We were in West Jefferson for a relaxing girl's weekend. Weekend was going great until we got to the motel. Check in was easy but were shocked when we opened the door to our room. Found a very run down room. Tub wasn't clean. Lots of mold and mildew on shower curtain. No smoke detector, only wires coming out of wall. Sheets and towels dingy looking. Microwave was sitting on an ottoman and small refrigerator didn't fix on the counter, front leg was off the counter. Dead bolt didn't work and no privacy lock. Furniture looked like it was about to fall apart. We worried about bugs and weren't about to have anything to do with the "free" Continental breakfast after we saw the room. Were only staying one night and would have left but it was already getting late. Will never stay there again and will warn anyone who asks to avoid this motel. Very deceiving from pictures on website.

Apr 27, 2025 · Cindy AmosYes I stayed here about a week and my stay was very very nice. The rooms were clean toiletries were stocked. Coffee microwave and refrigerator were available in the rooms. The staff is very accommodating and kind. I enjoyed the breakfast bar. The stores and the restaurants were easily accessible. And it was a quiet atmosphere. The towels were very white fluffy clean and fluffy clean and fluffy. And if I'm ever this way again I will stop back in.
Mar 17, 2025 · Angel MullinsCan’t speak for the experiences of others on here but from the likes of it on my end, this hotel is not nearly as horrific as the reviews are making it seem! Especially for one in a little humble town, what I got was much better than what I had expected. My home had gotten condemned by Hurricane Helene and in a frantic search for a place to stay (accommodated through FEMA), I took a shot with Nation’s Inn. Right upon arriving, the front desk people (a Caucasian gentleman with a beard and an Asian lady) were very sweet and knew exactly what to do. Checking in was not stressful. I got a 2 bed room, and it was clean, had no smell, no bugs, and the bedding had no imperfections (I did bring my own though just to be sure). The only downside I would say would be how intimidating the outdoor environment is … would definitely not want to spend too much time outside at night. But, that is also just coming from a girl who is paranoid often. Overall, I would say that this hotel is worth giving a try!
Oct 17, 2024 · My Hanh DangThe worst hotel we have ever stepped foot in. We reserved a king, non-smoking room with a couch, balcony and a view. The first room we were sent to had 2 beds, each not much larger than a twin bed. The room smelled nasty, the pillow cases were dingy/dirty looking, the lights didn't work properly, and a parking lot for the view. We immediately left the room and went back to the check-in desk. Next we were sent to a room with a king bed, all the same problems as the first room, only the smell was even worse. I believe this hotel likely has a lot of electrical problems. The 2nd room was on the 1st floor and instead of a couch the room had a non-functioning recliner. We went back to the check-in desk and told them we would not be staying. The room that was advertised and reserved was not provided. We are attempting to get a refund. DO NOT book a room in this hotel If I could give zero stars I would. I felt sorry for the man at the front desk.
