I visited Sanctuary Camelback Spa for a birthday treat and had high hopes, especially given the price point and the reputation of Arizona's luxury spa scene. While the spa services themselves were excellent, my treatments were relaxing, and the staff was professional, the overall experience fell far short of expectations. I paid over $800 for two services, which isn’t unusual for a high-end resort spa in Arizona. Normally, that price includes access to exceptional amenities that let you spend the day truly unwinding, things like serene pools, saunas, food service, and beautiful lounging areas. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. The spa had only a steam room and very small hot tub. There was no access to the resort pool unless you were an overnight guest or paid an additional fee. Even then, the pool is in a completely separate area, not connected to the spa at all. There was also no food or drink service available at the spa itself. For someone hoping to spend the day relaxing after their services, it felt like there was nothing else to do. Once your treatments are over, you're essentially done. They also advertise a Zen Japanese garden, which sounds like a lovely feature. But in reality, it’s a walkway — you pass through it on the way to your treatment, and that’s it. The photos online are misleading. They show lounge chairs that don’t exist. What’s actually there is a gravel path and some water features, with no place to sit or spend time. To be clear, none of this is the fault of the spa staff. I actually felt bad for them — they were working their butts off, kind, attentive, and clearly doing everything they could to create a great experience. The areas where the spa fell short were completely beyond their control. In a state known for incredible spa resorts, where day guests are typically treated to stunning facilities and thoughtful amenities, Sanctuary Camelback was a real letdown. If you're going just for the spa services, you can find equally good treatments elsewhere for a fraction of the price. And if you're looking to splurge for the full luxury experience, there are many other resorts in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area that offer far more value and comfort for the money. I left feeling disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this spa given the price tag and the far superior options available nearby.

Jun 09, 2025 · David FaberDropped in for a girls' spa day and had the most amazing experience! The environment was so peaceful, relaxing, and zen—it truly felt like an escape. I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Jeane Hays for my massage, and she was absolutely incredible. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel calm, comfortable, and completely at ease. I genuinely felt like I was getting a VIP treatment. She didn’t just help release all the tension and knots—I felt like she realigned my entire back, especially my lower back, and gave me such noticeable relief. On top of that, she shared helpful tips and advice so I can take better care of my body day to day. Highly recommend her and this spa—already planning my next visit!
Apr 17, 2025 · Amy KwanWe spent our 10 year anniversary weekend at the resort and it was amazing. Gregory James made our experience beyond what we could have ever imagined. The resort grounds were immaculate and everywhere you turn their is a breathtaking view. We spent the evening at Elements and Chef Matt and his team gave us a unforgettable dining experience. The sushi quality is the best in the valley and the steak was perfect. Surprise of the night was the truffle fries!! We finished Sunday at the Spa and it capped off a perfect weekend. Thank you to the staff, this resort is a special place.
Apr 07, 2025 · Steven AdamsJust the best I have had in Phoenix. Service, view, food. All where a 5 star. In a private room for a work function. Surprised by a curtain that opened to show us the kitchen and be served one of the most unbelievable seafood platter. Just exceptional!
