This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When I was checking in, there was an older gentleman in front of me asking for a room and they kept telling him they were fully booked. He took out some cash out of his pocket and said I only need the room for a couple hours. He turned to me while I was waiting to check in as I had a reservation due to some flight cancellations and said they’re fully booked here. I said to him I’ve got a room reserved. Oh, OK. They ended up giving him a room anyways after he paid him cash. And then when I checked into my room, there is no blankets or pillows or towels in the room. These two gentlemen came up, made my bed and said they would get me some brand new pillows. I looked at one of them and said do they really rent this hotel by the hour and they laughed and said Yes. The next morning when I was checking out at 5 AM another couple was checking in who had a reservation and they said they were fully booked and didn’t have a reservation. The lady was clearly in distress and upset. I mentioned to him they gave her room out the night before when I was checking into a guy that didn’t have a reservation after telling him the hotel is booked and they paid him cash. I would not recommend for anybody to ever stay in this place.
For individuals searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield/Phil.Intl Airport, situated at 650 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA 19064, USA, presents itself as a straightforward and budget-conscious accommodation choice. As a part of the widely recognized Wyndham brand, it aims to provide essential comforts and services for travelers. However, prospective guests should be aware that recent customer feedback indicates a varying experience, suggesting that while it offers convenience and affordability, there may be areas where expectations need to be managed.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield/Phil.Intl Airport benefits significantly from its strategic location on Baltimore Pike, a major thoroughfare in Springfield, Pennsylvania. This places it in a bustling shopping district, surrounded by various retail establishments, restaurants, and other businesses. Guests will find numerous shops and stores conveniently close by, making it easy to access essentials and dining options. Its proximity to major roadways, including Interstate I-95, I-476, and I-76, offers excellent connectivity for those traveling by car. The hotel is approximately 1.4 km from Springfield city center.
One of its key advantages, as implied by its name, is its relative closeness to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), approximately 8 to 15 miles away depending on the exact route and traffic. This makes it a feasible option for airport layovers, early morning flights, or late-night arrivals. The hotel offers an airport shuttle service, though it may be available at a surcharge. The hotel is also within a reasonable driving distance of downtown Philadelphia (about 15 miles or 16.4 km to Rittenhouse Square), making it a less expensive alternative for visiting the city's attractions, universities (such as Swarthmore College, 4-minute drive, and Widener University, 10-minute drive), and major sports venues like Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and the Wells Fargo Center (formerly Wachovia Center).
The hotel itself is a multi-story building, characteristic of a motel design, with exterior corridors. While it aims to offer a functional environment, some guest feedback suggests that the property, in certain areas, could benefit from updates and maintenance. The layout implies that some rooms, particularly on upper floors, are only accessible by stairs, which can be an inconvenience for guests with young children, heavy luggage, or mobility issues. Free self-parking is available on-site for guests, which is a definite plus for those driving. There are also designated smoking areas on the property for those who require them.
Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield/Phil.Intl Airport offers a range of standard amenities typically found in a budget-friendly hotel. These include:
It's important to address inconsistencies highlighted in guest reviews. While the hotel generally aims to provide basic amenities, one severe review mentions a lack of blankets, pillows, and towels upon check-in, and no room cleaning service for a two-week stay, suggesting a significant lapse in housekeeping. Another review noted a broken ice machine on the second floor (requiring guests to go to the first floor) and a broken window shade, impacting privacy. These indicate that guests may experience variations in room condition and service quality. According to some booking sites, the cleanliness rating is around 3.1 out of 5, and rooms around 2.8 out of 5, based on numerous reviews, suggesting that general perception of cleanliness and room quality is not consistently high.
The primary feature of Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield/Phil.Intl Airport is its positioning as an economical hotel within a well-known brand, providing essential services at a lower price point. Its proximity to the airport and major highways, coupled with ample free parking, makes it a convenient stopover location. The on-site restaurant and fitness center are amenities that add value, particularly for a hotel in this price category.
