I came across this hotel in the middle of a horrific experience that I had at a facility just across the road. My teenage son and I needed to find a place for the night, as the hotel (motel?) we had originally booked turned out to be your run-of-the-mill crack motel. We had stopped at the Boomerang Bar and Grill attached to this hotel because we were starving and needed to re-evaluated our situation. Our waitress, Colleen, was so kind when I unloaded my problem onto her. She told me that she was pretty sure that there was a room or two available that night and assured me that this hotel was worlds cleaner than where we were originally supposed to stay. She grabbed her manager, and he came over to talk to us. He let me know that there just happened to be a cancellation about an hour before and that we were welcome to check the room out first if we would like to reserve it. He put the room on hold while my son and I ate our dinner. When we were done, the manager took us down to the room so that we could check it out, and we booked it right on the spot. The room was clean, the beds were sufficient, and there were no bugs. Not fancy, but definitely a huge upgrade from our previous lodgings. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have walked into that restaurant. The kindness that Colleen and her manager showed us that evening did not go unnoticed.

Magnuson Grand Harrisburg Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the New Cumberland/Harrisburg area of Pennsylvania, the Magnuson Grand Harrisburg presents itself as a budget-conscious option. Located at 110 Limekiln Rd UNIT 2, New Cumberland, PA 17070, USA, this hotel aims to provide essential lodging services. You can reach them directly at (717) 920-3627 or via mobile at +1 717-920-3627 for inquiries and reservations.

The environment of Magnuson Grand Harrisburg is a key aspect to consider. Its location on Limekiln Road suggests easy access for travelers navigating through the area, likely being close to major roadways for convenient transit to Harrisburg and surrounding regions. The hotel is notably attached to the "Boomerang Bar and Grill," providing an on-site dining and social option for guests, which can be a significant convenience, especially after a long day of travel. While one review described the exterior upon arrival as looking "like the homeless shelters in the city," highlighting a potentially unappealing first impression, another found the interior to be "worlds cleaner" than other low-end motels. This discrepancy suggests that while the exterior or initial perception might be dated or utilitarian, the interior experience can vary. The hotel is situated in an area where local amenities might be available, though the immediate surroundings are not extensively detailed beyond the attached restaurant. As a Magnuson Grand, the brand typically offers a standard, no-frills accommodation experience focused on affordability.

In terms of services and features, the Magnuson Grand Harrisburg aims to provide the basic necessities for a comfortable stay. A significant feature is the presence of the Boomerang Bar and Grill directly attached to the hotel. This on-site restaurant and bar offers a convenient option for guests to dine without leaving the premises, which is a valuable amenity, especially for those arriving late or preferring to stay on-site. The service from the restaurant staff, as highlighted in one glowing review, can be exceptional, with staff members like Colleen and her manager going "above and beyond" to assist guests. This level of personalized and compassionate service, even in a crisis situation, demonstrates a strong commitment to guest welfare from specific individuals. The availability of clean rooms is also a critical service, with one guest finding their room to be "clean" and "sufficient." The hotel aims to provide comfortable beds, though feedback on this varies significantly, with one guest finding them "sufficient" while another described the mattress as "very rough and uncomfortable" with "0 support or comfort."

However, an objective introduction must also present the varied experiences of guests. While one review praises the room for being "clean," "cozy," and "surprisingly well-equipped for the price," and a "huge upgrade" from previous lodgings, another paints a much less favorable picture. This negative review mentions a "strong odor (I'm assuming smoke)" in the room, glitter on the blanket, burn holes in a spare blanket, and uncomfortable pillows and mattresses. These are significant issues related to cleanliness, maintenance, and comfort, which are fundamental to a satisfactory hotel stay. The lack of a fitted sheet and the presence of only two top sheets also point to potential inconsistencies in basic room setup and quality control. The reported unhelpfulness of the front desk when complaints were raised in the negative review also contrasts sharply with the exemplary service described in the positive review. This suggests a potential variability in staff performance or a need for more consistent training and oversight to ensure all guests receive a helpful and accommodating response to their concerns. Such stark differences in experiences highlight that while the hotel can provide a positive stay for some, others may encounter significant drawbacks.

