Red Roof Inn Binghamton North Introduce

The Red Roof Inn Binghamton North, located at 650 Old Front St, Binghamton, NY 13905, USA, falls under the category of "Hotels Near Of Me," intending to provide accommodation options for travelers and local users in the Binghamton area. As a Red Roof Inn property, it typically aims to offer a budget-friendly stay with essential amenities. However, an objective introduction based on recent customer reviews reveals a highly concerning and largely negative picture of this specific location, highlighting significant issues across multiple aspects of the guest experience.

The environment of the Red Roof Inn Binghamton North is described in overwhelmingly negative terms by recent guests, indicating severe deficiencies in cleanliness, maintenance, and overall comfort. One review from February 2025 states that upon check-in, the room had "dirty laundry, dirty counters," immediately raising serious concerns about hygiene. Another comprehensive review details a litany of environmental problems: "the floor seemed sticky," "a faint smell - like dog urine" was present, suggesting inadequate cleaning, particularly for a pet-friendly establishment. The physical condition of the room is further criticized with descriptions of a "lamp shade looked like someone (something?) took a bit out of it," "peeling paint and what looked like water leaks" on the ceiling, and "Baseboard was peeling off." These observations point to a severe lack of maintenance and upkeep throughout the property. Noise is also a major environmental issue; the hotel is described as a "Very noisy place!" due to "people... in and out all night long, with the door slamming shut constantly" from an adjacent exit door, and "every creak" heard from the room above, implying poor sound insulation. This significantly detracts from the ability of guests to get restful sleep, a primary function of a hotel room. The overall environment, as depicted, evokes an "icky feeling about the hotel, not wanting to touch anything that we didn't have to," which is a damning indictment of its condition and appeal. This suggests an environment that is not only uninviting but also potentially unsanitary.

The services offered by the Red Roof Inn Binghamton North, as experienced by recent customers, are reportedly inconsistent and problematic, extending from check-in to breakfast. A severe issue reported involved the "check in clerk tried to scam our party... out of 120$," by demanding a "$60 CASH deposit for staying," which was described as "VERY sketchy." This points to a highly concerning service failure at the most basic point of contact, impacting guest trust and safety. The breakfast service, often a key amenity for budget hotels, is described as "pitiful." Specific complaints include the "waffle mix had run out" and was not refilled because the overseeing person was "also manning the front desk," indicating insufficient staffing and neglect of service areas. The available cereal "didn't taste good," and the orange juice in a pitcher had "about an inch" left, with the reviewer not trusting its freshness. The lack of alternative beverages besides coffee (which some guests do not drink) further limits the breakfast offering. These observations suggest a minimal and poorly managed breakfast service. In-room amenities, while expected, also show service-related deficiencies: the "sheets did not fit the bed, pulling up and off," indicating a failure to provide correctly sized or properly maintained linens. The bathroom lacked "NO hooks or bars to hang clothes/towels" and the sink was "small, so no place to put clothes when showering," which are fundamental design and service oversights impacting guest convenience. Even basic supplies were reportedly missing, with only "one roll of toilet paper with no back ups." The overall picture of services is one of significant neglect, poor execution, and, in one instance, potentially dishonest practice at the front desk, directly contrasting with what one would expect from a reputable "Hotels Near Of Me" option.

The features of the Red Roof Inn Binghamton North, while intended to provide a basic level of comfort and utility, are severely compromised by the issues described in customer reviews. While a standard Red Roof Inn generally offers features like free Wi-Fi, pet-friendly rooms, and a complimentary breakfast, the actual usability and quality of these features at this specific location are questionable. The rooms, despite having beds, suffer from comfort issues like "metal frames on metal bases" causing clanking sounds. The absence of basic bathroom features like hooks or bars for towels, and a proper space for clothes, highlights design flaws or lack of attention to guest needs. The complimentary breakfast, while technically a feature, is described as being so poorly managed and stocked that guests opted to eat elsewhere. The hotel's pet-friendly policy, while a feature that attracts certain travelers, is contradicted by the "faint smell - like dog urine," suggesting inadequate cleaning protocols for pet-occupied rooms. The location on Old Front Street offers proximity to local areas in Binghamton, which is a functional feature for accessibility. However, this is significantly outweighed by the internal problems. The 24-hour front desk is a standard feature, but its effectiveness is severely undermined by reports of questionable staff conduct. In essence, while the hotel may possess the structural features of a budget inn, their actual condition, maintenance, and the quality of their complementary services render them ineffective or even detrimental to the guest experience.

