I used to love this hotel we stay here on the weekly with our children because of the large suites but since then that's with completely done especially with customer service. Because we let them know that their items were not working like the stove the microwave the refrigerator not cooling the lights flickering they told us that now we're no longer allowed to book or stay with them and could not give us a straight reason why.. even though there were no complaints the staffing service gave us nothing but root treatment for anything we asked them to do that was their job like even making our room cards

Mountain Vista Inn & Suites Introduce

Hello, fellow Tennesseans! If you’re planning a trip to the lively and ever-popular Pigeon Forge, choosing the right accommodation is essential for a memorable visit. Today, we're focusing on Mountain Vista Inn & Suites, a hotel located right on the bustling Parkway, often chosen by travelers for its spacious suites and central location. This article is designed to provide you, our local community, with a clear and factual overview of this hotel, helping you decide if it aligns with your expectations for a Pigeon Forge getaway.

Mountain Vista Inn & Suites aims to offer a convenient and comfortable stay, particularly appealing to families and those seeking more space than a standard hotel room. While experiences can vary, as with any lodging, understanding its features, location, and typical offerings is key. Let’s dive into what you can expect from Mountain Vista Inn & Suites as you plan your next Smoky Mountain adventure.

Location and Accessibility

Mountain Vista Inn & Suites is strategically located at 2647 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863, USA. This address places it directly on the main Pigeon Forge Parkway, a significant advantage for North Carolina residents looking for easy access to the town's numerous attractions. Being on the Parkway means less time navigating side streets and more time enjoying your vacation.

The hotel's location offers excellent walkability to some of Pigeon Forge's most popular destinations. Guests can easily walk to The Island in Pigeon Forge, a major entertainment hub featuring shops, restaurants, and the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. Other nearby attractions within walking distance include The Comedy Barn Theater, Alcatraz East Crime Museum, Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show, and Christmas Place. This eliminates the need for driving and parking, which can be a significant benefit during peak tourist seasons. For destinations a bit further out, like Dollywood or the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the hotel's Parkway location provides straightforward driving access. Its central position makes it an ideal base for exploring all that Pigeon Forge has to offer, making it a highly convenient choice for Tennessee visitors.

Services Offered

Mountain Vista Inn & Suites, like many hotels in Pigeon Forge, aims to provide a range of services to enhance guest comfort, particularly for those staying in suites. While general services typical for such a property can be outlined, it's important to note that specific experiences with these services may vary, as indicated by some customer reviews.

  • Large Suites and Room Types: The hotel offers a variety of spacious accommodations, including large suites (some with 2 or 3 bedrooms) that are particularly attractive to families or larger groups. These suites often come with separate seating areas, and some may include kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves. Deluxe King Suites with Jacuzzi tubs are also available.
  • Indoor Pool: There is an indoor heated pool available for guest use year-round, offering a recreational option regardless of weather conditions.
  • Free Wi-Fi: Complimentary wireless internet access is provided throughout the property. However, one review specifically mentioned issues with internet quality ("Internet really sucks").
  • Complimentary Continental Breakfast: A free continental breakfast service is offered daily.
  • In-Room Amenities: Standard in-room features typically include a refrigerator, microwave, coffee/tea maker, flat-screen TV with cable channels, and iron/ironing board.
  • Free Self-Parking: On-site parking is available at no additional charge. However, one review described the parking lot as having "broken down cars everywhere" and requiring parking "in the very back."
  • 24-Hour Front Desk: The front desk is generally staffed to assist with check-in, check-out, and guest inquiries, though one review noted issues with staff availability and responsiveness.
  • Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping services are typically offered, though a review mentioned instances where room service did not come to clean the room for multiple days.
  • Terrace: The hotel features a terrace, providing an outdoor space for guests to relax and take in views.
  • Vending Machines: For quick snacks and beverages, vending machines are available on-site.
  • Elevator Access: The multi-story building is equipped with elevators for easy access to all floors.

Features / Highlights

Mountain Vista Inn & Suites highlights several features that are intended to attract guests to its Pigeon Forge location:

  • Spacious Suites: A key highlight is the availability of "large suites," including those with multiple bedrooms. This is a significant draw for families or groups who require more living space than standard hotel rooms. Some suites also offer a separate seating area and kitchenette amenities.
  • Prime Parkway Location: The hotel's position directly on the Pigeon Forge Parkway is a major selling point. It offers "easy walking distance to The Island," The Comedy Barn, and other popular attractions, allowing guests to explore without the hassle of driving and parking in a busy tourist area.
  • Indoor Heated Pool: The presence of an indoor heated pool provides a year-round recreational option, which is particularly appealing for families with children, regardless of the outdoor weather.
  • Affordable Accommodation: For some travelers, the hotel may offer competitive rates, making it an option for those seeking a more budget-friendly stay with access to suites.
  • In-Room Conveniences: The inclusion of microwaves and refrigerators in guest rooms adds convenience for storing snacks, drinks, or preparing simple meals, which can be especially useful for families.

