I have been staying here for about a month and the Motel is decent for a cheap motel. My room was clean for the most part with the exception being the bathroom. The tub and the shower curtain were quite dirty, not to mention it feels like you're going to fall through the floor of the tub. Also, the toilets are the old kind that use 4 gallons of water to flush and you have to hold the handle for 30 seconds while the water in the toilet picks up enough speed spinning around the bowel to go down the hole. It's the only Motel I have seen that doesn't have a lid for their crappers either. Lastly, it's next to some woods so theirs plenty of bugs. Not the worst place i have stayed, but they could easily upgrade the place for minimal money.
For local users exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Port Murray, New Jersey area and specifically seeking a highly economical lodging option, Mansfield Motel, situated at 689 NJ-57, presents itself as a budget-conscious choice. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the motel, detailing its typical environment, services, and features, alongside any implied promotional information, based on publicly available information and customer reviews. It's important to approach this objectively, acknowledging both the intended purpose and guest experiences.
Mansfield Motel is located directly on New Jersey Route 57, a state highway, which inherently places it in a roadside environment. This type of location typically offers convenient access for travelers driving through the area, making it easy to reach from the main road. The immediate surroundings would likely include other commercial establishments common along a highway, such as gas stations or small businesses.
A notable aspect of the motel's environment, as highlighted in a customer review, is its proximity to "some woods." This suggests that while it's on a highway, there's a natural element nearby, which can sometimes lead to the presence of insects or other wildlife. This rural or semi-rural adjacency could offer a quieter backdrop than a densely urban setting, but it also necessitates an awareness of outdoor elements. The overall ambiance is characteristic of an older, no-frills motel, primarily serving as a stopover for travelers rather than a destination in itself. It is not presented as a resort or a luxury establishment, but rather as a functional place to rest.
As a "cheap motel," Mansfield Motel typically operates on a model of providing fundamental lodging services without extensive frills or luxury amenities. The core service offered is a room for the night, with the expectation of basic cleanliness and functionality. Based on guest feedback, the service philosophy appears to be minimal, focusing on providing a bed and bathroom.
One crucial aspect of service highlighted in reviews pertains to staff interaction and guest experience. A particularly concerning review described "inappropriate staff elderly couple who were extremely rude," alleging yelling, unauthorized room entry, and an attempt at physical removal. This feedback strongly suggests that direct guest services, particularly from management or front desk personnel, have been a source of significant distress for some visitors. Such accounts imply a lack of professional customer service and conflict resolution, potentially impacting the overall safety and comfort of guests. The fact that police intervention was required indicates a severe breakdown in guest-staff relations.
In terms of tangible services, there is no indication of amenities beyond the basic room setup. Guests should not expect services such as daily housekeeping, concierges, bellhops, or on-site dining, which are common in higher-tiered hotels. The emphasis is on a self-sufficient stay, where guests manage most of their needs independently.
The features of Mansfield Motel, as described by guests, align with its classification as an economical, no-frills establishment. The primary features are the individual motel rooms, each designed to provide basic overnight accommodation.
Common features of the rooms, as detailed by customer reviews, include:
The overall impression conveyed by these features is that while the motel offers a basic place to stay, many aspects of its physical condition and maintenance appear to be outdated or neglected. The suggestion that "they could easily upgrade the place for minimal money" indicates that the current state of features falls short of even basic modern expectations for comfort and hygiene, despite its low price point.
For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" with an absolute priority on the lowest possible price, Mansfield Motel might appear as an option. Its primary "promotional" appeal, albeit implicit, is its affordability. As a "cheap motel," it caters to travelers who are either on a very tight budget or require a temporary, no-frills stopover.
However, based on the provided customer reviews, any promotional messaging would need to be considered carefully in light of the significant negative feedback. While one guest considered it "decent for a cheap motel" and "not the worst place i have stayed," this assessment is tempered by extensive complaints about cleanliness, bathroom conditions, and staff behavior. The strong recommendation "would not return to this particular hotel/resort" from one guest, and another stating "not worth a penny of money" and wishing for a "0" rating, severely undermines any positive promotional aspects.
Therefore, while the motel's price point might initially attract some, potential guests should be fully aware that choosing Mansfield Motel likely means prioritizing extreme affordability over comfort, cleanliness, and positive guest relations. For those who prioritize a comfortable and clean stay with professional service, the available information suggests that this motel may not meet expectations, even at a low cost. There are no indications of active promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs, as is typical for independent, budget-focused motels of this nature. The decision to stay here would largely be driven by financial necessity rather than a desire for a pleasant lodging experience.

Aug 12, 2024 · Ryan HnaskoI was harassed shorty after arriving to the motel by the inappropriate staff elderly couple who were extremely rude. They yelled at me and my children and inappropriately entered my room without permission. The elderly lady attempted to physically remove my daughter and I began to scream at her to get out. I ended up calling the cops because of the hostile behavior and confusion about the reservation that was already made. The motel reeks of cigarettes and is filthy. The sheets have cigarettes burnt marks and is visible dirty. If I could rate this place a 0 I would. Not worth a penny of money.
Aug 02, 2023 · elisha vargasPeople who run the place are very nosy, never leave you alone, have horrible attitudes towards everyone, harass you very often, and will follow u around and stare at you. Its very uncomfortable and not a homey feeling there at all.. The prices are way too high for the quality. Some rooms have refrigerators others don't, some have microwaves while others don't and some have very nice tvs while others have terrible old televisions. The wifi gets shut on and off all the time the windows are tapped up and dirty the bathroom showers are often very dirty and discolored. There are dozens and dozens of cigarette burns in mattresses. In general this is just not the place to go if u are planning on staying for more than a couple hours.
Jul 14, 2021 · Cassandra QThis place was a waste to go to. There were no cars there but we were told there were no vacancies at 10:00 am. Office people barely spoke English and the decrepit old lady at the front desk was nasty. Wouldn't have stayed anyway
Jul 26, 2024 · Darlene McMahonNosey, Rude staff. They shut off the power and Wi-Fi constantly. Appliances tend to not work, it smells, and they are charging too much for garbage.
