This hotel is spotlessly clean, excellent customer service. My only complaints are minor, but worth mentioning. Housekeeping came in twice while I was there and brought new towels but left the dirty ones I put in a pile on the floor, which I thought was strange. Also did not replace empty tissue box or give an additional roll of toilet paper even though the only one we had was in use and about half way done. (I ended up grabbing a roll off of a cart in the hallway just in case). The other thing that is weird, is that, between the top sheet and the duvet, there is a thin, satiny/rayon “blanket”? Too thin to be a blanket, but because it was such a slippery material, the duvet would slide off the bed any time I moved. 😜 I found that particularly annoying. Other than that, most everything else was swell. (Although, during a very busy night, my family and I put in our dinner order at Birch Bar and after waiting an hour, we asked the waiter how much longer and he apologetically replied “Probably 20 to 30 minutes.” Since we had to be at one of the convention events soon, we left and had the crackers and juice we had in the room for dinner.) Again - the staff could not have been more kind and helpful. There were tons of people there this weekend and it was crazy. Would definitely stay again! (But I’m removing that slippery blanket first!😆

The Westin Boston Seaport District is nestled in the heart of Boston's thriving Seaport District, an area that has rapidly evolved into a bustling hub for business, dining, and entertainment. The hotel itself is characterized by its contemporary design and sophisticated ambiance, aiming to provide a rejuvenating experience for guests. A notable feature of the hotel's environment is its vertical garden in the lobby, a unique natural element that purifies the air and adds to the serene atmosphere. The overall impression is one of cleanliness and modern appointments, despite some guests pointing out minor details like a "slippery blanket" between sheets and duvet, which can be easily removed for comfort, and occasional issues with housekeeping attention to detail regarding specific items like tissue boxes or dirty towels.
The hotel's location is a significant advantage, particularly for convention attendees. It boasts a direct connection via a skybridge to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC), offering unparalleled convenience for those attending events there. Beyond the convention center, the Seaport District itself is a vibrant area with an abundance of attractions. Guests are within walking distance of the Boston Children's Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), and numerous acclaimed restaurants, including popular seafood spots and diverse culinary experiences. The hotel is also relatively close to Logan International Airport (less than three miles), making arrivals and departures convenient. While the immediate area caters strongly to business and convention-goers, the wider Seaport District offers a lively atmosphere with waterfront views and access to unique shops and eateries. The large common areas with cozy chairs are appreciated by guests looking for comfortable spaces outside their rooms.
The Westin Boston Seaport District prides itself on providing a comprehensive array of services designed to enhance guest well-being and convenience, aligning with the Westin brand's focus on "wellness." The hotel offers 793 welcoming guest rooms and 32 suites, each featuring the signature Westin Heavenly® Bed, known for its plush comfort and ability to ensure a restful night's sleep. Rooms also include a 55-inch smart TV, coffee/tea makers, mini-fridges, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, and complimentary Wi-Fi for Marriott Bonvoy members. While cleanliness is consistently praised as "spotlessly clean" and rooms are "really nice," some minor housekeeping oversights regarding resupplying toiletries or removing dirty towels have been mentioned by guests. The hotel provides daily housekeeping.
For dining, the hotel offers several options: Sauciety provides a variety of breakfast and lunch options (breakfast is a sit-down option and not complimentary). MJ O'Connor's Seaport is an Irish pub serving New England classics. Birch Bar offers craft drinks, small plates, and a lively ambiance, sometimes with live music. There is also an on-site Starbucks® for convenient coffee and quick bites. In-room dining (room service) is available during limited hours. While the food quality at these establishments is generally good, a review highlighted a significant wait time for dinner at Birch Bar during a busy convention period, indicating that service can be impacted by high occupancy, although staff remained "kind and helpful."
Wellness amenities are a cornerstone of the Westin experience. The hotel features an indoor heated swimming pool and a hot tub, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. There's also a 24-hour WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio with state-of-the-art equipment, including a gym. These facilities allow guests to maintain their fitness routines while traveling. Other services include a 24-hour front desk, concierge services, luggage storage, express check-in/check-out, and multilingual staff. While overall service is often good, some guests have noted that front desk staff and concierge might not always be "super friendly or very helpful," contrasting with the positive experiences with staff from convention companies present in the hotel. The hotel also provides Bellboy service and a shoebox service.
