front desk staff who are adept at accommodating guest requests, such as securing high-floor rooms with desirable views. The commitment to guest satisfaction extends to all staff members, who are frequently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. For instance, staff members have gone the extra mile to assist guests with specific requests, such as attempting to find a fan to mitigate street noise, demonstrating a genuine desire to enhance comfort. Housekeeping maintains a high standard, ensuring rooms are consistently clean and well-maintained. A key feature of The Westin Portland Harborview is its commitment to guest well-being, prominently showcased through the Westin “Heavenly Bed.” This signature amenity is designed for ultimate comfort, consistently leading to restful nights, as echoed by numerous guests. For guests with mobility concerns, it's important to note some specific features. The hotel, while generally clean and updated, can present some navigation challenges. Entering from the garage involves an uphill incline, and even traversing the lobby to reach the elevators can be uphill in sections. The dense carpeting, while luxurious, can make self-wheeling a wheelchair more difficult. Roll-in showers, while available, may have drain placement that results in water spreading across the bathroom floor. Some rooms, particularly corner rooms, might have a somewhat unconventional layout, including long, narrow hallways upon entry or near the mini-fridge and coffee maker, which are located in the closet. If the closet door is open, it can restrict movement. These specific details are valuable for ambulatory wheelchair users and demonstrate the hotel's efforts to provide accessibility, while also offering transparent insights into potential considerations.
Regarding promotional information, The Westin Portland Harborview frequently offers packages and deals, especially for guests booking longer stays or during off-peak seasons. Prospective guests are encouraged to check the hotel's official website or major booking platforms for current promotions. The hotel is also known for being pet-friendly, welcoming furry companions, a feature that can be a significant draw for many travelers. Given its desirable location, luxurious amenities, and attentive service, The Westin Portland Harborview makes an excellent choice for a memorable trip to Portland, whether for a quick weekend getaway or an extended stay.

Mar 15, 2025 · Dan BrumbaughHad a 3 night stay here recently, picked this specific hotel based on how close it is to the Portland State Theater - couldn’t be more ideal for that! Everyone was very friendly! I had asked if they had a fan we could borrow to try and block out some of the street noise, although they didn’t, I appreciate that they even spent some time to look. If you’re a light sleeper, that’s one thing to note. You will definitely hear traffic sounds, trucks backing up, cars beeping at all hours. Room was very spacious and clean! Hotel in general was clean and updates! Some of my feedback comes from the fact that I am an ambulatory wheelchair user, so these are things a lot of people wouldn’t notice but I know I look for this info in reviews so I’m going to provide it for others with mobility concerns. The hotel is quite a maze, coming in from the garage is uphill, even navigating the lobby to get to the elevators can be quite uphill. Carpet is dense and hard to wheel yourself on. Roll in shower’s drain placement wasn’t sloped enough so water really got all over the bathroom floor, like truly sopping wet. Room (might just be because it was a corner room) had a bit of a strange layout, a loooong narrow hall when you enter the room and a long narrow hall where the mini fridge is. Mini fridge and coffee maker are located in the closet, which if the closet door is open, you can’t move past it, as shown in photos. Overall, not a bad stay at all, and I would likely stay here again especially if I’m making it a weekend trip to see a show at Portland State Theater!
Apr 22, 2025 · Audrey FriedmanStayed here April 3-5th for a conference. Very clean, great service, comfortable room layouts, excellent fitness center. Conveniently located close to many restaurants, shops, museums, bars, etc.. Bar on the top floor of the hotel is really cool and has great drink options. Coffee shop and restaurant in lobby are a nice, convenient touch. Lots of parking options (valet, garage flat rate per day, street parking nearby). Highly recommend.
Apr 07, 2025 · Olivia OvertonWhile I would love to be able to even review the rooms, the service, and location, unfortunately they have charged me the full rate for a room and will not allow a change of date despite there being an incoming snowstorm and me not being able to physically get to the hotel. Not even seeking a refund, still wanted to visit. So, maybe they won't miss me not booking there ever again. I do certainly miss the $203.37 that we spent to receive absolutely nothing. Hopefully everyone else can learn from my expensive mistake in booking here. The room was booked through hopper. Hopper was incredibly helpful and spent and hour back and forth with Westin to try and get the reservation changed. Edit after Westin response: I was aware of the non refundable status but have never seen a non changeable reservation. So sure I suppose this is my mistake…my expensive mistake. This seems like a very fair and reasonable practice and makes me want to give you my money. Cool! Cheers!
Feb 14, 2025 · Alison RossMy second time staying here and once again I was really pleased! I came for business a few months ago and when my partner wanted a quick birthday getaway I knew exactly where to book! Wonderful stay overall. Yes it’s not the cheapest hotel in Portland but it’s probably the nicest regular hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Entrance and lobby are really modern but also comfortable and welcoming(also the fragrance they use is AMAZING). The location can be a bit sketchy at night but I feel very safe with the security within the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean and service is pleasant and efficient. We planned on visiting the top floor restaurant but ended up enjoying our room more! Ended up getting some awesome takeout from some of the dozens of restaurants within three blocks. Room service for breakfast was not cheap but portions were generous and delicious! The shower had two shower heads and ample soap/shampoo! Beds were comfortable but I’ll probably bring my own pillow next time they were a bit too squishy for me. But let me tell you we stayed in that room until about 10 minutes before checkout just because it was so relaxing. Overall I had a wonderful stay with my partner and I will be staying here again!
