I was delighted when I came across Mabel’s House during my Summer travel research and planning. The place looks absolutely beautiful and relaxing. I immediately called to reserve a room. Unfortunately, when I informed the receptionist that I have a trained service animal traveling with me her response was “we don’t allow pets”. I let her know that she is a medically trained service animal, I need her with me at all times and she is not a pet to which to continued to let me know that no pets are allowed. I have no interest in forcing myself into a situation where we are unwelcome but I was very sad and disturbed at this discrimination which is frankly illegal. I sincerely urge Mabel’s House to consider acting with more inclusivity.

May 05, 2025 · Regan KarlsenMaine - The Way Life Should Be at Mabel’s House This is the second year we have stayed at this property. It's located in a quiet section of town. The rooms are well-maintained, clean and comfortable. A continental breakfast is served every morning. Every staff member is gracious, friendly, and helpful. Bikes and kayaks are available for guests. Parking is convenient. You can't beat the view of the water. An added plus is walking to lunch or dinner next door at Mabel's Lobster. Be sure to make a reservation. Best kept secret. Great for couples, singles, and families.

Jun 26, 2024 · Jasper LottiLovely stay at Mabel’s House, while traveling from Washington DC! This is a great location if you want to be a little distant from the main town square but still walkable to everything. We enjoyed our very simple but tastefully updated room; clean white linens, comfy bed and a recently renovated bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was perfect to start the day, with yogurts, banana bread, fresh fruit and coffee. The property sits on a small lagoon and Adirondack chairs were great for lounging after a day exploring. Best of all (in our opinion) were the beach cruisers available to guests for use. We love to bike and it’s a great way to explore a new town. We took the bikes into town, along the coastal road leading to the Bush compound and beyond, and through the neighborhoods to check out the area. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had a great visit and can’t wait to return to Kennebunkport!