The Westin Boston Seaport District is well-equipped with features that cater to both business and leisure travelers. A standout feature is its extensive meeting and event facilities, boasting over 91,000 square feet of total event space, including a Grand Ballroom (15,077 sq ft), and numerous meeting rooms and breakout rooms. This makes it a premier venue for conventions, conferences, and large social events. The hotel is equipped with state-of-the-art AV technology and offers professional event planning services, including Marriott Certified Wedding Planners.
Each of the 793 guest rooms and 32 suites features a Westin Heavenly® Bed, a hallmark of the brand designed for supreme comfort. Many rooms offer views of the Boston Harbor or the city skyline. The hotel is a smoke-free property. For guests traveling with pets, The Westin Boston Seaport District is pet-friendly, welcoming two dogs up to 50 lbs per stay for an additional fee of $50 per stay. Cats are not allowed, but the hotel provides pet beds, bowls, and treats (subject to availability), and has nearby pet relief areas. The hotel also offers accessible rooms and facilities for guests with disabilities, including wheelchair access, roll-in showers, and visual alarms.
Parking is available on-site with both self-parking and valet parking options, both of which incur charges. Self-parking rates can be around $49 per 24 hours, and valet parking around $59 per 24 hours, with in/out privileges. The convenience of on-site parking is valuable in Boston, but the cost should be factored into the stay. The hotel is part of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, allowing members to enjoy benefits such as complimentary Wi-Fi, mobile check-in/check-out, and potential upgrades based on their elite status. The hotel also offers a unique "vertical garden" in the lobby, contributing to purified air and a pleasant aesthetic.

Apr 14, 2025 · Nanny ZeeI was there for a convention. My room was close to where the main convention room was located. The set up for the convention was great and the guest rooms are really nice. And really clean. There is a large common area with cozy chairs for guests which I enjoyed. The front desk staff and concierge were not super friendly or very helpful. That was a bit disappointing. The staff of the company that held the convention were amazing and helpful regarding questions about the hotel and local attractions so that made up for the attitude of the Westin staff. I would stay again. I know the service isn't great but it's a nice hotel.
Apr 26, 2025 · Gretchen SarnowiczThe hotel offers a large room with a comfortable king-size bed. However, there are limited toiletries available, with only a small lotion provided. A free bottle of water would also be appreciated. The thermostat is somewhat difficult to operate, as increasing the temperature activates the heat mode. The hotel is conveniently located near the waterfront, the Boston Tea Party Museum, and Chinatown.
Apr 26, 2025 · A WongI regret to say that I cannot recommend this Westin. I remember when Westin was a premier brand within the Marriott family, but my experience here fell far below expectations. In fact, I’ve had far more consistent and reliable stays at Courtyard Marriott properties. The most disappointing aspect of my stay was the bed. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, offering little to no support. When I requested alternatives, the front desk informed me that all pillows were the same. I spoke with several other guests who also experienced neck pain due to the poor pillow quality, and even staff members confirmed that no other options were available. This is such a simple issue to fix, yet it has been ignored. Additionally, I was sleeping on a Murphy bed, which provided an unacceptable level of comfort for a professional hotel. The mattress sagged, lacked proper support, and felt more like an improvised sleeping arrangement than a proper bed. To make it somewhat bearable, I had to order an extra comforter and use it as a makeshift pillow. At one point, I even considered moving the mattress to the floor for better support. No guest should have to go to such lengths to get a decent night's sleep. The service at the front desk was also disappointing. The staff was not particularly friendly, and communication was challenging. They were all wearing masks, which made it difficult to understand them, especially for guests unfamiliar with their accents. Additionally, despite my Marriott status, I was denied a late checkout. When I provided an updated credit card, I was assured it was updated in their system, yet my original card was still charged. If not for the proximity to the conference center, I would have checked out early and moved to another hotel. This experience was that bad. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, as they significantly impact the reputation of the Westin brand.
Apr 03, 2025 · Deborah StorlieI wanted to take a moment to recognize the exceptional service I consistently receive at the Westin. As a frequent guest, I have always been impressed by the professionalism and hospitality of your front desk team, and I especially want to highlight Ronald for his outstanding service. Ronald consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience. His attentiveness, efficiency, and friendly demeanor make every stay enjoyable. Whether it’s assisting with check-in, handling requests, or simply greeting guests with a warm smile, he truly embodies excellent customer service.
