I will be visiting Brunswick frequently for the next four years and discovering OneSixtyFive recently has made me look forward to more quick trips to see my son at Bowdoin. I appreciated every detail - from the warm friendly welcome to the thoughtfully appointed and attractively decorated rooms. But the charming bar was the star for me. It’s a picture perfect New England setting with delicious food and drinks. The bartenders enhance the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. OneSixtyFive is a gem.
Nestled in the heart of Brunswick, Maine, at 165 Park Row, OneSixtyFive presents a compelling option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for travelers seeking a blend of historic charm, modern comfort, and personalized service. This independent inn, housed in an elegant Federal-style house dating from 1848, has been thoughtfully renovated to offer a distinctive and memorable lodging experience.
OneSixtyFive boasts an "excellent location" that is consistently highlighted by guests. Situated on Park Row, the inn is just a stone's throw from Brunswick's vibrant Maine Street, typically "less than five minutes' walk" or about 200 yards from the town center. This prime position grants guests easy and "walkable" access to "everything" the charming town has to offer: a diverse selection of restaurants, a great organic market, a myriad of boutiques, and various local stores. The pedestrian-friendly nature of downtown Brunswick makes exploring on foot a true pleasure.
The inn is particularly appealing to those visiting Bowdoin College, as it is a mere "9-minute walk" away. This proximity makes it an ideal base for prospective students, visiting parents, or alumni. Brunswick itself offers a rich cultural scene, with institutions like the Pejepscot Museum, Skolfield-Whittier House, Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, and Bowdoin College Museum of Art all within walking distance. Beyond Brunswick, the inn serves as a convenient hub for exploring Midcoast Maine. Popular destinations like Freeport (home to L.L. Bean's flagship store) are approximately a 10-minute drive, while the vibrant city of Portland, with its acclaimed culinary scene and arts district, is about a 25-mile, 40-minute drive. Scenic coastal towns and attractions like Bath and Boothbay Harbor are also easily accessible. The inn's setting, described as a "picture perfect New England setting," exudes a welcoming and authentic atmosphere, whether guests are staying in the main house or the more secluded carriage house.
OneSixtyFive offers a carefully curated selection of services and amenities designed to enhance guest comfort and satisfaction:
OneSixtyFive's key distinguishing features lie in its authentic New England charm combined with a commitment to modern comfort and exceptional hospitality. The historic setting, with its "elegant Federal-style house," creates a unique ambiance that sets it apart from more generic hotel chains. The "charming bar" (Pub165) is a significant draw, offering a delightful space for food and drinks. The personalized and "attentive" service from the staff is a consistent highlight, making guests feel truly welcome and cared for. The convenient and "walkable" location to Bowdoin College and Brunswick's vibrant Maine Street further solidifies its appeal. The variety of accommodation options, including the private Carriage House rooms, caters to different guest needs, and the inclusion of amenities like espresso machines and tea kettles in some rooms adds a touch of luxury.
While some older reviews mention potential issues with room size or self-check-in communication, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the inn's "gem" status and its ability to make guests look forward to future visits. The blend of historic elegance, modern amenities, and genuine hospitality creates a memorable and highly recommended experience.
For current promotional offers and detailed booking information, it is best to contact OneSixtyFive directly via phone at (207) 729-4914 or +1 207-729-4914, or by visiting their official website (). As an independent inn, specific promotions might vary seasonally. Guests can inquire about special packages or discounts for longer stays. While specific "Carnival" codes or similar generic discounts might appear on third-party sites, direct booking often ensures the most accurate pricing and access to any exclusive inn offers. Guests can often find better rates by staying during the low season (e.g., March and February) or on specific days like Monday or Thursday, as Friday often tends to be the most expensive day. The strong positive reviews from real customers serve as the most effective promotional tool, attracting visitors seeking a unique and highly satisfying stay in Brunswick.

May 11, 2025 · Tracey Barry HuntI loved it here and highly recommend the 165! When I arrived, a staff member (I wish I got his name) walked me to the house I would be staying at and gave me lunch suggestions (Sea Dog BTW). The room was clean, spacious, and cozy; house had an espresso machine and tea kettle. The location could also not be better - walkable and close to restaurants and stores.
Mar 23, 2025 · Andrea BurkeWe stayed in one of the Coach House rooms. It was spacious, well laid out, and nicely appointed. They are in the middle of a kitchen renovation in the main house, so there was no breakfast or pub currently. Communication was very clear about that. Easy in thanks to emailed code. Between Bowdoin College and the main business area. Quiet street near the gazebo. Easy walk from train station and to many great restaurants.
Jan 19, 2025 · Christine McDadeWe loved the main inn but the “Carriage House” we stayed in wasn’t great. Our room was awkward (3 wall switches, none of them were for a light, 1 was for the ceiling fan). Breakfast was confusing…there wasn’t much to choose from, it was cold, and our family was all charged different even though we got the same things. We loved the staff and would come again if the price was right.
Jan 04, 2025 · Thomas MintonGreat location, very convenient for Amtrak trips! Easy walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, Bowdoin, and Hannaford. Room was spotless and super comfy. Pub165 had delicious, cozy dinner. Overall, highly recommend for a Maine winter getaway!