However, the most striking "features" derived from recent customer experiences relate to service and maintenance issues. The alarming review regarding check-in procedures, specifically the alleged practice of renting rooms by the hour and prioritizing cash payments over confirmed reservations, raises serious concerns about operational integrity and guest trust. While this is one account, its detailed nature is noteworthy and points to potential challenges in the hotel's management and adherence to standard booking practices. Such experiences would significantly detract from any positive aspects of the stay, impacting the overall guest perception of cleanliness, security, and reliability. The recurring mention of outdated rooms and low water pressure also suggests that while basic amenities are present, the quality and upkeep may not always meet standard expectations. The "exterior corridors" design, while common for motels, means less climate control and noise isolation in those areas, and the reliance on stairs for upper floors makes it less accessible for some guests.
Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield/Phil.Intl Airport would typically promote itself to travelers looking for a practical and affordable stay. Its target audience includes:
Promotional messages would likely highlight:
Given the significant concerns raised by recent customer reviews (e.g., issues with room availability, cleanliness, and the alleged hourly rental practice), any current promotional claims by the hotel should be viewed by prospective guests with a critical eye. It is advisable for travelers to directly contact the hotel at (610) 816-0781 or +1 610-816-0781 to confirm specific services, room conditions, and to verify their reservation details, especially if they are arriving late or have particular needs. While it aims to offer a functional stay, the overall experience appears to be highly variable, and guests should manage their expectations accordingly, prioritizing its utilitarian aspects like location and basic amenities over luxury or consistent high-quality service.

May 18, 2025 · Darcy BergerThe service was fast and efficient. Barely any first floor rooms were available and you could only get the the second floor from stairs so it's not convenient with children especially toddlers. The rooms have no microwave and microwave mini fridge so there is barely any room for food. Microwave available in common area for both floors. The second floor ice machine is broken so you have to go to the first floor to get ice if you want any. The shade in my room was broken which provided barely any privacy as someone could look right into my room. Conveniently located as it is on Baltimore Pike near most shops and stores.
May 19, 2025 · Shayneesa WilsonThe room reeked of smoke, I felt like George Floyd, I couldn’t breathe. If I get lung cancer, I have no doubt this room contributed. I wish the staff would ask if I wanted a smoke free room or if I was a smoker. The activity of the parking lot also gave room for thought, very noisy for a Sunday, was constantly checking my car to make sure it is still there. On the plus side, the second hand smoke made sure all the bed bugs, and roaches were dead.
May 19, 2025 · Diego MorenoWell let me see where I begin here, I was checking in got the room go to the room and there where cigarette buds and ashes everywhere then on top of it as you can see in the pictures there was someone’s used dirty wash cloth in the shower as you can see in the photos on top of the ashes there too. I went to complain the manager was extremely rude saying it was not his problem I finally moved rooms then I asked if there was a bore up he refused to tell me who it was then continued to be condescending towards me not taking it seriously.i spent 118 dollars here I will never be staying here again.then on top of it i have a service dog and they had a problem with that telling me dogs are not allowed politely told them I am disabled and it’s a service dog so there’s discrimination here too. So please everyone do not stay here very rude and poor service.
May 06, 2025 · Lucas WI can’t believe how disgusting the room was. I had so many roommates (roaches) and there were multiple little things that became very annoying very fast. The tv didn’t have a remote in the room, but the up front staff was so cold and unsociable that I figured I would entertain myself another way. The shower head had the LOUD horrible squealing noise the entire shower so I was not able to relax and enjoy it. The heater didn't really work so I slept with it on for about an hour hoping for it to warm up the room but I woke up unable to breathe and coughing around 1am and as of now (3 days later) I am still experiencing a terrible cough and may have to see a doctor soon. I was perfectly fine both outside and inside the room… until the heater turned on. This experience was terrible and I will never stay here or recommend it to anyone ever. Please stay away.
