HORRIBLE! Save yourself the trouble & skip this place! My BF had booked a room for us for my birthday getaway & requested a queen bed- when we got into the room, it was barely a full sized one! He went back to speak with the man at the desk who was going to charge us for the night until BF demanded a refund. The room was dark, and smelled faintly of old cigarettes- we were both glad to find a much better room in Kittery
The Travelers Inn, located at 130 Pleasant Street, U.S. Route 1, Brunswick, ME 04011, USA, presents itself as a practical and budget-friendly accommodation option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for visitors to Brunswick, Maine. This family-run motel aims to provide clean and comfortable lodging with essential amenities, appealing to travelers who prioritize value and convenience.
The Travelers Inn is strategically situated on Pleasant Street, which is U.S. Route 1, a major thoroughfare in Brunswick. This location offers convenient access to the town's amenities and the wider Midcoast Maine region. While it is on a main road, some guests have found the motel to be "surprisingly quiet."
The motel is approximately "less than a five-minute drive" or a "20-minute walk" (about 1.7 km/1.0 mile) to Brunswick's Maine Street, which is the bustling downtown area. This means guests can easily access a variety of local restaurants, charming boutiques, grocery stores (including an organic market), and other shops. Bowdoin College is also relatively close, about a "3-minute drive" or 1.2 miles away, making the inn a feasible option for those visiting the college. Nearby cultural attractions include the Maine State Music Theater (about an 18-minute walk or 1.6 km) and the Pejepscot Museum. For those looking to explore further, the Freeport Outlet Shops and the L.L. Bean flagship store are approximately a 15-minute drive south. Portland International Jetport (PWM) is about a 31-minute drive away, while the Amtrak Downeaster train station is around 42 km away. The location is also convenient for accessing local beaches, state parks like Reid State Park, and the beautiful scenery of the Maine coast.
The exterior and common areas of the motel present a straightforward, no-frills appearance typical of a budget-friendly property. However, the focus appears to be on providing a clean and functional interior for guests.
The Travelers Inn offers a range of core services and amenities, focusing on practicality and comfort for its guests:
The Travelers Inn's primary appeal lies in its strong value proposition. It offers clean, comfortable, and well-equipped rooms at a lower price point compared to many other hotels in the area, making it "extremely worthwhile" for budget-conscious travelers. The inclusion of a complimentary continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi adds significant value to the stay. The motel's convenient location on Route 1, providing easy access to downtown Brunswick, Bowdoin College, and other regional attractions, is another strong feature. Despite being a "no-frills facility," guests often find it to be "much better than expected." The consistently praised friendly and helpful staff contribute significantly to the positive guest experience, often making guests feel welcomed and well-cared for. The availability of family suites and amenities like microwaves and refrigerators in every room further enhances its suitability for families or those on extended trips.
It's important to note that while many reviews are positive about its value and cleanliness, some older or less favorable reviews mention potential issues like room size discrepancies (e.g., a queen bed appearing to be a full-sized one) or faint odors. However, the majority of recent feedback emphasizes "spotlessly clean" rooms and comfortable accommodations, suggesting improvements or generally positive experiences.
For current rates, availability, and any ongoing promotions, guests should contact the Travelers Inn directly via phone at (207) 729-3364 or +1 207-729-3364. Information is also available through major online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, and Booking.com. While specific promotions are not always explicitly advertised beyond the standard inclusion of free breakfast and Wi-Fi, guests can often find competitive rates by booking in advance or by checking during the off-peak season. Prices can vary significantly based on the time of year and demand. The motel typically requires a damage deposit (e.g., $100) at check-in, collected by credit card, and refunded within 7 days of check-out, subject to inspection. The minimum age for check-in is 21 years old. The Travelers Inn does not typically allow pets, so travelers with animals should seek alternative accommodations. The generally positive reviews and the focus on essential amenities at an affordable price point are the primary promotional tools, attracting travelers who prioritize functionality and value in their lodging choices.

May 15, 2025 · Tammie StammersFor a lower priced Motel/Hotel, this is extremely worthwhile. Clean rooms, plenty of lighting, and the owner is very nice. 5 stars are based on the rates and rooms. I don't need service, but I'm sure they will what they can.
