We stayed here overnight last weekend and I liked it because our room was spacious for the 3 of us. Everything we need such as hair blower, fridge, and hangers in the closet were there. The room and bathroom were clean. They also offered complimentary breakfast and the food are delicious, as well as the coffee. The service was good. I also like the location since it has nearby restaurants and other food establishments.
For local users and travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Jamaica, NY area, the Magna Hotel, situated at 147-16 97th Ave, Jamaica, NY 11435, USA, and reachable via phone at (718) 526-2010 or mobile at +1 718-526-2010, presents itself as a practical and often positively reviewed option. This objective introduction will detail its environment, services, features, and relevant promotional aspects, drawing from available customer reviews to provide a comprehensive and balanced perspective.
The environment of the Magna Hotel is generally described as positive and safe, especially within its immediate surroundings. Located on 97th Ave in Jamaica, Queens, the hotel benefits from its proximity to a vibrant urban area. Guests appreciate the location due to the presence of "nearby restaurants and other food establishments," offering convenient dining options within walking distance. This accessibility to local eateries contributes significantly to the overall convenience of the stay, as guests do not need to travel far for meals. While the exact visual aesthetic of the exterior or lobby is not detailed in the provided reviews, the interior environment, particularly the rooms and bathrooms, is consistently noted as "clean." One review specifically highlights the "spacious" nature of the rooms, indicating a comfortable living space, at least for some room types. Another review, however, describes rooms as "small but nice," suggesting some variability in room size. The general feeling of safety is a significant positive aspect of the hotel's environment, with one guest explicitly stating they "really felt safe." This is a crucial factor for guests staying in any urban location. However, a notable environmental limitation is the absence of a dedicated "parking lot," which could pose a challenge for guests traveling by car, requiring them to seek alternative parking solutions in the urban setting.
In terms of services, the Magna Hotel receives favorable reviews for its customer-oriented approach. The "service was good," and the staff is described as "very help," contributing to an enjoyable stay. This suggests a responsive and accommodating team at the front desk and potentially other service points. A highly appreciated service is the complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel. Guests have found the "food are delicious, as well as the coffee," which adds significant value to the stay, especially for budget-conscious travelers. This contrasts with some other hotels that either do not offer breakfast or provide very limited options. While specific details on daily housekeeping frequency are not provided, the consistent feedback on cleanliness implies that housekeeping services are generally effective. However, one review did point out a need for housekeeping to "check lights no light bulb," indicating occasional lapses in attention to detail in room maintenance. The hotel's willingness to assist guests, as evidenced by staff being "very help," suggests a commitment to addressing guest needs. The positive interaction with staff and the provision of good, complimentary breakfast contribute significantly to the overall positive service perception at Magna Hotel.
The features of the Magna Hotel's rooms and amenities aim to provide essential comforts for guests. Rooms are equipped with common necessities such as a "hair blower, fridge, and hangers in the closet," which are standard but appreciated features for convenience. The cleanliness of both the room and bathroom is a consistent positive highlight. Bathrooms, even in "small" rooms, are described as "beautiful really," suggesting an emphasis on modern or well-maintained fixtures and aesthetics in this area. While the specific amenities in the bathroom are not detailed beyond "clean," the positive description indicates a functional and pleasant space. The presence of a refrigerator is particularly useful for storing beverages or snacks. However, some notable absences in terms of features are highlighted: "no plastic cups," "no coffee pot" (despite complimentary coffee at breakfast), and "no bucket for ice." The most significant missing feature noted by guests is the absence of an "ice machine" on the premises, which can be an inconvenience for many travelers. The lack of adequate "hangers in closet" in some rooms also points to a need for better provisioning. Despite these missing items, the overall impression of the room features is that they are sufficient for a comfortable stay, particularly given the positive feedback on cleanliness and the presence of larger items like a fridge. The explicit mention of "glass mirrors" in some rooms further suggests attention to aesthetic details, even if minor.
From a promotional standpoint, the Magna Hotel can effectively target the "Hotels Near Of Me" market by highlighting its value proposition. Its key strengths, as identified by guests, are the "great price" coupled with "spacious" and "clean" rooms, which are fundamental desires for many travelers. The complimentary and "delicious" breakfast is a significant draw, offering tangible value. The hotel's convenient location with "nearby restaurants and other food establishments" is another strong selling point, particularly for those who prefer to dine out and experience local cuisine. The consistent praise for the "friendly" and "very help" staff can be leveraged to emphasize a positive and welcoming guest experience. The feeling of being "safe" at the hotel is a crucial and powerful message for any urban accommodation. While the lack of a dedicated parking lot and ice machine are drawbacks, the hotel can still appeal to guests who prioritize cleanliness, good service, and a convenient location over these specific amenities. Promotional efforts would likely focus on its appeal to budget-conscious travelers, those seeking a comfortable base for exploring Jamaica or needing proximity to JFK Airport (though not directly at the airport, it's accessible). The hotel's apparent success in providing a good experience for its price point ("Days in Marriott need to check their self" implies it offers better value than some bigger brands) could be a subtle but effective part of its promotional narrative, appealing to guests looking for a hidden gem in the urban landscape.

Jun 22, 2022 · Martinez JonesStayed 5 nights at the hotel. Booked 2 rooms. Everything was ok for the price paid. There’s no room service or food; just a place to stay. Rooms/bathroom were clean and staff occasionally came to offer a fresh towel. We had small refrigerators in the rooms. 2 drawbacks: - We could hear everything that was happening in the hall such as conversations and machines. - We stayed in no smoking rooms but it still smelled of weed. One way we got around this was keeping the bathroom ventilation fan on. Bottom line is for the price you pay it’s a great hotel. You won’t be bothered by staff.
Nov 05, 2021 · Su 10The area was okay, but at night some people could get a little violent. But when we got to our room there was a blood looking stain on the wall. The bathroom had a weird smell, like dried up pee trying to be covered up bu cheap air freshener. Our bed was made poorly, it still looked wrinkled and we had one blanket. In the bathroom there were 2 towels but one wash cloth and no face towels. In the hotels defense I should've know how much a decent hotel goes for in NY, but now I know how much a Nad one costs
Oct 04, 2022 · lesley nunesI wish there was a 2 1/2 star choice. Walking from Jamaica Station to the hotel was not a pleasant experience. It is in a very rough area. Even the desk clerk was behind bulletproof glass. If you need to stay a night close to JFK, this place is an inexpensive choice (walking to and from the Air Train in daylight). But, on to the room. Small room, but very bright and clean. You can tell the place isn't that old. Google street view even shows the old building before it was torn down. But wait! No towels in the bathroom. It took 2 calls an hour apart to finally get towels delivered to the room. I put the towels on the towel rack and the rack came off the wall. Someone didn't install it correctly. The refrigerator was placed next to the bed so close that the door would only open a few inches. Who designed this room? We'll, my bright idea was to move the bed over so we could get our drinks and food in. It worked. But, the headboard didn't move with the bed because it was attached to the wall. Who designed this place? Anyway if you have no choice but to spend the night by the Jamaica Station and you want to save a few bucks (Holiday Inn is a little farther down the block at more than double the price), this would be an "OK" choice. The front desk people were nice and polite and apologized for the towel rack when we checked out.