Regarding promotional information, while no specific promotions are detailed in the provided text, Magnuson Hotels, being an independent hotel group with a focus on value, often offers competitive pricing. Guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" who are budget-conscious may find their rates appealing. Magnuson Hotels frequently runs various direct booking promotions, discounts for extended stays, or seasonal deals. It is always advisable for prospective guests to check the official Magnuson Hotels website or contact the Magnuson Grand Harrisburg directly at (717) 920-3627 for the most up-to-date promotional offers, special packages, or any loyalty program benefits they might offer (though Magnuson typically has a simpler loyalty structure than larger chains). Value-added services such as free Wi-Fi and parking are commonly offered by Magnuson properties to enhance the guest experience without additional cost, though specific confirmation for this location is recommended. Given the mixed reviews, promotional offers could also be a way for the hotel to attract guests and encourage them to experience its positive aspects, such as the attached restaurant and the potential for excellent individual staff service.

In conclusion, the Magnuson Grand Harrisburg offers a budget-friendly option for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the New Cumberland/Harrisburg area. Its key features include its convenient location near major routes, the presence of an on-site bar and grill, and the potential for truly outstanding service from dedicated individual staff members, as evidenced by a highly positive guest experience. However, prospective guests should be aware of the possibility of inconsistencies in room quality, cleanliness, and comfort, as highlighted by a negative review. While not a luxury establishment, for travelers prioritizing affordability and the convenience of an attached restaurant, and who are prepared for a potentially varied room experience, the Magnuson Grand Harrisburg could serve as a practical overnight stop or short-term lodging option.

My boyfriend booked this place and normally his radar is good with hotels/motels. However, pulling up to the place I was immediately uncomfortable. Get to the door and it looks like the homeless shelters in the city. Said fine brushed it off. We get to the room and it has a strong odor (I'm assuming smoke). Again brushed it off. Go to lay down and the blanket has glitter on it. Went to check the spare blanket and it had burn holes. The pillows are uncomfortable to say the least. 0 support or comfort. The mattress feels like a homeless shelter mattress very rough and uncomfortable. Sheets are rough also. I have issues with certain fabric on my skin. The room is definitely not even close to motel status. Went and complained, got another room. It still smells. No fitted sheet just 2 top sheets. Do not waste time or money on this place. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Its a Resturant that happens to be a Hotel. Despite the room not being what they described online I thought it was ok. Not great and a tad gross at times but nothing that would ruin the stay. The issue came from the lack of service. In the 3 days there the maids never came to clean the room. We could not get any of the outside doors open even with the key card. Only door we could get into the building was the broken one that wouldnt shut properly. And we had difficulties getting a hold of anyone at the front desk. You can definitely feel the priorities are the resturant aspect and the Hotel is an after thought.

For a hotel attached to a bar & grill & event space, this was a very nice and pleasant place to stay. The rooms were nothing fancy, but who cares, they were very clean, as quiet as one could reasonably expect, and you could tell they kept up with the air filters for the HVAC. Some of the outlets were a little loose and the stuff we plugged into them kept popping out, and the mattresses feel like they're getting into the back half of their useful lifespan, but for the way the rooms were priced, those were smaller things that are further down the list of stuff that actually matters. We had a very pleasant stay, and would definitely stay here again.

Room was spotless. No bugs. No gross stuff. No musty smells like I've dealt with elsewhere. Bed was SUPER comfy and clean. Another thing I liked is that there's a "continuous fan" option on the heat/air unit, which did a great job of drowning out the noise of other guests. This building contains a restaurant and a comedy club, but I was able to sleep just fine. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.