However, it is crucial to present a balanced view, as some customer reviews highlight significant concerns that potential guests should be aware of:

  • Inconsistent Cleanliness: One review explicitly states that rooms were "nasty," with "hairs everywhere" and "red substance... all over" beds, and "stains and bugs," directly contradicting typical expectations for cleanliness. Another mentions "dirty" floors.
  • Maintenance Issues: Reviews report non-functioning in-room items such as stoves, microwaves, and refrigerators not cooling, along with flickering lights and loose/leaking toilets.
  • Customer Service Concerns: Several reviews detail "rude treatment" from staff, unresponsiveness to complaints, and difficulty obtaining assistance with basic requests like room cards or issues with room amenities. One severe account describes being asked to leave the hotel without a clear reason or refund after reporting issues.
  • Property Condition: Descriptions of "broken down cars everywhere" in the parking lot and "nasty" doors and floors paint a concerning picture of the overall property upkeep.
  • Poor Wi-Fi and TV Quality: Specific complaints about "internet really sucks" and "fuzzy" TV channels detract from the expected modern conveniences.
  • Safety/Comfort Concerns: Reports of "drunk people smoking weed on every floor outside, yelling" raise significant concerns about guest safety and comfort.

Given these widely varying experiences, potential guests should thoroughly research recent reviews and consider their priorities carefully before booking.

Conclusion: Why Mountain Vista Inn & Suites May or May Not Be Suitable for Locals

For Tennessee locals considering a trip to Pigeon Forge, Mountain Vista Inn & Suites presents a mixed bag of suitability, making a thorough evaluation crucial. On the positive side, its location is undeniably a major asset. Being directly on the Parkway, with easy walking access to popular attractions like The Island and The Comedy Barn, is a huge convenience. This can save you significant time and frustration navigating traffic and parking in a very busy tourist town, which is a big plus for those familiar with Pigeon Forge's hustle and bustle. The availability of large suites is also appealing for families or groups, offering more space than typical hotel rooms, and in-room amenities like microwaves and refrigerators add practical value for self-catering. The presence of an indoor pool provides a year-round recreational option, particularly welcome for families with children.

However, it is imperative for locals to be fully aware of the significant concerns raised in multiple customer reviews. Consistent complaints about cleanliness issues (e.g., dirty rooms, stains, bugs), non-functioning appliances in suites, poor Wi-Fi, and concerns regarding the overall property condition (e.g., parking lot) are serious red flags. Most critically, the severe allegations of "rude treatment" from staff, unresponsiveness to legitimate complaints, and even an instance of a guest being asked to leave without refund after reporting issues, point to potential challenges in customer service and management responsiveness. These negative experiences, if encountered, could severely detract from any vacation.

While the location and suite size might initially seem attractive for Tennessee families seeking a budget-friendly option, the potential for a very negative experience due to maintenance, cleanliness, and particularly customer service issues cannot be overlooked. For locals who prioritize a consistently clean environment, reliable amenities, and professional, supportive staff, it would be highly advisable to weigh these risks carefully and perhaps consider alternatives that offer more consistent positive reviews, even if it means a slightly different location or a higher price point. Your peace of mind and enjoyment of your Smoky Mountain getaway depend on choosing accommodation that aligns with your expectations for comfort and service.

Would give Zero stars if allowed. Drove down from Ohio on a Saturday. Booked this place on booking.com. Arrived around 6pm. Parking lot has broken down cars everywhere had to park in the very back. Pool is the size of a large bathtub. Was charged a 50$ security deposit upon arrival even though I paid through booking.com. We were on the 6th floor. Doors are nasty, floors are nasty. Put our luggage on a chair. Took a trip to the island decided to ignore the elevator condition wanted kids to have a good time as it was our first trip to pigeon Forge. Came back there were drunk people smoking weed on every floor outside, yelling. Toilet was loose and leaking. Went to inspect first bed to find hairs everywhere, second bed had red substance like food or something of the sort all over, third bed had stains and bugs. Needless to say we went to report concern to front desk to be told we have to contact our “travel agent” and request a refund assuming that’s booking.com. Please do not stay here this place should be torn down and rebuilt. Pictures are deceiving. We ended up sleeping in our Yukon. 6 people sleeping in one vehicle. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stay here. Just a terrible experience.

Dirty sticky floors, food on floor from previous guest. Mold, ants, and flies in room. Holes patched in walls and not painted. Complained to front desk and response was house keeping makes my job so hard. Left went to island for two hours came back to our door standing open on our room. Went to front desk complaining and response was don’t no how it happened. No concern on trying to resolve issues and stone 13 hours to stay here. Left next day. You think with pigeon forge largest attraction next door this would be more sanitary and friendly for guests to stay.

Pros - Great location, very comfortable bed, nice room (302) 2 bedroom suite, 4th floor deck area with view of The Wheel, large walk in shower with jack and jill vanity areas for each bedroom.Great a/c Cons - Lights missing in both bedrooms, ceiling fan light flickers so bad you can't leave the light on,a/c is only in one bedroom, pool is very small, over chlorinated yet was slimey when we visited it, elevator is stuffy hot, vending machine wouldn't work on main floor, TV remote missing in one bedroom. All in all, it's a decent place to stay and I would return. They just need to do some work to minor areas.

DO NOT GO. I would rather sleep in a vehicle than stay in a room here! The room smelt like death, the sheets were covered in stains and there was giant holes in the wall! We explained the situation to the front desk and they pretty much didn’t care. There was no Option for another room even though the hotel was empty. It was Pretty much take it or leave it! Thanks for the waste of Money.
