As I first walked in. I only had one pillow on a king size bed. I go to use the restroom, and there is no toilet paper. I call the front desk and they say there are no extra pillows available. I finally bring me up a roll of toilet paper, and I beg him for an extra pillow. He then pulls one from another room. The floors are filthy (I cleaned it with a wash cloth) I found pubic hair on the telephone. The sheets look like they've never been changed before, I am utterly disgusted with the cleanliness of this establishment. Next time I'll spend an extra $40 would stay at a better hotel. This place is gross.

Red Roof Inn Chicago - O'Hare Airport/Arlington Heights Introduce

For residents of Illinois, the need for a place to stay near O'Hare Airport or in the Arlington Heights area comes up for many reasons, whether it’s for an early morning flight, a quick business trip, or accommodating a budget-conscious visitor. The Red Roof Inn Chicago - O'Hare Airport/Arlington Heights is a name many people recognize, often considered for its proximity to major travel hubs and its affordable price point. As a local, understanding the full picture of a hotel is crucial, and it’s important to look beyond just the price tag. This article provides a candid and informative overview of this establishment, based on available public information and real guest experiences, to help you make the most informed decision for your needs. We will examine the hotel's location, the services it advertises, and the features that guests have highlighted, both positive and negative, to give you a clear and balanced view. This is about providing a factual resource to help you navigate your local options, ensuring you know exactly what to expect before you book your stay or recommend it to a guest.

The hotel, like many in its price range, presents a mixed bag of guest experiences. Some online reviews praise its value and convenient location, especially for those with early flights or needing a place for a short stopover. It is described as offering fundamental amenities for brief stays. The hotel has an upgraded Wi-Fi system and offers wall-mounted LCD TVs with a free expanded cable package. However, other guests have shared experiences that paint a more concerning picture. Cleanliness appears to be a significant point of contention, with some guests reporting issues ranging from filthy floors and uncleaned sheets to a "stench of cigarettes and urine." In addition, issues with amenities such as a lack of toilet paper, insufficient towels, and a non-functioning TV remote have been reported. Some reviews also mention maintenance problems, including faulty plumbing and non-working, or poorly maintained, elevators. There have also been serious claims of a roach infestation. It is important to note that a lack of communication from staff regarding hotel policies, such as the no-delivery rule and ongoing renovations, has also been a point of frustration for some guests. While some experiences suggest a quick, no-frills option for a brief stay, others highlight significant issues that could impact a guest’s comfort and safety. This variety of feedback is critical for a local to consider before making a booking.

For locals in Illinois, the Red Roof Inn Chicago - O'Hare Airport/Arlington Heights can be a suitable choice under specific circumstances, but it's important to be aware of its limitations. It serves as a viable, low-cost option for a very quick, no-frills stay, such as a place to sleep before an early morning flight out of O'Hare. Its close proximity to the airport and free parking make it logistically appealing for this purpose. However, based on the public feedback available, it may not be the ideal choice for hosting out-of-town guests you want to impress, or for a relaxing staycation. The consistent concerns about cleanliness and maintenance issues suggest that it is a hotel best suited for a traveler who prioritizes location and price above all else and is prepared for a more basic lodging experience. If you are a local who needs a simple, temporary place to rest your head for a single night and are not concerned with luxury or extensive amenities, this hotel could fit the bill. But for those seeking a more comfortable, clean, and reliable experience for their family or themselves, it would be prudent to consider the reviews and perhaps explore other options in the area, even if they come at a slightly higher cost.

I wouldn’t recommend Red Roof Inn Chicago-O'Hare Airport/Arlington Heights to my worst enemy. This place should honestly be CONDEMNED — it’s a total health hazard. From the moment I stepped into my room, I was hit with the overwhelming STENCH OF CIGARETTES and urine. The walls have HOLES IN THE WALL, there’s DOG HAIR and dust everywhere, and the sheets and mattresses are filthy — clearly not cleaned between guests. Worst of all, there’s an active ROACH INFESTATION crawling around the room. I have photos and videos to prove it. The bathroom lights flicker because of faulty wiring, adding to how unsafe this place is. I refused to stay the night and booked another hotel immediately. I asked for a refund on the spot — and after a week of going back and forth with the hotel and Expedia, I’m still fighting to get my money back. This rundown dump should not be allowed to operate. Do yourself a favor — stay ANYWHERE else but here.

I am retired and my wife and I recently went on a trip to Chicago, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful, all of our restaurant experiences were excellent including saving items we left behind. (Sound Hotel was the best!) From the time we showed our faces we were greeted by a nasty redhead woman that we never saw smile from the time we arrived in fact she just scowls. We were at the end of our journey and turned in our car, the rental company was nice enough to give is a ride for the last 24 hours in town. It is an "airport hotel" but you may not leave bags, there is no breakfast, no coffee and the big red bus/airport is all a show. We got checked in and tried to rest, A MOUSE RAN ACROSS THE CORNER OF MY ROOM! #213 HAS A MICE! My wife and I could not rest since this creature was darting into the fridge then the bed then we moved some furniture and there were bait traps. It was evident by then combined with the odors, the environment and the attitude this place really needs to be torn down.

I would never want to stay at this place again! We booked a non-smoking room, but as soon as we opened the door, the smell hit us so hard I nearly threw up — no exaggeration. The odor was unbearable. We couldn’t even eat inside the room; we had to take our food outside just to be able to eat. There were cockroaches, everything felt dirty, and even taking a shower was uncomfortable. After leaving, all we wanted was to shower again properly — even my hair reeked from absorbing the horrible smell in that room. I honestly have no idea who is leaving good reviews here. Please do yourself a favor: find another place and don’t waste your money.

Highly don’t recommend!!! Like everyone mentioned before rooms smell piss so strong it gives you headache. On top of that the room i was given smelled marijuana so strong I couldn’t bare staying there went directly to the office asking to change, the next room smelled too. This place needs serious attention, needs everything replaced hence this place needs to be rebuilt from scratch. Staff was nice though but this place is stay away for $70. My clothes still smell terrible as i am writing this review
