We had a 5-star experience overall! The location is absolutely charming — the grounds are beautifully maintained with stunning mountain views, Mediterranean-inspired architecture, lush plants, flowers, and adorable arches. It’s incredibly photogenic — definitely an Instagram-worthy spot! The spa services themselves were great, but it did feel a bit overcrowded. It was hard to find seating by the spa pool, and I wish there was better management in terms of available chairs or monitoring how long guests occupied them. The rooms were comfortable but slightly outdated, and depending on where you’re placed, the views may not be ideal. Some areas of the property could also use a bit of maintenance. That said, the overall vibe, amenities, and aesthetic still made for a memorable and enjoyable stay!

May 18, 2025 · Daria KeenanTo call this a 5 star is an overreach. Staff was friendly but the cleanliness of the property and quality of the restaurants doesn’t meet the mark. We saw room service trays and discarded trash left in the same spot for days. The room is spacious and the bed was fine, if not at the end of its life. The bath has products in the shower which are not removable for the tub. It’s fine. Not 5 stars.
Jun 09, 2025 · Chris HallThis place is super overrated. The rooms are average, the carpet and furniture are out dated and the bed was hard. There is nothing luxurious about this place. I’m local so I just went to the pool, showered, packed up and left. I didn’t even stay the night. That’s how unimpressive this place is. The pool was dirty. One of the staff members asked me if I was going to the flooring meeting; I guess because I’m Hispanic I looked like I was there to work, I even had my luggage with me when I got asked. I did get a massage and she talked the whole time, the only thing decent was the facial. Even in the spa side the rooms are basic there’s not even anything on the walls in the treatment rooms. This was supposed to be a gift for me prepaid in advance by someone else but bc you’re required to leave a card for “incidentals” I have multiple charges all for different amounts. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Don’t fall for the pretty pictures online this place is a bust!
Jun 18, 2025 · Telinarae VigilDuring our stay over Memorial Day weekend, we encountered both positive and negative experiences. While the customer service throughout the grounds was commendable, with staff members being exceptionally courteous, the quality of food was inconsistent. While the carne asada fries were particularly noteworthy, the coffee from the room to the restaurant and cafe was mediocre. Additionally, the pillows were too soft for our preferences. Despite these minor inconveniences, the breathtaking mountain view provided a memorable backdrop for our stay. However, we encountered a significant issue at the spa. I had booked a couples massage, but we were unexpectedly placed in separate rooms. Initially, I attributed my boyfriend’s delayed arrival to a potential delay. However, upon realizing that we were not reunited as we typically are at other spas, I inquired about the situation with my therapist. She informed me that she was unaware of the couples massage booking and had not received any notification from the front desk. Despite my insistence on the validity of the booking, she remained uninformed and showed a kind demeanor. She promptly contacted the front desk to rectify the situation. My boyfriend was then brought into the room I was in about 15 minutes later. Upon mentioning the discrepancy my boyfriend’s therapist repeatedly dismissing of a couples massage and asserted that I was already in the other room. She also made an inappropriate remark suggesting that “couple massages are too complicated.” While I am uncertain about the precise meaning of this statement, I found it unprofessional and disrespectful to a spa guest. The entire massage was delayed, but the spa staff did honor our allocated time. However, we were disappointed to discover that the sauna was out of order during our stay. It had been turned off approximately one and a half hours prior to our arrival, yet no mention of this issue was made during our check-in. When the front desk inquired about our experience, I informed them of the situation. They apologized but did not offer any solutions or suggestions for rectifying the matter. Considering the five-star reputation of the resort and spa, we were surprised by this oversight. While we would likely consider returning to the establishment in the future, we have decided to avoid the Joya Spa for future visits.
Jun 09, 2025 · Amira ShaibiAmazing stay! We are here end of March and the weather is perfect. The resort is so clean and beautiful. Great staff. For the people complaining the rooms are too far away need to get over themselves. We stayed in the “very back” of the property and it was a 3 minute walk to the pool/ restaurant, and we had a patio backing up to grass. Expect resort prices when it comes to food and drinks. We will be coming back again!
