Just got back from a fantastic stay at the Renaissance Seaport Boston! This hotel really impressed me. The location is excellent, with a ton of great restaurant options just steps away – perfect if you're looking to explore the local culinary scene beyond the hotel. The staff were absolutely top-notch – so friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms were also very comfortable and well-appointed. My only slight disappointment was that the Club lounge wasn't open during the weekend. However, this didn't detract too much from the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend the Renaissance Seaport Boston to anyone looking for a great hotel in a vibrant part of the city. It's a solid choice!

The Renaissance Boston Seaport District is nestled in the heart of Boston's vibrant Seaport District, a thriving area that has transformed into a hub for dining, entertainment, and business. The hotel's design embraces a modern, nautical theme, with light and cheery guest rooms and public areas that complement its waterfront location. The aesthetic combines style with practicality, offering a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. While one review notes the lobby is "tiny," the overall impression is one of a clean, well-decorated, and modern space.
The hotel's location is a significant draw, highly praised by guests for its convenience. It's just steps away from a diverse array of excellent restaurants, allowing guests to easily explore the local culinary scene. The area is highly walkable, with major attractions within reach. The hotel is situated close to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, making it particularly convenient for business travelers attending events. Leisure guests will find themselves near the waterfront, with easy access to the Boston Harborwalk, Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), Boston Children's Museum, and other cultural landmarks. Public transportation is readily accessible, with the Silver Line Way stop just one block away, providing quick connections to South Station (a major transport hub for subway and commuter rail) and Logan International Airport. This makes exploring Boston's various neighborhoods, including those with universities like WPI, Wellesley, Northeastern, BU, Tufts, Harvard, and MIT, relatively straightforward. While the hotel offers a modern and clean environment, some feedback suggests that the gym can be "freezing" and that the hotel might feel "dated" in some aspects, though this is contrasted with overall positive comments on cleanliness and room quality.
The Renaissance Boston Seaport District aims to provide a seamless and enjoyable stay with a focus on attentive service. Guests frequently commend the staff for being "top-notch," "friendly," and "helpful" throughout their stay. The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk to assist with any needs or inquiries. The 471 guest rooms, including 21 suites, are well-appointed and designed for comfort, featuring plush pillowtop mattresses, marble bathrooms, and upscale amenities. Many rooms offer sweeping views of the Boston waterfront or the city skyline. Standard in-room features include flat-screen TVs with premium movie channels, high-speed internet access (which may incur a fee), ergonomic workspaces, coffee/tea makers, and refrigerators. Daily housekeeping and valet laundry service are also available.
For dining, the hotel features Capiz Lounge, a vibrant bar that offers seasonal fare, small plates, craft cocktails, and a curated wine list, often accompanied by live music. There's also an on-site Starbucks for convenient grab-and-go coffee and pastries, ideal for guests heading out early. In-room dining (A La Carte) is also available. While the dining options are convenient, some guests have expressed mixed experiences with the breakfast service, particularly concerning communication about Club Lounge benefits for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members. The Club Lounge itself, accessible to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite Members, provides exclusive perks like chef-prepared breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres on select weekdays, although it is typically closed on weekends, which has been a point of disappointment for some guests. Access to the Club Lounge can also be purchased at the front desk.
Health and wellness are well-catered for with a 24-hour health club. This facility includes an indoor lap pool, a Flow yoga room, and a Peloton Studio, along with standard cardio machines, free weights, and weight machines, including a dual cable pulley machine and a rowing machine. An outdoor patio adjacent to the fitness center is available for calisthenics. While the gym is well-equipped, a review mentioned it can be "freezing." The hotel also offers guest welcome amenities and gift orders, allowing guests to enhance their stay with curated treats and beverages.
As a Marriott Bonvoy property, the Renaissance Boston Seaport District offers a range of features that appeal to both new and loyal Marriott guests. The hotel boasts over 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including a large Pacific Grand Ballroom and 13 breakout rooms, making it a popular venue for conferences, weddings, and social events. It's a smoke-free property throughout, ensuring a clean and fresh environment for all guests. The hotel is also pet-friendly, welcoming pets (details on specific size/fee should be confirmed directly with the hotel, as policies can vary).
The hotel's design is described as modern and stylish, aiming for a contemporary feel. The presence of a dedicated Navigator program is a signature Renaissance feature, where an on-site expert is available to help guests discover the best local experiences, from hidden bars to live music venues, encouraging them to "live like a local." For convenience, the hotel offers a 24-hour business center and valet parking, though valet parking is the only on-site option and can be expensive (e.g., $46 for overnight, with in/out privileges). However, the hotel is near several other parking garages, and services like SpotHero can help guests find and reserve alternative parking options nearby. The hotel also offers services like express check-in/check-out, a gift/souvenir shop, and accessible features throughout the property, including mobility accessible rooms and visual alarms.
The Renaissance Boston Seaport District, as part of the Marriott portfolio, frequently offers various promotions and packages to enhance guest value. These promotions are dynamic and can be found on the Marriott website or by contacting the hotel directly. Common types of offers include:

While a guest noted some disappointment regarding the Club Lounge's weekend closure and a misunderstanding about breakfast vouchers, the hotel's commitment to comfortable stays and its prime location make it a solid choice for exploring the vibrant Seaport District.

May 11, 2025 · Rudolf MarusicI’ve stayed at Marriott hotels 8 times in the last month. I paid extra for early checkin and it went well. The desk attendant was courteous and informed me that since we were on club level we could use the club lounge Monday-Friday. He told me I would receive a voucher for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday since the club level lounge is closed on the weekends. We went to the desk pick up our voucher on Friday night and Iman at the desk told me that my voucher was for two people and I should pick it up Saturday morning. Saturday morning, we went to the front desk again and Iman went to get our voucher and came back with a manager, Eurydice. She informed us that even though two employees at the front desk told breakfast was included, we were misinformed and she was not going to give us breakfast. She was quite adamant that even though we were told we were getting breakfast, she could not honor that, because other people would expect breakfast too. We went to the restaurant and it was EMPTY. There were 3 servers sitting at a table alone. Wow, way to take care of your loyal customers Marriott. Would it have be that difficult to give a loyal customer a breakfast in an empty restaurant with 3 lonely servers sitting at a table with no customers in sight. Massive fail in the customer service department. Sometimes honoring your word is the best policy. Train your employees better or honor their words if they have made a mistake. The hotel lobby is tiny, the hotel is dated and the gym is freezing. We did have dinner in the same restaurant last night, and it wasn’t bad. However we waited 45 minutes for the check after we had already boxed up our left overs. I still topped 20% because the server was so nice. Btw, I passed by the breakfast restaurant two more times this morning and it was empty with servers just hoping to get customers to earn some tips. I only saw one customer all morning. I feel bad for the servers. Get them some business!
Feb 24, 2025 · Angie AustinThe room is nice, but the front desk and inside restaurant/bar are NOT on the same page. This hotel requires a $30 resort fee, which we were told is a credit that can be used at the internal bar/restaurant and that it closes at midnight. The first night, we arrived at 10:45 and were given last call upon arrival, which was fine. We were told that Sundays close at 11 (3/23/25), but all other nights close at midnight. After a work event, we returned at 11:15 the following day and the same bartender told us they were closed. She said her name was "Casper" (but I don't believe that to be true) (3/24/25). She then changed her story for when they close. The front desk said the restaurant has the discretion to close when they want depending on business, but the restaurant wouldn't admit to that. My problem with this is that $30 is paid per day (~10% of daily room cost) for a service you're told you can get, but you can't. It was also at the discretion on an overly uncaring and rude employee, who showed a severe lack of friendliness two days in a row, acting with impudence and disregard for the customer because she wanted her shift to end early. Neither the restaurant nor the hotel cared, and while the room was fine, the lack of service and caring give this hotel a 2-star rating. I do not recommend.
Mar 25, 2025 · Rick SauseService 10/10 they give free clam chowder and $30 credit to Starbucks if you’re a rewards member. Silver line is right outside. Great desk staff and service. Rooms have been redone. Best hotel for the seaport
Apr 05, 2025 · Anjum SharmaIf work or pleasure takes you to Seaport, this is a great hotel choice. Beautiful views from higher floors, a proper loyalty lounge, and fitness center. Not a bad walk to downtown Boston with a little less traffic in Seaport. And close to Castle Island, South Boston and a whole bunch of unique restaurants. I try to stay here when in Boston and the rate is reasonable.
