The location is in excellent proximity to VT campus, close walking distance. We got in really late, 12:30 am, and there was no one at the front desk. We could hear them in the back office. After waiting for several minutes, we rattled some pens that were in a can to get their attention. They were pleasant and got us our keys quickly. I’m a stickler for clean rooms and this wasn’t that. There were pretzels on the floor between the bed and nightstand. The doors are brown and dingy around the edges from people opening and closing the doors. The linens for the sleeper sofa were either dirty or stained, either way, that’s gross. Our tissue box was two tissues from being empty, which is fine, they wouldn’t know that, but there wasn’t a replacement box in the room. The glassware and silverware were dirty. Remnants of lipstick on one of the wine glasses. Lastly, housekeeping never came during our stay. Just overall not great. We are Marriott rewards members, so we generally choose Marriott properties for business and pleasure, so we are disappointed that this property, that is so convenient to campus, isn’t that great and sub par compared to many other properties that we’ve stayed at. We also stayed at The Courtyard on the other side of town (Blacksburg) that was a better experience for us.

Mar 21, 2025 · Heather ZakThis is my first time staying at this hotel. As the previous guests mentioned, it is a pretty clean and neat hotel, which is a typical Residence Inn—it's a good thing. Its breakfast is a typical basic breakfast at Residence Inn. The check-in procedure is pretty quick because I already had a reserve & paid via online. The water pressure in the shower is weak, and I didn't have many interactions with the hotel staff, so I gave 4 out of 5 stars. Yes, I would return to this hotel in the near future. I'd also recommend this hotel to those who are looking for lodging at or near Blacksburg, Va.
Mar 07, 2025 · PTLService was absolutely fantastic especially the front desk. Rooms were clean and quiet and had everything you need. Location felt very safe and great selection of restaurants and supermarkets in easy walking distance. Pool is fantastic and well heated
Mar 01, 2025 · Tiffany RoseWe are frequently traveling with our family on weekends either for our small children's birthdays or just to get away for a weekend to relax. We live just a short drive south of this inn and our stay for this weekend was for our 5 yr old sons birthday. Having a winter birthday there isn't much to do outside. We booked for the indoor pool which didn't disappoint a warm 83 degrees. Big pool towels were stocked and ready for use. I want to praise Whitney at the front desk for her professionalism and hospitality. We checked in at 5pm to our 1 bedroom suit standard pull out sofa bed with a full kitchen...the kitchen has a 4 burner stove and full refrigerator dishwasher and range microwave with dishes and and pots and pans We turned on the air conditioner and settled and went out to dinner. Coming back from dinner the room was still hot. I messaged the front desk thru the mariot app and Whitney was up at our room within minutes assessing the issue. She was very apologetic and understanding of the issue. She ended up moving us to another suit as after an hour the air still wasn'tworking....she went and made up the bed for my small children as it was already past 10 o'clock at night. We've never received such hospitality at an inn and she was so accommodating helping us get settled and comfortable. She brought us a new set of room keys along with a luggage cart snd was even going to help us move and that is such exceptional hospitality service...thank you Whitney! Breakfast was good with many choices. This is a busy inn with lots of travelers it being in the heart of a university town. Yet you don't hear a sound from anyone. The price point is fair for a 1 bedroom suit. The inn in in walking distance to multiple eaterys like Chipotle and a few others. There is 2 charging ports for electric vehicles and this inn does allow pets. All around excellent stay. Will come again for another weekend getaway!
Mar 22, 2025 · Melissa HalabrinNote to EV owners: this hotel lists an amenity of EV charging, but these EV chargers are not owned by the hotel but are part of this business area. They were non-functional when we visited and in bad shape (the plugs had no protection, just out in the weather, and looked beat up). The hotel is fine and service was great. Minus one star for the room as a shower leaked on the floor and one of the window shade reach rods needed to be reattached - easily fixed.
