Nightmare experience for my mother here. She stayed here last night, as she was working late in the area/in the area for overnight work. It started off as a seemingly normal experience, until she found bugs in her bed. Shes not a very confrontational person, she went to the front desk more worried than angry. I want to note that the front desk worker was sympathetic & understanding but, had to call their manager to find a resolution. When the manager got on the phone, instead of offering a solution, he aggressively argued with both the worker & my mother. Taking advantage of her fearful demeanor. Eventually resorting to threatening to call the police on her. An empty threat but, one that was effective as she gets nervous from confrontation… Overall, I travel a lot & for those of you who travel, you understand the scenario. An absentee manager, using fear tactics on his employees & customers, too busy with personal activities, to be bothered. We are going to pursue the matter further through corporate & other avenues.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Binghamton, New York, Quality Inn & Suites Binghamton, located at 1156 Upper Front St, Binghamton, NY 13905, USA, appears as one of the options. This establishment is part of a well-known chain, suggesting a certain level of standardized service and amenities typically associated with the brand. However, recent customer feedback indicates a mixed experience, highlighting both potential challenges and standard offerings that a traveler might encounter.
The environment of Quality Inn & Suites Binghamton, situated on Upper Front Street, places it in a commercial corridor of Binghamton. This location typically offers convenient access to local businesses, dining options, and transportation routes, making it a practical choice for travelers. The hotel's capacity to accommodate larger vehicles, such as a "26-foot box truck," suggests it has a spacious parking lot, which can be a significant advantage for certain types of travelers. However, one review noted that the parking lot was "covered in ice" because it hadn't been salted, indicating a potential issue with winter weather management. The overall setting is likely more functional than scenic, focused on providing easy access for transient guests rather than a resort-like atmosphere. The quietness, as mentioned by one guest, seemed to be due to low occupancy, which may not always be the case. The exterior and common areas would aim to present a welcoming appearance consistent with the Quality Inn brand, though the interior conditions, as described by some guests, might vary.
The services at Quality Inn & Suites Binghamton, based on customer accounts, present a mixed picture. While standard hotel services like a front desk are available, interactions with staff have been varied. One review describes a front desk worker as "sympathetic & understanding," willing to seek a resolution for a guest's issue. However, the manager's response to a customer concern was reportedly "aggressively argued" and included a "threatening to call the police," which is a severe deviation from expected customer service standards. This incident highlights a significant concern regarding management's approach to guest issues. On the positive side, hotels typically offer a "hot breakfast," although one review found it "dismal," consisting primarily of "cereal, oatmeal, a toaster, and a waffle iron," suggesting a basic rather than extensive offering. The mention of a flyer for "Order My Room Service" that led to a "dead domain" indicates a service that was either discontinued or not properly maintained. The core services provided would generally include check-in/check-out, basic room provisions, and potentially some level of maintenance support, though the speed and effectiveness of this support are not consistently positive based on the reviews. The ability to accommodate larger vehicles suggests a focus on accessibility for various travelers.
The features of the rooms and common areas at Quality Inn & Suites Binghamton appear to be a primary area of concern based on the feedback. While a hotel belonging to the Quality Inn brand would generally offer standard amenities like beds, bathrooms, and climate control, the provided reviews point to significant maintenance and cleanliness issues. Specific complaints include "bugs in her bed," "stains on multiple walls and two ceiling tiles," and exposed nails where paintings were missing. Functional problems were also noted, such as "locks barely worked," a heater that "accomplished little more than blow the curtains around," a TV with a persistent "chyron for the video source," and a phone "missing every button except the keypad." In the bathroom, one light was not working, and "whenever we opened the bathroom door, the ceiling tiles bounced up." These details suggest a lack of routine maintenance and quality control. The beds and other basic furnishings would be present, but their condition and functionality are questionable based on the provided accounts. A common feature of Quality Inn properties is usually complimentary Wi-Fi, though its performance is not commented on. The presence of a "hot breakfast" is a standard feature, despite the limited variety. The overall impression is that while the basic structure and some amenities are present, their quality and maintenance are inconsistent and, in some cases, severely lacking.
From a promotional standpoint, Quality Inn & Suites Binghamton, as part of a large chain, would generally leverage its brand recognition and loyalty programs to attract guests. Its location on Upper Front Street would be promoted for its convenience and accessibility to Binghamton and the surrounding area. The promise of standard amenities like a "hot breakfast" and accommodations for larger vehicles would be part of its general marketing. However, the recent customer reviews pose a significant challenge to its promotional efforts. Negative feedback, particularly regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and especially the reported managerial misconduct, would severely impact its ability to attract and retain guests. While the hotel's presence in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category suggests it serves a basic lodging need, the detailed negative experiences shared by guests would likely deter potential customers. Any promotional information would need to address these significant concerns, potentially by highlighting recent renovations or changes in management if such improvements have occurred. Without such positive updates, the primary promotional message would effectively be one of a budget-friendly option, with the caveat that guest experiences can be highly variable and potentially problematic, leading to a strong recommendation to "avoid it" as one reviewer stated.

Mar 23, 2025 · Joshua HorriganThe locks barely worked. At one point it took about a dozen attempts to get the lock to open despite the light lighting. There were stains on multiple walls and two ceiling tiles. The heater accomplished little more than blow the curtains around. Minor problem but the TV had a chyron for the video source that didn't go away no matter what I did. The phone was missing every button except the keypad. The "hot breakfast" was dismal; just cereal, oatmeal, a toaster, and a waffle iron. There was a flyer for Order My Room Service. It led to a dead domain. There were exposed nails in the wall where a painting clearly was, but no longer. Whenever we opened the bathroom door, the ceiling tiles bounced up. Also, one of the lights in the bathroom didn't work. If I can be blunt, I would never stay in this hotel again and I will be actively telling people to avoid it. I can only say that it was quiet because there was almost nobody there, it was just the hotel that looked like it could accommodate a 26-foot box truck. However, they hadn't salted the parking lot so it was covered in ice.