From a promotional standpoint, the Red Roof Inn Binghamton North faces an overwhelming challenge due to the extremely negative and detailed customer reviews. While the Red Roof Inn brand generally promotes itself on value and pet-friendliness, the explicit and severe warnings from recent guests ("STAY AWAY," "Never again!") completely undermine any positive brand association for this particular location. The allegations of a "scam" attempt by the front desk clerk, coupled with pervasive issues of dirtiness, strong odors, noise, lack of maintenance, and substandard breakfast, create a powerful anti-promotion that would deter nearly any potential guest. The promotional message from the brand about being a clean and affordable place to stay directly contradicts the reality described by these reviews. For local users or travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Binghamton, the online reviews are a critical piece of information that would likely lead them to avoid this property entirely. Any promotional efforts by the hotel itself would need to directly address these severe, publicly documented issues, perhaps with verifiable evidence of extensive renovations, staff training, and improved management, to even begin to rebuild trust. Without such verifiable changes, the existing reviews effectively serve as the primary and most impactful "promotional" information, unequivocally advising against a stay. Therefore, while the hotel has a phone number ((607) 773-8111 or +1 607-773-8111) for inquiries, potential guests are strongly cautioned to heed the warnings from previous visitors before considering this option.

My granddaughter and I stayed here for two nights because it was inexpensive, and close to where we needed to be for the weekend. The room left a lot to be desired - the floor seemed sticky, and there was a faint smell - like dog urine. We were at the end of a short hall, and there were pets in the building. We were right next to an exit door and people were in and out all night long, with the door slamming shut constantly (really, how many people are up and going outside at all hours?). The beds were metal frames on metal bases, so when my granddaughter moved, her bed clanked. And when people walked in the room above us, we heard every creak, as if we were in an older house. Very noisy place! The lamp shade looked like someone (something?) took a bit out of it, the sheets did not fit the bed, pulling up and off, the ceiling had peeling paint and what looked like water leaks. The bathroom had NO hooks or bars to hang clothes/towels, and the sink was small, so no place to put clothes when showering. Although, given the damp-feeling and meager towels, we didn't shower. Baseboard was peeling off, there was one roll of toilet paper with no back ups (which fortunately we didn't need because who realizes there is no back up until you need it?) Breakfast was pitiful. The waffle mix had run out, but the person overseeing the breakfast area was also manning the front desk, so it sat empty the whole time we were in there. We had mini bagels and cereal - but my granddaughter, who loves cereal, thought hers didn't taste good. There was about an inch of orange juice in a pitcher - I didn't trust that, not knowing how long it sat there. The only other beverage was coffee, which we don't drink. The second morning we checked out and went to McDonald's for breakfast. Overall, we had a very 'icky' feeling about the hotel, not wanting to touch anything that we didn't have to, and not trusting the food at breakfast. I had stayed in this place about 6 years ago and took a chance - but never again!

Pet policy is very good. Bathroom sink plugged with ears of corn and gunk. Had to unblock it myself. Whole room very tilted. When in the bed, with the horrible, uncomfortable mattress, felt like being on a ship or in a fun house, the tilted is so bad. Heard every movement in the room above. No where to hang a towel, ceiling peeling, etc and so forth . . .

Stayed last weekend while in town for a wedding. No issues other than could hear the guy above us walking around at all hours of the night. Hotel is pet friendly which is nice ,didn't hear anyone's animals making noise. Did not get breakfast there although it was offered but looked clean and well kept. Room was spacious and was reasonably priced. No issues other than key didn't work once but simply got new one from front desk. Just a warning, I was tired and carrying stuff so it's my own fault ,but I didn't notice bottom step on back stairs is much larger than the others and I ended up tripping on it

Good location Decent value. Little bit of a wait to check in because of the 3 sketchy people in line ahead of me. Clean room and bathroom. I'll stay again if I'm in the area
