This place was a joke. If someone told me there was a movie being filmed on location, that would have been believable and even made sense! Ok. 3 story hotel... no elevator. No ADA accommodations at all. No hangers for the closet, no tissue to blow your nose on in the rooms. There is no additional furniture to sit on, except except for the bed. There are no extra rolls of toilet paper. No phone in the rooms, in case you need assistance from the lobby. There is a television but no cable, so it's a non-working television. We did inquire with the lobby about some of the things that were missing, but that did no good at all. They advertise a lot that they don't actually offer. It looks a lot like a hotel that people live in on a long-term basis, not a place that is open to the general public for temporary housing. The outside decor consists of old bed mattresses and old broken furniture laying around behind the bldg, but the stuff is visible. Poor night lighting. I did see an elevator, but along with being non-working, it was blocked! People are just hanging outside on the walkways to the rooms. It's just a super creepy environment. 馃槼 The last night we were there, we came back to a completely dark room with no power. One of the " residents" that was hanging outside shared with us that the power had been out for several hours. So, I am assuming there are no backup generators. It did not feel safe at all, and I was very uncomfortable with our entire 2 day stay. What can I say that's good? The bed in our room appeared to be new and was comfortable to sleep in. Also, the mirrors were plentiful and nice. But the room is dimly lit, and there is no carpet anywhere, which is one of the things they advertise. And last but not least... they had baby roaches. This place gives "budget hotel" a very bad name. I was in town for a family event, so I was not in the room very much, but if you wanted to hang out in your hotel room, you most likely would not have been comfortable. Never again, and I do mean NEVER!
For users searching "Hotels Near Me" in the Media, PA area, the McIntosh Inn is a lodging option located at 4 S New Middletown Rd, Media, PA 19063, USA. The hotel can be reached via phone at (610) 565-5800 or mobile at +1 610-565-5800. As a hotel listed under the "Hotels Near Me" category, it aims to provide temporary accommodation for individuals seeking a place to stay in the vicinity.
When considering the McIntosh Inn, it's important to set expectations based on readily available public information and customer feedback. An objective introduction requires presenting a balanced view, drawing from various aspects of the hotel's reported characteristics.
Regarding the environment, the McIntosh Inn is described as a three-story building. Based on customer reviews, the exterior environment has been a point of concern. Accounts mention the presence of old bed mattresses and broken furniture visible behind the building, contributing to an overall perception of disarray. Night lighting around the property is also noted as being poor, which could impact the sense of security after dark. Furthermore, some guests have observed individuals "hanging outside on the walkways to the rooms," which, for some, contributes to a "creepy environment." This suggests that the general atmosphere of the property, particularly outside the individual rooms, may not align with typical hotel expectations of a well-maintained and private space. The hotel's appearance has also led some guests to speculate that it might function more as a long-term residence for some individuals rather than solely as a short-term lodging option for the general public.
In terms of services and amenities, customer feedback indicates several significant areas where the McIntosh Inn may fall short of standard hotel offerings. One prominent concern is the apparent lack of an elevator, despite being a three-story building. This absence poses a considerable challenge for guests with mobility issues and directly implies a lack of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accommodations, which is a critical aspect of accessibility for many travelers. In-room amenities are also frequently cited as being minimal or absent. Guests have reported no hangers for closets, no tissues, and no additional furniture beyond the bed, limiting comfort and functionality within the room. The absence of a phone in the rooms is another notable point, meaning guests cannot directly contact the lobby for assistance or inquiries from their rooms. While televisions are present, reviews indicate a lack of cable service, rendering them non-working for their intended purpose of entertainment. Essential provisions like extra rolls of toilet paper are also reported to be missing. Despite advertising certain features, guests have found these services or amenities to be unavailable or not as advertised, leading to dissatisfaction.
A critical issue highlighted by a customer review pertains to power outages. One guest experienced a complete loss of power in their room during their stay, with an apparent lack of backup generators, leaving rooms dark for several hours. This directly impacts the safety and comfort of guests and is a significant operational concern for any lodging establishment.
Regarding features, the hotel's rooms are described as being "ok" but "a bit small," with beds not always matching advertised sizes. While one positive point noted is that the beds appeared new and comfortable for sleeping, and mirrors were plentiful and "nice," other aspects of the room environment are less favorable. Rooms are reported to be dimly lit, and contrary to advertising, there is no carpet anywhere. A very serious concern reported by a customer is the presence of "baby roaches," which points to significant hygiene and pest control issues. This directly impacts the cleanliness and overall comfort of the stay. The hotel's location is described by some as "cool, quiet, and relaxing," suggesting that its immediate surroundings offer a degree of tranquility despite the internal and external issues of the property itself.
From a promotional perspective, it's evident that the McIntosh Inn advertises services and features that, according to customer experiences, are not consistently delivered. This discrepancy between advertisement and reality is a significant point of contention for guests. For users searching "Hotels Near Me" specifically for a budget-friendly option, the McIntosh Inn might appear attractive based on price. However, the comprehensive feedback suggests that the cost savings might come at the expense of basic comfort, safety, and hygiene standards that many travelers expect, even from a budget establishment. The term "budget hotel" itself is given "a very bad name" by one reviewer, indicating a strong negative perception of value for money. Given the recurring themes of missing amenities, poor maintenance, and cleanliness issues, any promotional messaging for the McIntosh Inn should be carefully considered in light of these operational realities. Potential guests should be aware that while the location might offer some peace, the internal and external environment of the hotel itself presents notable challenges.
In summary, the McIntosh Inn, positioned for "Hotels Near Me" searches in Media, PA, presents itself as an option for local accommodation. However, an objective review of available information suggests significant drawbacks concerning its environment, the availability and quality of services, and overall features. While some individual aspects, such as bed comfort, have received positive mentions, these are often overshadowed by widespread concerns about lack of basic amenities, maintenance issues, cleanliness, accessibility (no elevator/ADA), and safety concerns like power outages and general atmosphere. Prospective guests are advised to weigh these detailed considerations carefully when evaluating the McIntosh Inn as a potential lodging choice in the Media, PA area.

May 21, 2025 路 Sharon MoultrieRooms are ok, a bit small, beds weren't the advertised sizes. Service was... Let's just say the trash outside was seriously piled up. Location was cool, quiet, and relaxing
Mar 23, 2025 路 Mrs BurrowsThis place is disgusting. Loud crazy people screaming, dude roaming around picking up cigarette butts, room is disgusting I don't even want to sleep here. There is something that looks like blood splattered on the walls. Shower had black mold, the list goes on. I already booked it through a non-refundable site so I guess I'm sleeping here which I really don't want to do but I also have been driving all day and I don't want to waste $90.

May 03, 2025 路 DanThis place wasn鈥檛 that bad it was inexpensive the receptionist was nice the room was ok wasn鈥檛 dirty, didn鈥檛 see any bugs I was little thrown off by it being a ice machine but no bucket to put the ice in or cups to drink out of! I would have gave it another star if I wasn鈥檛 woken up by screaming kids running back in forth at 7am while me and my kids were sleeping! I went to the door to see what was going on and to my surprise dad was just standing there letting them do it just no regard for others trying to rest also I would not recommend this place to anyone that doesn鈥檛 have a car!! It鈥檚 nothing but highway no sidewalks an it was a hassle trying to get to the bus stop with two young children I ended up having to get a ride
